A rich and succinct summation as always, Ken! Thanks for the shout-out to our homage figures - this is just the beginning of our homages to cancelled figures. You'll see more popping up soon!

Great video. When I found out about the Battle Rangers line in detail probably 6-7 years ago I was totally bummed out it was never released. Looking back at what was planned and the return to a more military themed line (for the Battle Rangers anyway) would have been great. I do agree with you that a lot of internal company politics were what caused GI Joe to be cancelled in 1994. I believe the line's 2nd biggest year was 1992. I think the like could have been consistently released and always on shelves much like Lego and Barbie if it weren't for the poor decision to cancel it.
I really like Budo and Road Pig from the unproduced Ninja Commando lines.

    Hey Ken,
Finally this video came out you teased me about this video I been quietly waiting and waiting. I love it when we look backwards and put a question forward to what could been or marvel comics what if. For me I was a teenager when last two years of joe when Ninja Force and D.E.F and Battle Corps and lastly Star Brigade hit the pegs in my local toys r us. So I certainly picked them up and there’s something special about the colour palette that used in the packaging I just had to mention.
But I don’t need to put sleep listening how collected those figures and how much enjoyment they brought me. Instead, looking to the what if line as in non produced figures now that’s interesting the Star brigade replicators they look amazing, especially gung ho it’s screams doom but duke look like a skater boy and not a soldier 😂
Anyway, moving on to ninja force the stand out is certainly road pig and making him a ninja make me wonder how they going bring that into lore hmm it’s certainly interesting. I probably would collect them too
Battle core rangers now they sound and look interesting and things are starting to become in sub teams which is very interesting to me but this what if so I more interested in the lore I hate be Larry trying figure out way. But that Baroness wow Take my money now looks interesting and I need one lol but but thanks again, ken for the great video you got me thinking on what could been

Ah you remembered the facebook teaser, lol. Yeah I myself would have just been entering my teen years if these would have had the chance to come out in '95. Glad you enjoyed this and I'll be sure to revisit unreleased figures again at some point.

Great stuff! I much prefer the colour schemes of those first versions. Someone at Hasbro must have said "Hey this is the '90s, people, we need to pump those colours up to the max. Make them extreeeme!"

i love looking at the unproduced stuff, especially the vehicles. i think had they went back to a normal paint scheme and cut out the wacky ideas like spring loaded weapons the unproduced stuff could have turned the line around a bit. they had some really cool designs going on there

In one way I'm bummed out that we never saw the line continue into 1995 and beyond but in another way, I knew that I was growing up and would have stopped at some point so I'm glad in that sense that Hasbro did what they did when they did it. I'm just happy to have lasted into 1994 and get some Sgt. Savage figures in 1995. Even then, I didn't see many of the rarer figures from 1994 on the shelves.
I think Storm Shadow would've been a villian based on the Issues 150 and 151 in the comic books.

@ToyKennections while true with a character like Clutch if I'm not mistaken Knockdown and Knockout are two very different names and designs. Kinda a stretch to infer one as a hypothetical update

You know, for all the versions of Frostbite and Iceberg we got in the vintage toyline, I'm baffled we didn't get any versions of Snowjob after version 1 in the original toyline, I mean we would get later versions of Snowjob in other toylines, but I'm shocked both Iceberg and Frostbite got more toys and Frostbite was even gonna get a fourth toy in 1995, you'd think we'd get more snowjobs since he's more well known then both Frostbite and Iceberg.

@@ToyKennections Come to think of it, you know who would be a better pick for Ninja force, Jinx! I mean, hellooo people who ran Hasbro in 1994, Jinx is a shoe-in for Ninja force! Her file card says so! Much like how Airtight should've been in Eco Warriors instead of Flint, if Ninja force Flint was released, we'd be saying Jinx was a better choice for Ninja force than Flint.

Yeah, I think Storm Shadow v5 would've been a good guy, I mean, while towards then end of the original run of the Larry Hama G.I.Joe comic Storm Shadow was brainwashed to be evil again, when Larry relaunched the comic, he made Storm Shadow a good guy again pretty quickly, so yeah.

Was there ever a Billy Character? I think I did see a Quinn character and a Dr. Venom somewhere. The Cartoon did a Horrible job in some respects there never was anything about Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. The Marvel Comic had the perfect story. The last I saw was Zartan as the Blind Master. Zartan Killed the Hard Master. Also wonder if there ever was a Soft master Character. Or if they made Scarlet into a ninja Character.
