  • This year of 3.75" o-ring G.I. Joe ARAH adds some more best sub-teams: Sgt. Slaughter's Marauders, and others debut here. Also some expansion to Destro's Iron Grenadiers and Night Force. Some big vehicles too like the Thunderclap and Condor Z25. Plus a new Hiss 2 debuts.
This year also introduced us to some greats like Gnawgahyde, and even new versions of Snake Eyes, Stalker, Rock & Roll, and more.
Also more army builders like the Night Viper, Alley Viper and others.

You successfully conquered the 1989 lineup of G.I. Joe and it really was quite the year for G.I. Joe a real American hero.🎉

Mauler, Lynx, and Marauder all actually look not only realistic (rare for GI Joe line vehicles and almost unheard of for Cobra vehicles) but look like vehicles which could still be in service in 2024.

@@ToyKennections it didnt stop me from collecting them, and i know why they did what they did but i started to find the neon era less interesting due to the colors. i will say there were some good sculpts in the neon 90's but the colors took me out of the "realness" for a military line

In playground if you wasn’t rocking certain super hero T-shirt you were considered not cool. All my friends jump onto Bat craze but for me I still loved collecting joe.
89 had some very cool and interesting figures but it also got one my favourite figures too and brought out my favourite version of character too as in snake eyes v3 but you can’t go pass night viper too. Such good good year and when we got into decade is when I become a teenager and a event change my life.
Anyway I love these video ken you really doing great job

Too bad the micro figure line wasn't supported by a micro vehicle line. Giving kids the ability to make smaller dioramas of battlefields or just have battles that feature entire fleets of ground or air vehicles fighting each other (without needing a thousand bucks and an extra room in the house to store all the full sized vehicles you would need), it would have added a whole new dimension of play value.

Like i wrote in the last vid, 88' was my last year of getting Joes from my parents but in 89' i stole the HEAT Viper and the NIGHT Viper, so technically 89' was the last year i had new GI Joes. Most of this line up i have know idea who they are and this is whats cool about the Classified line, they can release a character that i never saw before and it can be a cool surprise or not cause at this point (1989) most of the figures were not really interesting to me, just like Deep6 v2 or Snake Eyes v3.... i cant believe you prefer Deep6 v2 but everyone has they're own opinion, Deep6 v1 was so different than everyone else and thats what i liked about him.

    • @ToyKennections

Deep Six v1 looked good on a shelf, but as a kid v2 was the more fun toy. Anyway, thx for watching!

I like chunky figures so deep 6 v1 was cool to me. He wore a diving suit so he didn't need more then arm articulation for his job but that was his only play scnerio was diving. I used him to pretend he was in space too.
