  • Condor Mini Bushlore Field Knife. Having a small fixed blade knife is great for making fire tinder and food prep. The leather sheath is excellent. #Condorknives #MiniBushlore #Knifereview

    Never had any problems with a condor blade. I’m nobody but I’d recommend them.

    October 2024… I still carry the Mini Bushlore in my scout bag. It is perfect for most camp tasks like processing fire wood, starting camp fires with a fero rod and of course food preparation. Use it often and I keep it sharp with a touch up on a leather strop. Thank for your recommendation way back in 2021.

    Condor has some great inexpensive knives, especially for batoning and splitting wood. I like to carry a Mora 106 for small work and condor bushcraft for batoning.

    My favourite. Bought way back when use to can weren't silly. Just a beauty! And inexpensive,always there. Hardened the handle with a homemade vacuum. Way back when it was the rage.

    I like to use my TBS Boar Mark 2, that is a fine knife! Completely underestimated if you ask me. TBS also has the Lynx Mark 2, that is more the size of this blade. And i always carry my F1 if i‘m in the woods, thats an all time favorite!

    I like modern blades that seem all angles, hollowed out bits, obscure metals/metal alloys, crazy finishes/bluing, etc. But here's something appealing about a just plain Jane cutting tool which emphasizes all the modern innovations, while wonderful and welcome, are mostly just adornment. Townsends and Sons. is a company that specializes in 18th century reproduction goods for re-enactors. They have a knife patterned after an 18th century small working man's blade which is even cruder than this. Mr. Townsend himself says the steel used is period correct and I quote: "guaranteed to rust." I love that knife even though I have to keep it oiled to prevent that guarantee. They have a larger kitchen version which is wonderful though looks like a prop from _The Texas Chainsaw Massacre._

    One disadvantage of 1075 carbon: Rust. You will need to ensure that it is well oiled/maintained to prevent corrosion.

  • @Elrond_Hubbard1
    @Elrond_Hubbard1 3 года назад +2

    You're right, the word rustic suits Condor. Something about wood matched with steel that just seems right. People buying Condors have to understand that a computer aided machine isn't making the knife. It's a guy or a gal standing in front of grind wheel shaping and finishing the knife so you WILL have minor imperfections.

    3 years later 😊 is mini Knife Mini Bushlore 3 new lenght of this little model? Hows is grip on it? Have mora eldris what i like but blade lenght is to short. This knife maybe will do better around camp.. Food etc. Handle on those mini knifes must be pure 4 finger grip in my opinion. You know any light weight with 4 grip with max up to 80 cm blade.
    Cheers from Sweden. Thx for review.

    I have thick hands and it seems like I would only get maybe 2 1/2 fingers on that handle. I'm not sure about that maybe 3 fingers, but is it manageable with only part of my hand on the handle? I've been looking for a smaller full tang quality knife, I just think that handle might be too small for me.

    It looks like you put a secondary bevel on that by accident. You can get scandy blades insanely sharp really easy but you need to use a specific method. Get a block of wood and glue some rough leather on both sides and put a handle on the end whilst your at it. Then put rough polishing compound on one side and high gloss compound on the other. Then just hold the bevel of the knife FLAT against the leather and stroke it back and fourth. Once you've done both sides on rough do it on the high gloss. You will get a GLASS polish and it will be sharper than a razor. No skill required. Also if you want to you can use the gloss side to mirror polish the whole blade and the handle too.

    I have the mini and full size bushlore I just wish they where 1095 instead of 1075 I have rolled the edges on the full size buttoning wood. That’s my only complaint about the knife

    As a woman i have learned alot watching your video's. I prep but not as much as sonenpeopke. But everyweek i always buy extra of different items. People think i am crazy. Not me. I have a request of you. I know you talk some of this at times but could you do a video on things that a woman can use for survival and things that would be helpful for us? I buy extra food and personal items each week. Even if its $20.00 worth. My items are adding up. Thanks again for your time. I dont use a gun.

      The Mora Robust has a larger, grippier, and safer handle with a good finger guard also,plus the knife and sheath are probably 1/3 the weight. People say the Mora is not full tang which is true but check out the destruction tests on RUclips, it just doesn't break out of the handle.
