i have its older brother and i can't function in the woods without it. i'm thrilled to see the mini is just as capable! thanks for the interesting vid.
Dont know if you read all your comments but also wanted to add what you do running out playing with the stuff you do is EXACTLY what Id do if I lived in the city environment so don't take my comments too hard but cool that you responded in a calm manor my sister frequently visits country areas to escape city life hopefully you do too cause thats what keeps us sane and keeping a sane mind begets prepedmind
I love the Bushlore and the Mini. That was a great tip from will on twisting the knife out to make room for the next feather when you are cutting them thick! Cool vid. Glad to see a Condor getting some positive publicity. There's too many knife snobs out there dissing these great value blades.
I have two of these. By far my favorite knife. At first I was sure it was too small but soon realized it was perfect. Its the only knife I carry on me, had it for 3 yrs now. The size works great on my hip. Did not much like the sheath, a bit bulky for the size. I was able to slim it sprofile by reusing a old letterman carrier, worked out great.
I've got that sheath - it is great. Unfortunately Gary is taking a hiatus from the sheath making business. He's let his web domain expire - so who knows if he will ever start up again.
Now on my wish list. Now that I use hand axes and fold away saws for all of my wood prep, I'm finding that my main knife (Mora and SWC Bushlore) are a bit redundant, but I still want a blade on my person while hiking. This little bushy ticks all the boxes for me.
Will just described the #1 reason I'm such a big fan of brightly colored knife handles & lanyards. They're harder to lose!!! I think I'm going to have to take a close look at that Mini-Bushlore. When I'm in the woods I always carry one of two knife combos. I'll either have something like a Pathfinder Trade Knife on my belt as my primary bushcraft knife and then something small like a Tops MSK around my neck for things like food prep & other small tasks, or I'll have a large survival knife like BK7 on my belt and a smaller bushcraft knife like a Mora Companion as my neck knife. I'm not sure which of those two the Mini Bushlore could replace (maybe both?), but it's definitely caught my attention!
Great point William Myers MantisOutdoors Mini Bushlore would be a great Piggyback pairing with the Condor Moonshiner or the Condor Crotalus; all knives PREPAREDMIND101 has reviewed.
Chris, have you thought about making your own kydex sheaths? I purchased a small kit and now I make my own sheaths. They dont take more than 1 to 2 hours to make with the right tools. Kydex is very easy to work with once it gets hot. Especially for simple jobs like what you are showing, you can make a sheath for a neck knife in 30 min.
I just got the Condor bushlore last week. Like you I wasn't really interested at first but your video on it leaned me into pulling the trigger and buying it. It's probably my new favorite now. The sheath is awesome but I like the idea of kydex. You don't gotta worry about kydex soaking up water. Now do you think having a kydex sheath dulls the edge of the blade enough that it's a problem? (Every time you take it out and put back in the sheath) I've heard people complain about the BK2 sheath dulling that blade.
I have the Bushlore, and the Bushlore mini. I love the Bushlore, but I was very disappointed in the mini. I have huge hands, believe me when I say huge, I can't get three fingers on it. I was hoping it was a full size handle with a shorter blade, but unfortunately it wasn't. My youngest son has a new knife now. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and opinion on this blade reviewed, I appreciate it sir.
Thanks for the heads up on this great little blade PREPAREDMIND101 and for the shout out. This sheath is live in the store now. www.c2gfab.com/?wpsc-product=condor-mini-bushlore-neck-sheath
I picked up a camillus from Walmart it was $15 I took it out for a weekend to my friends camp it was like tac something .just hoping you could may be do a review.
I thought I'd like this thing more than I do. I was really excited when I got it but the edge rolls really easy. It came with the secondary bevel and the blade was warped very slightly toward the tip which makes sharpening the tip inch or so just about impossible. I tried bringing it down to a true scandi and that rolled even worse. I guess it's a matter of getting what you pay for. I've never had a Condor or 1075 before. I think it's time to just get a LTWK Patriot and be done with it. Give this thing to my son when he gets a little older since I already got my daughter a mora HD.
It's been 10yrs now ... They have 1095hc steel yet still use the 1075hc for this blade but don't. If they added a quarter inch to that handle and 1095hc the mini Bushlore would be on my neck day 1. Better yet make it with a plastic rubberized grip and plastic sheath as a competitor to the Eldris .
I bought a sheath from Ctgfab for this knife and it scratched my knife and held my knife so tight that I had to get my friends to help me pull it out. Waiting for a response back from him now. So far bad experience.
Chris I've been a subscriber awhile and appreciate all the info in your videos. I'm sure lots of folks ask you to review other knives, but I'll ask anyway. Any plans to review EnZo knives from Finland? I stumbled across them on Lamnia of Finland website and bought a Trapper, which is little bigger than the mini-bushlore. It is a superb knife. Also, any plans to review real kukri knives from Nepal or the Condor version? Thanks
What do you think is the best knife steel that is the most rust resistant I don't know much about knife steels and looking for a knife like this but won't rest on me when I'm out and about
Wow man, that really hit the spot. I believe I will get one. So you think maybe c2gfab will maybe build a sheath? Do you know of a good Kydex sheath maker in Australia by any chance?
In my experience work sharps are not good for sharpening Scandinavian grinds they do put a second bevel create a almost scani vex grind Just a fyi don't want to spark any hate :)
As always, great video! Thanks for sharing Chris! By the way, do you think the mini bushlore would be a better neck knife than the ESEE candiru? PS: I like much more your new intro, looks sick!
I am not much of a neck knife person because a lot of places I go neck knifes are illegal. I can carry a gun arround my neck with my ccw but god forbid I put a tiny fixed blade neck knife around my neck and I go to jail.
Hi Neil, just a by-the-by, I use BALLISTOL OIL, made in Germany. It neutralises contact from bare hands, protects wood, leather and metals. Otherwise Linseed oil... All the best.
Handle is too short. A perfect handle length is a full 4 fingers with XL glove sized hands regardless of blade length. Silly me, I am just not a fanboy of plastic firearms, sheaths, or holsters.
Honestly I already made an apology post if you read it I don't mean anything to YOU but the channel I cant belive people go out and buy some of this stuff my sisters boyfriend lives in the real jungle CITY LIFE where people Cary guns guns and tactical knives cause they dont feel safe in the office brought him here one summer and the dude couldnt even build a fire in a bbq grill what you do I understand its your mass audience what happened to America
Just wanted to offer my two cents on an issue that I had with my full-size Bushlore, and which might afflict the Mini: when I first got the knife the edge was very delicate, even when used for reasonable wood carving. I found that it would easily roll AND chip, even though I wasn't using it to pry or twist as Will does in this video. I'm not sure if mine had a bad heat treatment, or if it was just too low an edge angle for the steel. In any event, I convexed the edge a bit more using the worksharp--maybe three or five degrees inclusive--and that solved the issue of premature edge degradation completely. Just figured I'd share, in case anyone else experiences a similar issue. Thanks for the vid, Chris!
This knife sounds like right up my alley. Women's hands are smaller (for the most of us) and this sounds like worth looking in to. Thank you.

C2G FAB makes a great kydex neck sheath for the Bushlore Mini at a pretty reasonable price as well.
I've got that sheath - it is great. Unfortunately Gary is taking a hiatus from the sheath making business. He's let his web domain expire - so who knows if he will ever start up again.
Looks like a good skinning knife.
Thanks for including will's thoughts it's cool to see two opinions on the knife, love that knife btw
Anything bushcrafty, I try and include Will.

Holy crap! I'm in love 😍😍😍Thank you for doing this review. It's exactly what I am looking for...
Hi bro I have a condor bushlore knife they work great the mini I will get one in the future
Sweet lil knife , be a light carry and still do alot of camp tasks. Thanks for the review and showing it to us.
I wear my LTWHK Patriot as a neck knife. I do own a Condor Mini Bushlore, but haven't yet worn it as a neck kniife.
looks like it would be a great 2nd knife to go along with a old hickory
the kydex sheath looks great with the mini

Time I don't have.
Nice! I'm liking this little blade thank you guys
1/4 inch longer handle and I'm buying my first neck knife.
Keep em coming..

"worksharp doesn't mess with the grind" what???
Excellent video

Sasquatch hands can be limiting. GOOD thing is, Jessica-X will have PLENTY of room for your big mitts.

Awesome knife.
I didn't know that thing was that small.
That's what she...

Could the Bushlore Mini be used as a neck knife with the leather sheath?. I see Will's neck knife has a leather sheath.

Was looking at buying this knife. I know this review is older… any thoughts now? And also, I can’t seem to find that neck sheath anywhere.

Thx for vid! any link to maker of kydex for Bushlore mini? M
Awesome review brother. I was wondering if you have found a better neck knife than this for bushcraft/ Backpacking?

Who made your kydex sheath? Love the knife and would want a sheath like that. Thanks
Is this the cigrit paper micarta handle joint knife?

Hi Chris... I just received a Condor Bushlore Mini for Christmas. What oil should I use on it? and does the wood AND blade get the same oil?
Hi Neil, just a by-the-by, I use BALLISTOL OIL, made in Germany. It neutralises contact from bare hands, protects wood, leather and metals. Otherwise Linseed oil... All the best.
Ken opinion workshop ?
Look at the top left corner of the screen at 10:00 there is something walking.

it was just a guy walking

in America it's woodsmanship not bush whatever.
