Thank you for this video. I plan on replacing mine this week as I no longer get water to my ice maker and my water dispenser is taking forever to fill a glass of water. The Maytag refrigerator is 20 years old but still works great except for these issues. Your video gave me the knowledge I need to feel confident that I can do this repair. Thanks!
I have just installed a water inlet valve as described in our refrigerator. It does not leak when the water is running, but it does leak when the water shuts off. I can see a air bubble in the line right before it leaks. I’ve tried to run water through it (several gallons). Never leaks when running but always leaks when shut off. Ideas???
@@froger3582 I think we just didn’t have the water line in tight enough. If I remember, we just had to take the leaking line out and the put it back. I think it’s supposed to click when it’s fully in. I remember it took several tries and retesting to get it to work.
Normally we do advise letting the fridge sit for about 24 hours that way the temperature inside the fridge can get to the proper temperature. Have you purged the lines at all? What is the model number of your fridge?
Even though I watched the vid showing how to replace the water inlet for my single inlet kenmore I found that the valve would leak everytime it sent water to the ice maker. When I pushed the line in did not hear a click but it was tight , still dont know what I did wrong. Sent this one back , ordered another valve.
The only thing different about the water valve I have (LG) is that there is a retaining ring around the inlet collar between the white fitting and the blue valve body. This prevents me from depressing the white inlet collar and releasing the hose. (?)

Did everything but water not flowing through lines. Does it take time

its just the blue compression collar that is leaking is that replaceable
how long until the icemaker starts making ice? is it necessary to unplug or reset the ice maker?
