thank you for the video, we had our treadmill setup for us at the house, now we are moving the movers are needing the treadmill disassembly, and this video helped me with that process. Thank you!
Great video. I paid for mine to be installed but we are moving and now I don't want to pay for the uninstall and move so this video helped me a lot to see what I have to do in reverse.
Excellent tutorial, the best on this unit I have seen. I picked one up of NextDoor, and it worked fine there. Seller had to disassemble the top panel/masts from the roller(?) unit so I could get it in my car. Most of it was still assembled, so all I had to do was pull the power cable through the right mast, connect it and then bold the mast into the whole shebang. Turned power switch, which lit up, and the front panel doesn't light up and I just mentally deflated. I am guessing something went wrong with the power cable from the mast, I don't know. So anxious to get this thing going!
Thanks for watching! Hopefully you can get the issue fixed quickly. There is only the one cable through the mast, so you are probably correct that it got messed up somehow. Either that or maybe something inside the panel was knocked loose during transport.
Going to have to move our t303 so looking to see how it went together to take back apart. I cut the red strap while the treadmill was on its side and it smacked into my foot/shin. I thought I broke it when I did that. 🤦♂️
What about the incline wire in the inside I've heard was still wrapped up and will come apart if the incline is raised up until you cut the cable ties.

Bought this model and assembled it 2 days ago. When pairing it, did it ask for a pin? I have the speakers paired but couldn't get the machine. I'm still loving it tho.
Hi there, as you have found, connecting to the speakers is pretty straightforward by connection through your phone bluetooth menu. But connecting to the machine is less fun - you have to use a specific app (AFG Pro), disconnect your bluetooth from the speakers, load up the app and connect to the treadmill through the app. Unfortunately the app isn't great and I had trouble getting it to connect to the treadmill - I had the most luck if the phone was resting on the phone tray and not in my hand. If I’m missing the upright guide bolts from step 1, am I able to put together the treadmill safely? Do they only help guide the pieces in position? It appears as if they don’t secure anything in place but if you could give me some feedback it would be very helpful! I don’t want to pay $25 in shipping for 2 bolts if it’s not necessary. Thanks!
I can't speak to if they are required from a safety perspective but they likely do help stability of the masts (3 points of contact holding the masts in place instead of 2). I would say though that you would likely have a hard time installing the masts without the guide bolts - the comments on the video do indicate that some folks have had issues with getting the bolts aligned even with the guide bolts helping, it would be much more difficult to get those other bolts in without the guide bolts. You would essentially have to manually hold up and align the mast while you try to get the bolts in place - considering the masts aren't particularly light, I think that would be quite the struggle to manage. Hope that helps!
We cannot find out how to change running programs to the different LEDs that are displayed. We read about them in the book but can’t figure out how to actually change the programs. Please help
Hey there - to select the workout there is a few steps to take right at the start of your workout: 1. select your user (scroll through the users with either the handle grip spinning knobs or use the buttons on the main console) and then hit the big round select button to set it 2. select your weight (scroll the same as in step 1) and hit the big round select button to lock that in 3. This step is now where you can select the program - scroll the same way as above and when you get the program you want to use, hit the big round select button again 4. go through and select any of the desired settings for the program you picked 5. press start to begin the workout. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
The deck / belt / bottom part is definitely the heaviest part of the treadmill. Not recommended to move it on your own - when I have had to move this piece, I put it on its edge and slide it on the carpet. If you don't have carpet or there are stairs involved, definitely get a second set of hands.
Under the main mast assembly / motor housing there are 4 feet - they can be turned to adjust level - turning them clockwise will make the foot go closer to the assembly and lowering that corner closer to the floor. Turn counter clockwise to extend the foot further from the assembly and raising that corner further from the floor. You basically have to put the treadmill in the location you need, take a level and check left to right level and then front to back. Essentially set the level near the edge on each of the 4 sides and adjust the feet up and down until you get the assembly level in all directions. There really isn't any way to level the deck where the wheels are - you pretty much have to have a good level surface to begin with or in some cases use something like a thin piece of wood to adjust height. Be careful there though to use something wide and stable so that the treadmill wheels don't fall off whatever you are using. Sorry for the fairly rushed response, but I hope it helps.
One year in how do you feel about the machine? Our 3 year old Nordictrack just died because its tablet bugged out and there's no way to fix it without a complete console replacement which gets way too close to 1K to repair. I'm done with that brand and any "smart" treadmills that rely on Android/tablets for controls. Initially we were going to go for 7.0 but changed out minds and got the 7.8 because of its longer warranty and more power since both me and my wife run but from what I saw in your video the 7.0 was pretty solid.
It is still going great, just a couple months shy of 2 years at this point. We still enjoy it and are happy with the purchase...definitely a solid machine. One of our main criteria was the manual controls and none of the "smart" stuff - we just wanted it to work. Sounds like you had a similar experience with your Nordictrac that we did with ours - luckily we were able to get the console to work again via a copy of the app we found on the internet that their support site seemed to have "lost". We definitely looked at the 7.4 and 7.8 for the reasons you indicate, but when we bought they were out of stock. In the end they would likely have been a bit overkill for our needs and the 7.0 is definitely robust enough for us. Thanks for watching!
Did u adjust ur belt when you took it out of the box because when I took mine out of the box the belt seem fine like it was lined up straight except for the top part of the belt so I may have to loosen it up and move it over some.
Thanks for watching. I was able to get the parts down by myself- the hardest part was the deck as it is the heaviest part and very awkward to lift. What I did was slide it down the stairs on its side on a piece of cardboard - that way I did not actually have to lift it, instead I controlled the slide which was way safer.
Was there any warning about standing on the belt while staring the machine? My old treadmill recommended standing on the side until the belt started to move.
I am not sure if the manual says that specifically or not, but that is a pretty standard safety practice with treadmills. Certainly something I have done for decades. Thanks for watching!
Hello! I just set up my treadmill. How much did you have to tighten the belt to not slip? Seems like I’m having to keep doing it and it’s just not getting there. Thank you!
Hi, we did not need to tighten the belt out of the box - I am surprised you are having that issue. There are several videos on RUclips that give a better description on how to tighten the belt than I could give. Hope you can get the issue sorted out.
Could try the manufacturer or hunt around online - Johnston fitness is the parent company. The cord does appear to be a fairly standard cord like what would be used on a desktop pc from the power supply to the wall. You could probably find something on Amazon that would work, you would want to get a pretty robust one though since it will draw a fair bit of current with the motor load. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching!
Hi - great video. I have this treadmill and love it. Quick question - how does one end your workout (turn it off)? Or just hit the red stop button and leave it once you are done?
I think that could depend on how much space you have and your specific treadmill. Probably the best thing to do is to put the deck in the upright position and then use some rope or a bungee strap to tie the deck to the treadmill masts or a metal cross piece near the top of the part of the treadmill with the control panels. That way when you release the bolt holding the hydraulic upright in position, the deck won't fall and will be held by the rope. There would other options if you had enough space like laying the treadmill on its side and removing the upright in that position but that likely wouldn't as safe or efficient as using a rope to tie the deck up. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
I'm sorry, but don't remember specifically how I got those ones in and I didn't record that part apparently. I do remember it took some playing to make sure everything lined up but I don't remember doing anything special there.
Hi, no we don't have any issues like that with the wheels. Hopefully that doesn't cause any issues or that you can get it resolved. Thanks for watching.
I got this same treadmill and I am finding that the main panel is very shaky. For example when I put my phone down on it, it eventually starts sliding. And even worse than that, the bottle shakes very loundly while running, and also eventually starts sliding down. Do you have the same issue on yours?
Hi there, no, we don't have that issue with the phone sliding around when running on the treadmill. Not sure what could be causing that - maybe some loose mast bolts or potentially the treadmill isn't leveled? Hope you can sort it out! As for the water bottle, I am 240+ pounds, I have never had a home treadmill not shake the water bottle around when I run on it...so my experience there may not be the normal experience. Thanks for watching!
That is unfortunate, definitely sounds like something to call or email the company's support about. One option might be to confirm the safety key is inserted but that would have a fairly obvious notice on the main display. There could a few things causing that issue in my mind but maybe the belt that connects the motor pulley to the drive roller pulley came off during shipping. If it is that, it is not a huge thing to fix but is still worthwhile calling the company to get it looked at. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
Nice unboxing and setup video. Thanks a lot. How has your experience been so far and how has it fared till now? I am also thinking of getting this model.
It has been very good - no issues with the electronics or the motors, etc. It gets used every day between and we have well over 1500 miles on the treadmill at this point. We have had a belt replaced in that time under warranty but have had no other issues. Thanks for watching!
@@BGRFamily The belt had to be replaced? That seems very premature as for wear and tear. And you actually got through to Horizon? I've been reading on the T101 that folks just cannot get Horizon to respond. Can you tell us about the belt...and customer care/service? Thanks
We still use a mat even on carpet, just to be safe. A previous treadmill we had developed some rust on the feet and that stained the carpet underneath. We have also had really cheap mats get ripped by a previous treadmill's feet, if we didn't have the mats, the carpet would definitely have been damaged. Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
Not really, no. As we put a lot of miles on the belt we did find we had to tighten it a bit due to a bit of stretch, but nothing major. One thing to watch for is lubricating the belt too, if that isn't getting done it can slip. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. I got one of these two days ago. One issue I have with it is that it does not connect by Bluetooth to any app I have tried including the AFG PRO app that they suggest in the instructions that came with this treadmill. I am very technically savvy, but I still can't get the apps to connect to the treadmills Bluetooth receiver. Have you had any success using that feature? If so how did you get it to work? The only thing I got the Bluetooth to work with was the speakers and it can connect to my iPhone or iPad, but not to apps.
Thanks for watching! I had several issues getting the app to connect as well - it doesn't help that there are two different AFG apps on the Android Play store and one of them (AFG Connect) is really messed up, but it sound like you have the right one. I could not get it to connect to the app at first either, and I think I fluked into getting it to work in the end. I think the trick is that you have to let the app start the connection instead of connecting the way you would to play music through the speakers. Basically, don't connect to the treadmill with Bluetooth prior to starting the app and then let the app start the connection - still took twice for that to work (I think it failed the first time but worked the second time). Sorry that my memory is a bit hazy - I set the connection up about 6 weeks ago and haven't used it since - I am thinking I will need to do a video on it so I remember later when I need to link it to another device. Also the Bluetooth in the treadmill might not be that strong - I never got it to connect to my phone unless it was sitting on the tablet stand portion of the treadmill. I hope that helps.
No issues for us - the highest we have taken the incline is 5% though. I have done testing since the original comment and have run it up to the full 15% - no issues at all.
That part was difficult to film while putting things together, definitely needed both hands for it. I started by putting one bolt in the upright and aligning it with its hole as best I could. I kept the mast steady while trying to lever up the deck to line up with the holes. It was a bit frustrating but it doesn't sound like I had the same issues getting things lined up that others have had. A couple things to watch for would be: 1. surface - a soft surface like carpet would allow the deck to sink in a bit and make it difficult to get the posts aligned with the guide bolts 2. not having the console masts perpendicular to the deck when trying to align everything - would make it difficult to align the bolts. Hope that helps, and thanks for watching.
Ours is not too bad for squeaking, my wife is on it right now and I am in the next room without issue. I can hear it squeaking a bit but it is not loud enough to bother me.
Hi there, unfortunately I can't remember where I got the mat, but it was a fairly generic exercise mat that we picked up at a local store. Hope you enjoy the treadmill and thanks for watching!
Great video. I have a problem with the display flashing through all the users and all of the fields are lit up but the treadmill will not work. It was acting up for a few weeks before stopping all together. I checked the connections and everything seems okay. The green light on the control board consistently blinks once. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue.
Ours does not request a 4 digit code to pair with the bluetooth on the machine for audio. For other features you use the AFG Pro app and I don't recall it asking for a 4 digit code either. Thanks for watching.
@@BGRFamily Thanks for quick answer and great videos. I bought a Horizon 7.0AT, and it ask for a code when we try to connect with Android phones (Samsung & Huawei), however we have no problem with Iphones.
Interesting, we use Android (Samsung) and it didn't ask us for a code - lots of bluetooth devices use 0000 or 1111 as the default code, so maybe that would work? Either way, thanks for watching!
Does anyone get a throbbing sound when you turn the motor up? Also when you are on the treadmill, should there be a sliding sound as you apply your weight? I don't feel it slipping, just wondering if these two sounds are normal. Thanks
I'm not sure what the throbbing sound might be - there is a seam on the belt that can make a bit of a noise every time the belt makes a full rotation and the seam goes over something, it usually isn't too loud though. Not sure if that is what you are hearing or not. While using the treadmill there will be a bit of a sliding sound with every step as the belt slides across the deck with your weight on it - usually a bit louder while walking than running. Hope that helps, thanks for watching.
Luckily we have a pretty straight and clean path from the garage to our basement. I was able to lift the deck onto its side and slide it on a piece of cardboard to the garage door - was easier than carrying it and prevented damage to the side of the deck. From there we have a straight line from the garage door across a small landing and then down carpeted stairs to the basement (again keeping the deck on its side so it fit through the openings) - so it was more of a controlled slide to make sure nothing got damaged on the way down the stairs. Once in the basement, we are carpeted so it was an easy slide on its side to the area where I assembled everything. The biggest trick is that the deck is easier to carry and fit through openings, etc if you have it on its side. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.
It has 2 wheels for moving it when it is folded. So if you are moving it folded, you do have to tip it onto the wheels and push or pull it that way. Hope that helps.
I assume you have gotten through the rest of the assembly, but I don't think it should be too much of an issue. The straps are more for keeping everything from moving around while you are moving the treadmill around and getting things set up. Thanks for watching!
This skips over the hardest part initially which is attaching the arms (console masts). And the whole reason I looked for a video. So here’s a tip. Don’t screw in the upright guide bolts all the way in. They need to be a little loose so that there’s enough room for the bolt to slide down in to its socket. Then the the four holes will line up better for the four screws.
Thanks for watching - you shouldn't need to leave the upright guide bolts loose, on mine at least, there was lots of flexibility in moving the console masts around on the bolts when they were fully tightened. A couple alternatives to watch for would be: 1. surface - a soft surface like carpet would allow the deck to sink in a bit and make it difficult to get the posts on the guide bolts 2. not having the console masts perpendicular to the deck when trying to align everything - would make it difficult to align the bolts. Again, thanks for watching!
@@BGRFamily Yes. But that wasn’t the case. We tried all of those things. The guide bolt wasn’t sticking out far enough to seat in the upper part of the hole. The guide bolt needed to sit further out because the thickness of the metal surrounding the hole wouldn’t allow the bolt to go far enough in to the hole. Trust us. We tried everything. As soon as we loosened the guide bolt a little it seated in to the hole of the mast. Since you’re giving me tips for something I figured out(since I didn’t ask and I apologize but your comment makes me feel a bit snarky), here’s a few of mine. What I have learned with making tutorials is it’s a) good to show all steps b) especially show the steps that give you trouble so you can show problem solving c) don’t skip a step. Thanks for the video.
I didn't show that step for 2 reasons - did not have my hands free to hold the camera and it went on very easily so I didn't think there was something that needed to be shown. Apparently I was incorrect. Additionally - I was giving extra suggestions for any potential future readers for things to try, not specifically suggestions for you. Thanks for watching.
I’m glad we were the exception. Sorry I was a little snarky. It’s rare… and I also know what it’s like to get those types of comments on a Sunday 😬 but we were exasperated. Nobody shows that step in their videos. They gloss right over it. Good luck with your channel.
Glad you got it through! I believe I used a ruler to push the cable end away from the lip it was catching on while still pulling on the draw string - any kind of a long stick should work.
@@BGRFamily Cool. That was definitely one of the most challenging steps to do. When I doubted that I was ever going to get it through for a split second, suddenly I got a vision of the cable passing through the hole with ease and that is exactly what happened next. THANKS GOD!💝 I am thankful that you made this video. I recorded my unboxing and assembly as well. I’ll make a video. More good experiences need to be shown about this experience of ordering the treadmill since the whole process seems to be soooo mysterious.👍👌

Do you show how to level it? I dont know how im i supposed to turn the bolt?
No, we didn't have any issues like that.
@@BGRFamily ok thanks
Loved you video , just wondering if one man move literally everything parts by parts to basement?
Thanks for watching. I was able to get the parts down by myself- the hardest part was the deck as it is the heaviest part and very awkward to lift. What I did was slide it down the stairs on its side on a piece of cardboard - that way I did not actually have to lift it, instead I controlled the slide which was way safer.
Could you do a motor overview with this model? I have the same model and I’ve noticed some motor noises and my actual motor belt is not alligned
Was there any warning about standing on the belt while staring the machine? My old treadmill recommended standing on the side until the belt started to move.
I am not sure if the manual says that specifically or not, but that is a pretty standard safety practice with treadmills. Certainly something I have done for decades. Thanks for watching!
How did you pick this thing up?!? It weighs a TON!!! 😩 I should have paid to have it brought inside the house.
Does the belt come pre lubricated? Do I have to lube the belt before the first use? The guy setting it up said I shouldn’t have to for a long time.
The belt is pre-lubricated and that should be good for 150 miles of use (or 3 months) - thanks for watching.
Great video.i just got a free one from a friend. But it has no power cord.do you know if i can find one? Thanks
Thank you
Hi - great video. I have this treadmill and love it. Quick question - how does one end your workout (turn it off)? Or just hit the red stop button and leave it once you are done?
Very helpful video. One odd question: For disassembling your old treadmill, any safety or practical tips for removing the hydraulic upright?
@@BGRFamily Thanks!
Thank you sooo much. Great video
The last step with the four putting the side panels on would not fit, and the screw hole is very small, how did you do it?
I'm sorry, but don't remember specifically how I got those ones in and I didn't record that part apparently. I do remember it took some playing to make sure everything lined up but I don't remember doing anything special there.
Hello! I just got mine and went to set it up and the rear wheels are bent? One inward and one slightly outward. Is yours like that?
Dude is the treadmill all siliconed up when you get it or do you need to apply it before you use it out of the box?
Ours was pre-lubricated and could be used out of the box without additional lubrication.
@@BGRFamily thanks
hello! we assembled ours and everything when we turned it on the belt wouldn’t move :/
Thanks
Is it necessary to place treadmill on a rubber mat if it is going on a carpet?
We still use a mat even on carpet, just to be safe. A previous treadmill we had developed some rust on the feet and that stained the carpet underneath. We have also had really cheap mats get ripped by a previous treadmill's feet, if we didn't have the mats, the carpet would definitely have been damaged.
Hope that helps, thanks for watching!
After you added lubrication and leveling, did you have any difficulty with the treadmill, like was it skipping when you tried to walk or run on it?
Not really, no. As we put a lot of miles on the belt we did find we had to tighten it a bit due to a bit of stretch, but nothing major. One thing to watch for is lubricating the belt too, if that isn't getting done it can slip. Thanks for watching!
Did you set it up yourself, and how long did it take?
Yes I did - I would say probably an hour with one person, would likely have been faster with 2 people for some of the parts.
How tall are ya? I’m not sure if the treadmill running deck width is okay for 6’3 me.
I am 6'2" and I find there is plenty of space. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video. I got one of these two days ago. One issue I have
with it is that it does not connect by Bluetooth to any app I have
tried including the AFG PRO app that they suggest in the
instructions
that came with this treadmill. I am very technically savvy, but I still
can't get the apps to connect to the treadmills Bluetooth receiver.
Have you had any success using that feature? If so how did you get it to
work? The only thing I got the Bluetooth to work with was the speakers
and it can connect to my iPhone or iPad, but not to apps.
Do you have the problem with incline ? I was told that the wire maybe disconnected when you incline the treadmill
No issues for us - the highest we have taken the incline is 5% though. I have done testing since the original comment and have run it up to the full 15% - no issues at all.
Can you transport it sideways?
How the heck did you get the 4 bolts to line up? You totally skipped that part.
A couple things to watch for would be:
1. surface - a soft surface like carpet would allow the deck to sink in a bit and make it difficult to get the posts aligned with the guide bolts
2. not having the console masts perpendicular to the deck when trying to align everything - would make it difficult to align the bolts.
Hope that helps, and thanks for watching.
i think it had squeeking sound while running ?? does it bother you??
Ours is not too bad for squeaking, my wife is on it right now and I am in the next room without issue. I can hear it squeaking a bit but it is not loud enough to bother me.
Hello there, we just purchased this treadmill and I am so excited to get it! Quick question, what mat did you use for it? Than you so much!
Hi there, unfortunately I can't remember where I got the mat, but it was a fairly generic exercise mat that we picked up at a local store. Hope you enjoy the treadmill and thanks for watching!
@@BGRFamily thank you so much!
Sorry, I have not seen that one - hopefully someone has an idea that watched the video. Thanks for watching!
How to connect this Treadmill to a Android mobile with bluetooth? What's the 4-digit code to use?
I literally can't get the holes to stay lined up. With the side mast pieces
@@BGRFamily Thanks! I'll give it a go for a while. The walking thing make sense, I just wasn't sure if I lubricated it properly.
What size mat is under the treadmill? Where did you purchase it at?
Mat is 4 foot x 8 foot - purchased from Canadian Tire. Thanks for watching
Very nice
How did you get the deck from the garage to the room?
How heavy is the deck?
Is the 7.0 AT a folding 2 or 4 wheel?
It has 2 wheels for moving it when it is folded. So if you are moving it folded, you do have to tip it onto the wheels and push or pull it that way. Hope that helps.
@@BGRFamily Thank you!
So my idiot self was
Unboxing it and one of the red banding straps came off before assembly. Is that going to mess up the whole assembly ?
A couple alternatives to watch for would be:
1. surface - a soft surface like carpet would allow the deck to sink in a bit and make it difficult to get the posts on the guide bolts
2. not having the console masts perpendicular to the deck when trying to align everything - would make it difficult to align the bolts.
What tool did you use to fish the wires through the top hole in the console mast before it came out all of the way?

Glad you got it through! I believe I used a ruler to push the cable end away from the lip it was catching on while still pulling on the draw string - any kind of a long stick should work.
@@BGRFamily Cool. That was definitely one of the most challenging steps to do. When I doubted that I was ever going to get it through for a split second, suddenly I got a vision of the cable passing through the hole with ease and that is exactly what happened next. THANKS GOD!💝
I am thankful that you made this video. I recorded my unboxing and assembly as well. I’ll make a video. More good experiences need to be shown about this experience of ordering the treadmill since the whole process seems to be soooo mysterious.👍👌
How do you put a user name in
You have to use the AFG Pro app to do that
You never stated how the buttons underneath work. Heart rate and and the others. I have this treadmill and nown of that even works. It seems theyre bogus buttons that make you seem like you got alot for your money.
This was more an assembly vid then a comprehensive functional test. For more info on the buttons, check the 7 week review linked in the description.
