i have trouble with making my guitar sound like this (i have a fender strat). do you use recording software to manipulate the tone, or is this purely from an amp? would love to know. thanks.
This is typically a sound from neck humbucker plus overdrive. I've a plugged in an epiphones les paul wino in a turbo distortion ds2 into an fender like amp. This setup gives me almost the same result : a fat creamy sound.

I use guitar rig, it's really easy to get the sound you want. Here i use the neck pickup (mini humbucker)
