    Mr. Babak is no joke. This van is the bomb. Uncontrollable laughter when Hank and Nick climbed van like two toddlers with ear to ear grins. Fantastic Video.

    Just WOW! Never expected a Patriot could be kitted out like this. Surprising to hear he has never plugged in...curious how often he used A/C but still this is impressive. I think I will have to rewatch this...thanks to you all 3, great job!

    I love the subtle awesomeness of the upgrades. I'm not a Class B guy but dang that's cool.

    What a great proof of concept. Babek not only wanted capability but safety. You can see what can be done when you have a solid platform. He needs to steal the central tire inflation system from a military vehicle. He would be able to air up and down in the cab. For different terrain you want that for a bigger contact patch. Can’t believe how efficient his battery system is. Last man what a great video especially the bed instead of losing storage.

    Great upgrades, well thought out. Shows how most RV's are not ready for dirt roads, pot holes and rocks. Lithium batteries underneath are a bit of a worry, but the solar and alternator make this an off road electric beast! Lots of lost space with the rear sofa taking up space. Not so sure if the interior is a Ritz Carlton feel, as it looks cramped on a rainy day. Overall, one of the best Mercedes factory RV conversions I've seen. Thanks for the tour, Hank, Babak and Nick.

      Good points Stan, thanks for that...I think 144's are definitely tight on space...the better size if you want to actually get much off-roading in though

      @@strangerpalooza BTW, Hank, I ran across your channel after attending the 2022 Tampa RV Supershow. There are many RUclipsr's showing a quick gloss over ad for the manufacturer, parroting this is the best RV ever. Your vids are more in depth. I'd luv to see a bit more bite showing the cons, like the leaf springs, cassette toilets, GVWR, battery types, etc. Remember, the manufacturers are not your friends. They want you to make pretty videos selling their RV's. Be honest, be brutal. Be different. You can do this. Thanks again, luv your style, your delivery. You got something going here.

    That is awesome. I notice that when men show the vans, most of the video is on the outside. Out of the whole video, only 8 minutes went for the inside.

    Really cool! Van Compass designs many of the suspension systems other off-road up-fitters use. Their TOPO systems are engineered for the specific models and based on use. Aluminess also has great after market bumpers, ladders, rear storage, etc. The Owl tire rack/ladder requires drilling in the door, where the Aluminess product does not. No connection to Van Compass or Aluminess, just more options for fixin up our vans. The American Coach Ford Transits do not need the pedal box.

    ok. with all the mods he has. how much wieght can that thing have left for gear? (OCCC) I know that when you change the suspension it can add or lession the occc. nothing more dangerus that an over wieght rig. the insurance can decide not to pay out if it is determination that it was. has he even Weighed it at a cat scale?

    If I have a van shipped to Long Island NY, where do I get my warranty service?

    • @strangerpalooza
      @strangerpalooza  2 года назад +1

      I'll get SSRV to answer that for you...have you looked to see where's the closest place to you that works on RV's specifically vans

    • @just.bob.j
      @just.bob.j 2 года назад

      @@strangerpalooza honestly, I haven’t looked that closely. I was hoping that SSRV had an answer or recommendation since they say that they will ship anywhere in the US.
      I’m going to Hershey Park at the end of this summer (2022) and I will probably make my decision. I am really leaning towards a Travata RBKL since they seem to have less complaints or problems than the Coachman.

    No side ladder should have a breakaway feature so that if you get sideswiped you don’t have $20,000 worth of damage and loss of your van for six months

    First, I doubt Owl Engineering employs any engineers because that jacking stunt he referred to was a deception, and engineers are known for honesty not deception. The stress on the metal hinge is mostly due to torsion not just shear. That stunt put the jacking point right up against the hinge and thus eliminated the stress from torsion which in real trail testing will cause failure. As for a being “trail tested”, I’d rather see something lab tested. Car crash testing is not done on the street much less a trail. it’s done in a lab where you can measure things and come up with numbers. you know those things real engineers use.
