ABOUT ME:
My name is Shelly and I’m a 48-year-old web geek that jumped off the deep end into the makeup and beauty world. I’ve got normal to dry skin, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage. Cameo appearances by my rescue cats Daffy, Polly, Ziva, and Charlie (all girls).

Saved by Shelly! Had a horrid day. Just looked - almost a full moon. That is the time all kinds of things can go wrong for me, plus high irritation. But, here’s Shelly, so everything’s better now 😊
Galway seems like such a vibrant and fun place, thanks so much for sharing it with us! You looked great, today, Shelly, though I don't think the foundation was nearly as lovely on you as many others we've seen you review. All the same, the more info the better, right?! Take care, be safe.
Love your ring!
Thanks!! I got it from the Claddagh Jewelers in Galway!
[record scratch] Hold everything--that peridot ring?!?! Fantastic, did you get it there in Ireland? LOVE.
It is so cute!
Yep got it at Claddagh Jewelers in Galway!
You got me curious about the possible ingredient that gives the foundation that slick/dewy appearance. Here is what I found on the Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint ingredient label: Trimethylsiloxysilicate is a highly cross-linked silicone resin primarily used for its film-forming attributes. It helps hold pigments in place while providing water-resistance in skin care and color cosmetic applications. This may or may not be the ingredient in question but the "film-forming" description makes me think it is. Hoping you're having a blast in Ireland! 💚☘
Very interesting!
I need to do some ingredient deep dives. One product gives me milia, and another gives me a pimple! Every single time! Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy your comments here and on other channels. ☺️
@@ambergerhelper7852 Thanks @ambergerhelper7852! ☺
Whoa very interesting!! I bet that is it!!!
Oxidised much lately 😂. I saw the name "Collection" and thought I bet you'll be turning orange. A pleasure to watch as always, shame this one didn't do so well.
Hi Shelly! Thank you for taking us along while you were in Ireland!! It reminds me of my home country (Belgium), same type of weather and so green!! I miss the green here in NorCal…
I guess we’re not missing much that we can’t find this one in store here in the US… thank you for your fun and honest reviews!! 🌸
Shelly, have you heard of the British brand, Geek & Gorgeous? The name reminds me of you. ❤ I’m trying out their retinol, and so far so good.
I haven't and I feel like I need to try them (I mean, come on... the name!!!! Love it!!!)
Just wanted to say your eyes are very beautiful. What color would you say they are? And would love to see your true silvers come in some day. Thanks for sharing.
They're green according to my birth certificate and drivers license, but I think in reality they're more hazel. The inside ring closest to the pupil has some gold-ish or brown or something going on with the green.
It's always great to see your face, Shelly! Video idea. I have a few different serums that each do different things, retinol, moisturizers that do different things, etc. So, how do you plan out your day/night skincare for, say, a week? How do you decide which serums, etc, to use and when? Would love some suggestions there. I just received that bifida serum you suggested today, and I'm not sure what to combine it with or not for that matter.
I start with my "major" actives and go from there. So for me, the 2 major actives would be tretinoin and exfoliating acids. Those are the 2 things that I want to be careful what I combine them with. So on tretinoin nights, I only use the tretinoin and a moisturizer. Same with the AHA/BHAs - just that and a moisturizer. Other things are less prone to irritation, so I don't mind layering them. So then I figure out my frequencies - and right now I do tretinoin 3 or 4 nights a week, and acids I only do once every couple weeks (I used to do more often but I didn't find the results to be worth the extra irritation). So right now I'm pretty much on a 12-day cycle. The nights that aren't tretinoin or acids, I'll mix and match other things. Currently I'm starting with a calming toner, then the bifida serum, then the No 7 Renew serum, then my Clarins eye cream, then moisturizer. But I'll mix that up and change out the toner or the moisturizer or add in an extra serum or a facial oil, or an over the counter retinol since those aren't irritating to me anymore, etc. Just nothing with a "major" active (to me a major one is one that is prone to cause irritation). Mornings I switch things up a bit too - my basic morning is bifida, No7, Clarins, moisturizer, and sunscreen, but sometimes I'll do a vitamin C toner or serum, or something else that I'm trying out. And once every couple weeks at night I just do a 7-skins layering of hydrating essence/toner and moisturizer and that's it. So really the only things I set in stone are my "major" actives and the rest I kind of rotate.
never tried anything from this brand and I don't think I ever will, the oxidization of this foundation is crazy, only a few foundations don't turn orange on me like the Nars and the Haus Labs
Hi Shelly. Love how your eye makeup turned out.
I've been craving scones since you were in Ireland. I'm going to see if Rachel's pastry chef can make them vegan!
I like the glow of the foundation, but it did oxidize. It still looks nice.
Sorry that it feels dry. That would be a no for me. I dislike anything that feels tight on my face. Thanks Shelly! ❤💞😘
Shelly, where did you get your Jeep sweatshirt? I drive a Jeep and need a sweatshirt. Thanks! ❤
A girl I met through one of the Jeep groups on Facebook custom makes them! Brandy Ketchum is her name - facebook.com/brandy.ketchum.5
Is it bad that my husband just said every word of your outro with you 😅😂😂😂 I watch way too much 🤣🙈
LOLOLOL!!
Hey Shelly did you get a tan??!
😆
The Lawless wears more matte on me whereas the Haus is a little more satin/luminous. I'd say they're about equal for coverage and longevity (the Lawless might be a tiny bit higher coverage but I'd say negligible). I'd make the choice between them based on preference of finish. Both are also super lightweight to wear.
Shelly it turned out quite nicely, pop out for an Irish whiskey & you’ll feel better 😊
😆
Hi Shelley. 👋🏼
My new neighbor has a Jeep with dozens of duckies. It reminds me of you. ☺️🦆
Hehehehe my mom calls my ducks a safety hazard :)
Hi Shelly
Thank you for your review Shelly 🌞
The name of the foundation sounded promising but you showed that it is NOT extremely skin-caring. I'll skip trying this foundation based on that x
I think it oxidized a few shades on you and takes away from your beautiful porcelain skin
Just a side comment, how did you get your teeth so white? It looks amazing! Any product reviews on that? Love your channel! :)
The dentist can whiten them. But the hygienist I go to said to use any store brand and just leave it twice as long as directions say. I did that with Crest 3D Whitestrips and it worked. Also the dentist’s office they sold - at cost - the Philips Sonicare toothbrush. That makes a HUGE difference in removing stains from teeth. I was shocked.
I just very lazily use Crest Whitestrips (as in, I probably only remember to do them like once a month), and my toothpaste alternates between Colgate Optic White and Crest Brilliance.
Shelly, you are gorgeous but this foundation was perhaps one of the worst I have seen on you. I do wonder how you would get on with some of these products when you got back to your own water and usual skin care routine at home.
This one is just average. Doesn’t do much for you.
