Wet n Wild claims to be cruelty free and PETA certifies them as such. They made news in mid-2019 when it was discovered that they were selling products in mainland China, where aftermarket animal testing is required by law. Many web sites declared Wet n Wild no longer cruelty free. In 2014, China’s regulations changed such that non-special-use cosmetics (items like foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick, etc that do not make any “functional” claims) that are manufactured in China can be sold in China without animal testing. The Wet n Wild products sold in China are manufactured in China and fall under this set of regulations. After reviewing the regulations, I am comfortable considering Wet n Wild to be cruelty free, though I’m not a fan of how they handled the secrecy around their Chinese sales and the aftermath of it making the news. I'm a high-end slore when it comes to makeup I'm trying to switch over to drugstore to save money without losing quality. I bought this today and honestly it's seriously pretty I'm a little mad at myself I've spent so much money on fancy foundations and this $6 foundation looks this good. Also picked up the cyo I haven't tried it yet. Im impressed.
Tonight I'm reviewing the $1.88 AOA drop foundation and I don't want to spoil it, but... holy cow. The drugstore is figuring things out!

How did I miss this one? Well rectified that now. Only recently got my hands on the tinted hydrator from them and I'm absolutely in love. I put it on without primer and it blurred my pores and felt so lovely. Wore really nice for the few hours it was on too. Then I started thinking about the photofocus dewy and knew you must have done a review on it. Thanks for this Shelly.

Can't thank you enough for your help. I'm 63 my skin at your age started changing no longer oily with each passing year felt drier and continued. The wnw dewy foundation life changing. I also appreciate your help with shades ended up choosing shell ivory perfect neutral. The same using sponge/brush ended up treating myself as well to beauty blender plus cleanser. 🥰✨

I love that you put together your bottom lashes too like a lot of the mua’s do like Charlotte Tilbury and Scott Barns. It makes the eyes look like they sparkle:)

Thank you for the honest review. I'll be trying this one at some point after I work through the foundations I have. I recently bought the original photo-focus because it was 1/2 price and I enjoy that although I'm more of a radiant person.

Fabulous review. This looks and sounds beautiful. My only concern are my dry patches. Ever since I upped the Tretinoin in my Curology I’ve been dealing with even more:( Just have to adapt.

I agree. The whole secrecy on them selling in China was concerning. Plus, I'm not 100% trusting that they found a way to produce it in China to make it cruelty free.
I hope they r cruelty free bc that is some foundation will b watching like I monitor Loreal and wet/wild
It would actually be more cost-effective if they are manufacturing in China, so I have no doubt it's true. I also heard they've been manufacturing in China for years. It's one of the first mainstream, commercial brands that has taken pride in being CF, and has made a point of stating that fact (long before it became such a popular stance), and if you think about it, the decision to finally sell in China came immediately after China revised their testing mandates.
I really don't trust anything made in China. Communist governments don't care about safety and quality standards. I studied in China for a semester and believe me there is no value for life in that country, do you really think they care about make up quality and chemical ingredients?? I highly doubt it. Read all labels.
I've been WAITING for you to review this!!!!!! LOL. Would also love to see your take on the new Elf Hydrating Camo Concealer. Neither of the originals of the wet n wild photo focus or the elf camo concealer worked well for my really dry skin! So the new releases REALLY sparked my interest!
I picked up the concealer! Haven't tried it yet - and same, the regular camo concealer did not work for me. I'm hopeful for the hydrating one!

The Camo concealer was too dry for me as well so I was excited to try the Hydrating version. Just as I did for the Camo concealer, I bought the two lightest shades, Fair Beige and Fair Rose, and although both lines have the same shade names, they are significantly different. Both shades in the Camo line are very fair, one is neutral and one is slightly cooler, and almost too light for my NW10 skintone, but the Hydrating ones are 1-2 shades darker than my skintone and very yellow. I'm really unhappy that I can't use any of them and I just don't understand how this can happen. I know different formulas can alter the shade range slightly but this is a drastic difference, especially at the very fair end of the spectrum. Sorry for the long explanation but if you're as fair as I am, you'll be out of luck with this one.
Cara M. Don’t apologize for a lengthy reply when you’re giving good information. I didn’t know they were making a hydrating formula. I tried the original and after one go, it went right to my daughter. My under eye area actually itched from the original. Guess I won’t be trying the new one if it’s that dark. Shelly and I are pretty close in skin tone too. Things that match her generally match me.

I actually wear foundation and concealer about 1, sometimes 2, shades lighter than Shelly so the lightest shade in the Hydrating concealer may work for you but I don't think it will be brightening and could potentially be too yellow for you as well. For reference, Shelly wears Estee Lauder DW in 1C1 Cool Bone, which is too dark and almost orange on me and until their recent shade expansion, there wasn't a match for me. Thankfully, they added 4 lighter options, of which 1C0 Shell, the 2nd lightest, is a perfect match. Shelly also wears NW15 in MAC which is 2 shades darker than what I wear, NW10. If you are closer to my skintone, the Hydrating concealer doesn't have a shade for you but if you're closer to Shelly, it may. Hope this helps!

This foundation looks really nice and a good color match. I never tried any of the Wet n Wild foundations because of the smell.....the. PF Pillow Talk is sure close to the CT, one.

Hi Shelly! Thank you for including the CYO Lifeproof foundation in 101 in your swatches. That is my favorite foundation and the 101 is the only shade that is closest to my perfect match. ❤❤❤
CYO in 101 is also a great match for me but, if you're looking for other options, my two other favorites are MAC Studio Fix Fluid in NW10 and YSL All Hours in BR10, both of which are a bit cooler but almost identical to 101. There's no difference on me when applied. I do find that 101 has a slightly grey undertone, something I like, and the Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream in shade 13 is just as light with that same undertone.
Well, it’s a good thing you bought two! I get broken foundation bottles in the mail all the time, from all different sources. I am always sent a new one in its place.

I’m with you on the Ulta rant! I have had stuff come to me broken multiple times and I agree with you, it takes a lot longer to ship as well (not counting this Covid-19 time). But on the flip side, they are really good about sending out a replacement 😊

Thank you for reviewing these shades of the dewy foundation which was my match on shade finder btw I'm using 22B shade of Tarte foundation and concealer so I am kinda in doubt between shell ivory and rose ivory (3rd shade is buff bisque but it's darker). Your review help alot 'cause due to corona they don't have testers in Turkey and my mission is: 'I will buy whatever I can from Wet N Wild while I'm in Turkey'. Never used the brand before and I'm gonna try all their products :D I have combination skin and some pimple scars and I know its a dewy formula but most of my other foundations are oil free matte formulas and after a couple of hours, despite setting powder, my skin starts to get a little oily so I gave up my matte expectations lol. I will go to Wet N Wild counter tomorrow to check the shades IRL ,that I found online. Great video review. Glad I found you :)

This is the first I’ve watched your videos. Was shocked when you said you were 45. You look a lot younger. I think regular skin care, sun screen etc makes all the difference. My future daughter in law is from Long Island - I’m from London so I send her my shopping lists for CVS. She’s getting me this foundation. It will be months before it hits the UK. Nice! I'm so glad this performed pretty well - coz I liked the look of the finish, and I think the undertone of both the rose & the shell shades I could get away with and are quite pretty (no overt orange or yellow).. hope we get it soon, coz W&W here don't charge us much more than the exchange rate equivalent price (unlike the likes of Maybelline, Loreal, Revlon, Elf, Milani, etc who all charge us twice to triple the US prices).

Think I've found my holy grail! It's the cheapest and best I've found! I have extremely dry skin and for $5, none of the other drugstore foundations I've tried compare to performance or price. Didn't feel tight or settle in my fine lines. Since I'm 50, it's a winner for this bargain babe! Great review!🏆

Wow Shelly! This looks fantastic on you!! 😍 It Gives You That Healthy Hydrated glowing goodness to your skin. Really like this one on you, color and all! Its not overly dewy so you don't look like a grease ball and its not so faint you barely see it. Definite keeper in my opinion. I think 8 hrs wear is pretty good for what your paying for it and on average that's about all you need to get you through a work day. You prob could freshen it up A bit and go back out for the evening. I wonder how well it would do on norm to dry combo? Might have to check it out. Bummer with the breakage on the other shade. Hopefully you will have no issues returning it and getting A replacement or refund. I'm very interested in the Revlon Age Rewind line they just released. The 2 reviews I've seen on it (Allura & Allie Gaines) gave it great reviews but neither in my opinion have "mature" enough skin. I need that 45 + review lol to convince me. Would definitely like to hear your thoughts on A wear test of the line. Foundation, blush, lips and concealer specifically. Not really interested in the powder as much. I was trying to figure out which Revlon is the new one when I was in CVS yesterday and then they all looked like I'd seen them before - so I have to go back and look and see if my CVS just doesn't have the new ones yet or if I'm mistaking the new release for an older one!
@@goow I know I've seen it in stores here at Walmart. Others have said they are on amazon as well. Allura Beauty Channel did a review of all the new line if that helps as a reference. I believe its in white and gold packaging now. 🤔

Same! The foundation is now my daily go to! It's gorgeous & doesn't cling to any dry patches or make me break out. I get so many compliments on my skin!
Yes, she did the Believe line shortly after it came out. ☺ I remember that one because she had to go to several different stores to get the line and it still took a couple of months after that for it to show up in my store!

Ulta's shipping process is horrendous!!!! My last order I placed took over a month to get, after about 2 wks UPS said my order was lost and I had to open a claim, 2 wks later the order showed up 💁 Ulta cld have cared less that I had to wait that long and they where not helpful at all....
With all due respect, what happens once the package has been turned over to the delivery service, it's no longer the responsibility of the shipper...
@@xamyx2205 That isn't entirely true, as a business owner myself I realize mistakes happens, isolated incidents, but frm what I am reading Ulta has been struggling with their carrier for some time now and at some point they do have to take responsibility... They chose UPS not me
@Denise Vasquez Lemrick I agree! Ulta is great about getting my orders ready and picked up, but they dropped the ball with choosing UPS as their carrier and not expecting more frm them.... After all Ulta is paying UPS good I'm money I'm sure and UPS isn't holding up their end of the agreement. If this was the first time this had happened to me it wldnt be a big deal but it has happened dozens of times over about a year and a half time period

The finish and shade look very good on your skin. Bummer about the broken bottle. :-/ I hated the original formula of Wet n Wild PhotoFocus when I tried it a couple of years ago. It made my skin look so dry and textured, I looked like I was 100 years old! Ugh!! I wasn't sure I even wanted to try this new formula but I'm always on the lookout for dewy finish foundation, just hope it doesn't fall into all of my lines and wrinkles. Always a good thing when Ziva makes an appearance! :D

Great that this foundation is an A*! I recently purchased the original and I did not detect the smell everyone was talking about so I wonder if they've removed it? I will get this dewy one. I gots to have the glow at age 56 or else I look like I'm 10 years older.
I love that your kitty was with you at the end. She's beautiful and I love the lighter patches on her neck and face. So adorable. I have a gray kitty too. She was a stray that just showed up at our house and she's been my baby ever since. That's not my kitty in my pic. It's an iguana. I'll cuddle anything.
Wow I wonder if they changed the original! You would've definitely noticed the smell if it was still there lol. It's undeniable - like you've literally just painted the room.
Loved your review process as always. it was not good on my dry skin and when it broke apart after 5 hours, it looked like lace. For some reason, the original formula worked better, especially on my chin of large pores.

Ahhh cool. The original didn't work for me. Nice to have lower end options. Especially when recommending to my girls or their friends. Ulta is funny. I got a package yesterday & I think it came in 3 days or less? Then sometimes it can be over a week. Prob depending on how busy they are?

Hi Jeana! I didn't have very good luck with the Elf. It only wears for about 6 hours on me before it starts breaking down, and looks quite dry on me. I looved the original because it was such a great color match for me, easy to use and inexpensive BUT the smell! I finally stopped using it because that can’t be good for your skin., literally like opening a paint can and wearing it lol I will definitely try now since you mentioned the smell is better
