Thank you, yeah the 6112 is a great little system, but the keypads are really hard to find.

Now if only I could find my RAM dongle and Hayes SmartModem 2400…
OR.. if my 5200 would still be able to power up and had the capacity of the newer handlers…
I’d be a happy guy again.
I have a 246 point D9412 installation in my home w/38 smoke heads (Hochiki 2-wire heads on 8x 2-wire loop modules) and 12 D1255 alpha keypads. A little over 70,000’ of wire (each point and each device was home run w/ 20/4 stranded jacketed shielded cable) was run, along with 18/4 fire wire for the smoke heads and for fire horn-strobe annunciators.
Everything runs to a dedicated room in the basement w/ plywood walls for easy mounting of hardware.
I mounted 12 Radionics fire cabinets with a gutter raceway running all around the top and mounted octo -popits and octo -relays and all of the other gear inside the housings.
I have 2 alpha keypads wired directly to the panel’s DC out - master bedroom and foyer - for reliability in the event of secondary power supply failure or issues. I also installed a Radionics dual battery charger and 4x 9ah 12vdc SLA batteries for the panel and primary devices. Everything else, motion det’s, 1255 alphas, etc.. is powered from a 10a DC power supply w 2x 33ah batteries for backup.
    Now… the problems?
My central station, owned by an old friend , was sold and the inbound receiver phone lines were moved and changed.
    And… PROGRAMMING! 😢
I sold my alarm company after I was diagnosed with AS (Ankylosing Spondylitis) and the pain got too bad for me to continue.
Every week or so, I get a call from an old customer asking questions about service and programming . I have no decent dealers left to refer them to.

Geez this sounds like what my setup would be if I had my own place lol. Really is a shame that the companies that service them are becoming less common, really great systems assuming you know how to program them correctly. Is your 5200 just missing its handlers or is there another issue with it? I've got pretty much all of the Radionics and Honeywell handlers backed up, if the programmer is losing it's memory you can just replace the lithium battery onboard and it'll be fine again.

can you do a vid of the tools you need to program and how to

To program a 6112 panel you need a 5200 programmer with the 6112 handler installed. This video shows most of programming, but the program entry guide gives a more detailed description of the options.
