    Thank you for your insight about UM! I am looking for a work from home position in UM and I don’t have any prior experience so is making me really nervous. I’ve been a nurse for going on seven years this year in various areas and it sounds like this may be a challenge to transition but I’m gonna take it head-on❤

    I just watched this video,started a UR position back in November. I'm still trying to learn how it all works, I did some UR from the payor side, but the hospital side is much more stressful. We don't use Milimans or Interqual. There is a different system for determining med necessity. I'm stressed out ALOT, worrying about messing up something, and causing the hospital to loose money

    • @Iamcourtneynoel
      @Iamcourtneynoel  3 года назад +7

      Hi there it’s normal to be stressed out in the beginning just remember if you make a mistake nobody dies! Mistakes in UR can be corrected!

      Sounds way less stressful than bedside nursing. Lmao who cares if the hospital loses money? As long as they don't fire you, it's fine.

    With is the difference between a UR nurse and Inpatient concurrent review nurse, ty Courtney!

    • @Iamcourtneynoel
      @Iamcourtneynoel  2 года назад +2

      So essentially they are the same thing one is more specialized! So being a UR Nurse is the umbrella and being an inpatient concurrent review nurse is specific and could mean that you don’t do the initial admission review you review the patients stay while they are inpatient until discharge. This nurse is still a UR nurse 😊

    How much does UR pay? Is it more than bedside? Are they all 5 days a week?

    • @Iamcourtneynoel

      UR pay can vary depending on the facility and some ppl work 3x12s mostly ED, 4x10s and of course 5 days depending on the facility
