Baraka has his spinning attack. He also does a hard stun punch like Jax can do at close range. His blade attack adds a knockdown sound after the other player falls down. 1 player mode does not work yet? It just shows the 1 Player CPU tower go up and down the roster list, Kung Lao is in Kintaro's place, no Shao Kahn yet. When a player joins a game it says 'Player One has entered the Tour ament!' Some of Liu Kangs' sounds are different-his flying kick battle cry sound is longer too.His bycycle kick is completely different sound. Fatality theme is different. There is a score tally and returning fight stats at the end of the round-even though no score is present (just the 00 WINS tally). Reptile possibly doesnt have his slide yet. His force ball has different sound effect. Johnny Cage has his Otomix pants, not edited out yet. Kitana's fatality has a different sound and visual effect when her opponent explodes. Jax's ground pound has no visual (or barely any) effect yet. Raiden doesn't have electricity out of his fingers when he wins. Bios are blank, just their portraits. 12:38 So Baraka's spinning blade really was planned to be a special move from the beginning. I always assumed the MK Trilogy team just recycled some t-pose test frames into a "new move". That all the claims by the public that it was a lost MK2 move were merely based on assumption. Strange they call this version 0.1. This seems way too deep in development to be assigned an alpha version number.
I always wondered how they made those new moves in MK Trilogy, but I read on The Cutting Room Floor that they were almost all originally in the MK2 data. Baraka also has that flying kick move unused in MK2.
There were quite a few special moves that were removed in the original three games, and added later on in Trilogy and also in the 3D era games. Kano's knife furry attack (deleted from MK1, later added in MK Trilogy), Johnny Cage's backflip special move (deleted from MK1, and then added 10 years later for MK Deadly Alliance), Baraka's blade spin (deleted from MK2, later added to Trilogy) and Kung Lao's flying Superman move (deleted from MK2 and later added to MK Trilogy) are just a few examples.
The move was actually shown and listed in a very early magazine preview, I believe EGM, so it wasn’t rumor. Most people don’t remember the article though, so it has fallen into legend.
@@LeftyPem I also remember seeing it listed in a move list printed by another magazine, I don't think it was EGM. I just remember it had "Spin" in the name. MK2 is definitely more polished then MK3/UMK3, but UMK3 is a far superior competitive fighting game than MK2. I also LOVE the apocalyptic, gothic city backdrop of MK3/UMK3. UMK3 is one of the greatest fighters ever. The physics/combo system creates an endless skill ceiling and so much more possibility that MK2. Too much nostalgia surrounding MK2 from casual players. MK2 is great but has nothing on UMK3.
Yea UMK3 with its busted mess of infinite combos and glitches lol . Lay off the paint thinner, kid. You contradict yourself. If MK2 is more polished, then that would make it the better and more viable competitive game. The reason UMK3 is played more competitively is because it was the last of the 2D games.
@Dude Man. There is no contradiction. Mk2 definitely had more time put into the sprites and colors, animations. There are a lot of things in UMK3 that were left unfinished. Fatality color pallets that are innacurate. Weird stuff that is largely inconsequential to the actual flow of the combat. But the core gameplay, the mechanics of UMK3 reign supreme. Spoken from 10's of thousands of matches, tourneys attended, UMK3 is a high-level, fast-paced adrenaline-fest that is fair and balanced you just have to have the reflexes, knowledge and senses to play at high levels. The inclusion of the run button was a huge advancement toward the pace of play, too. No other MK game anyway has compared to the sheer speed of UMK3. MK2 was great when it came out and still an important fighter. I'm not saying it's trash, just that as a competitive fighter, it's so far behind UMK3. And I'm glad that in my mid 30's you think I look so youthful. 😉

The coolest thing about this version is Johnny Cage's pants. The rest of it is interesting, but not very cool without the blood. The music is really annoying on the demo screens. It repeats over and over and over. I'm glad they shortened that in the final version.
This is pretty neat.
Just purchased the A1Up MKII Midway legacy cab and been loving the MK games. Nothing like playing with the correct button layout. MK has to be the most iconic straight up bad ass fighter of all time. The first game is my personal favorite. Part 2 a very close second.
Notice that blood is off during Kombat.

Amazing find!!
The picture of mileena is so beautiful she looks stunning
sooo awesome.. so far i can say there was no blood splaters and reptiles sphere makes character idle to come closer instead the knockdown animation..!!! jhonny cage have that word on one legs. im not shure if it was later removed... there is no shao kan voices. no blood drop sound on the fatality screen... whoooaaa baraka doing a spining tornado... kitana balloon fatality makes no bones and blood.
Really interesting how high kicks cause a knockdown. I wonder why they changed that.
Niiice job dude!!!!... Excellent material!
Wow! This is early in the game’s development. There’s no announcer or blood (well, the fatalities themselves have blood anyway.)

So The Wastelands was like the placeholder or testing music back then.
6:13 super delayed reaction time lol
Awesome! Was this released by Ed Boon on Twitter as part of the 30th anniversary?
Nice Looks Very Cool
Awesome!
Amazing find!!!
I wish someone could find the nba jam Jordan builds and the nba hang time Chicago build with the breaking backboard feature.
What is the writing on Jonny Cage's pant leg?
Otomix
Nice!!!! great find sir
Does anyone remember a version of MK2 in the arcades where subzero could do his perma-freeze mid-match? Please help me find it!
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀 Great Find
Shame the direction they went with MK3. Mortal Kombat II just oozes atmosphere and style.
Is this the version where you could walk on the ceiling
Katalin is the only kitana
This is the footage that was used in the promotional video?
great man
Now some dump the wavenet roms
Interesting that the same footage here from this video was used in the Arcade promo video of the game which was uploaded by yourself 9 years ago ruclips.net/video/iTMMfCeFo00/видео.html
Yes, but not in raw and complete form like this.
@@YourMKArcadeSource No of course but the same footage none the less, an amazing find tho, I hope more like this turns up in the future.
Not Sub Zero Wins… Not fighte… not Finish Him…. 😂

Nice
Ainda tinha a marcação de pontos, como em MK1, no lugar das moedas.
Hope someone finds this rom and leak it. Really want to see a full playthrough
Well, there's some news of the source code leak for MK2. Unused sprites and stages props have been unearthed. Hopefully, it will be added to the MK2 plus project. Which is using existing software of original arcade.
@@JoeyXSmith thank you! It's like a MK2: Director's Cut. Hope to see that version soon
Doesn’t even seem like the the actual version
Crazy!
Why does it look wide
