Joanna Whalley is such a gem of an actress. She is beautiful, smart, and a wonderful talent. I think this was perfectly cast. Thank you so much for these uploads!
I agree. Rhett Butler has so much, he has a hard time not spreading it around too quickly doesn't he? I think he even meant to insult The Woman by impregnating her after she spread that malicious gossip about Scarlett. After that he considered southern gentility that he must marry her. Now who is the aimless passionate one- Rhett Butler of course. He was smarter when he stayed at the whorehouse where women could not get pregnant. Fairy Tail that he didn't give Scarlett something because in reality that's how that would have played out. It's a great story but stories are often better than reality. It's better to have great epic stories so that young people are inspired. Margaret Mitchell knew that, but as soon as the book was finished I suppose her success was more than her (soon-to-be divorced )husband could take
Starting three now.. ohh goodness what women went through during those days to bare children.. such a beautiful house Scarlett has bought.. I can see why it would be so grand to live in Ireland.. amazing country that's suffered lot during the 17th, thru the 19th century.. I've always wanted to see Ireland but never able to afford this.. now on see what part 3 holds😊..
Another spoiler. You just refuse to respect others who haven't seen this yet, just as previously. What a child you are. Not one detail should be mentioned.
As with the original GWTW, the book Scarlett is far better than the film adaptation. Also, one must wonder why all the sex scenes were added? God's nightgown! There are no parts of the book that even slightly describe the Earl of Felton's debauchery. It's alluded to, but tastefully, with no soft porn required to get the point across. Thank God one can skip those scenes! 😳🤦♀️
The blatant shooting of Father Colin was a total surprise as it was so overt!!! Having seen this before, it was a LITTLE less shocking, but nefarious nonetheless, and certainly solidified the vileness of Lord Fenton's character, though there were many men during those times, especially Englishmen, who had no regard for their servants or the people they ruled in the peasantry, as they saw it!!! It was the times there, just as the times of slavery here in America, n the attitude that many of the rich and people in control also had of the slaves n the lower classes they controlled!!! These attitudes were VERY prevalent then, yet no less horrific to us today!!! Quite disturbing in this otherwise beautiful period piece!!!
I think they got a lot wrong. Margaret Mitchell would hate the book and movie sequel. The point at the end of GWTW was that Tara was her one true love. Mitchell wasn't fond of the first movie, Hollywood changed her book into soap opera. The book is very different.
I never understood "Chasing the Hounds". Very English, of course. So glad Americans don't have royalty to bow to. I would hate it. This Ashley is better looking than the old one. I never thought he the other was handsome.
@@elizabethmelnychuk6034 of course you should be proud. DNA, I'm 48 % British Isles, which even the king doesn't have that much. My maiden name is Smith & my mom is Brown, so there you go. I have never been there. My earliest ancestors have been in America since the late 1700's so they were here before Ellis Island. My husband is only 2nd generation. So my great-great grandpa fought in the Civil War, and his brother was killed in battle., so I certainly relate to this movie. No one should bow down to a man. The bible says every knee shall bow one day to Jesus, so no man is worthy of that honor except him.
I love watching Timothy Dalton. He's perfect for this part.

Rhett married on the rebound
Nope, he seduced the woman and felt obligated to marry her.
More likely he married because he had already compromised the lady. Don't think he loved her.

I love Sean Bean! I know he plays a very nasty part in this, but he is a very versatile actor. He is also handsome and classy.

Rachel Dowling, Bridie O'Hara, is magnificent. I first met her in the series, "Ballykissangel," on PBS, a decade, or so ago.

Mixed their Catholicism with their superstition.

You, Lisa, must learn to not comment with even one detail that spoils it for others.
This is why I don't read the comments until i watched the program or movie.@donnabaardsen5372
The Irish suffered much earlier than that by the English. Since the Middle ages.
Sean Bean is in this!

Wish they could have finished this series
Scarlett sure made her share of poor decisions....
And yet she always landed on her feet.
What is the chapter book Scarlett begins to read to Suellen??
Start at the beginning
Omg. This is so bad! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Although Red Butler is Southern, he seems to be Carpetbagger, all the way clean though and though ... A Simple Carpetbagger
She plays Scarlet perfectly but they should of had her wear blue contacts

Timothy Dalton is a great actor in this film.
This movie has good actresses and good actors in it. I enjoy these movies and i hope to see more.

I am a Canadian , seventh generation and thrilled to be part of the British Commonwealth and a loyal subject of the King.🇨🇦

Ann Margret and Colm meanery play the part real well,
Get the ice bag from the yellow bathroom. It will be high at night
Sean Bean plays evil so well!
I love this mini series but it is so much different from the book....
Scarlett cousin is a good friend to her
Did Rhett go to Ireland hoping to run into Scarlett seeing as he’d heard rumors she was there?
Probably
