its actually the recording thats been speeded up.you can tell by the key being higher and the slight chipmunk sound to his voice.one of the all time greats,he kicks ass
I was at the Angels Camp ROR show in '86. i had a gut feeling a Live album or something would come out. Well we got the MTV special and a couple videos and tracks. Somewhere someone must have the soundboard of the video and audio. Probably MTV if they didn't destroy it like some of their r Live Aide stuff. And that show was magical!
That is correct. Steve never toured his Street Talk album as he almost immediately went to work on ROR after making videos for this album, which took quite some time.
@carol1011398 Absolutely! I wrote to Sony recently and told them they were missing the mark by not putting them out. Columbia Records, I believe, is their subsidiary-and therefore I'm guessing they would own the rights...
That's literally the kind of music they were playing in all honesty. All of Steve Perry's solo stuff in that era was pretty much Journey tunes in my book.
I still love Steve's voice, no matter what! Strong, powerful, hits those high notes with ease! He's a Natural!!!
I wish Journey would put out a dvd of their Frontiers and ROR concert tour. They would probaly sell tons of them.
The Single Greatest Rock Singer Of All Time!
Oh Mariet, you've outdone yourself again!

Steve Perry is Steve Perry's backup singer.
super cool
Me gusta mucho esta cancion
I agree, I don't like it faster, but Steve is incredible, his voice is even more powerful and clear then studio version...

I think this is faster than the studio version, right? Thanks for posting. I love Steve Perry.
I have never seen this picture.

@bourg000
This isn't journey its just Steve Perry lol
Do we know where this was recorded?
They sort of did with Frontiers And Beyond but ROR would be the stuff dreams are made of.
no kiddin... this is even a little bit high for the almighty perry to pull off lol
yep .. now im sure of it .. he definately made a deal with tha devil ..
tape is running too fast
NOT a soundboard recording
steve perry owes his soul to the devil ..
Journey should have never played this....they have too many great rock songs to play this kind of song
