- This dreamy Apple butter marzipan bread from the fall chapter of MY BOOK is a must bake for fall! Pillowy soft clove bread envelopes layers of marzipan, apple butter and cranberry compote. Top with a drizzle of icing and it’s autumnal perfection! I was in Los angeles for my book tour and my friend Rie McClenny was kind enough to come to my mom's house and make this delicious bread with me! John, you will probably never see this, but I want you to know that you have changed my entire life. I was so depressed that I wasn't good at anything and I had no passion. Since discovering you, I have a newfound passion for baking! I've been baking for about half a year now and I love it! Everyone who eats what I make seems to think I'm good at it too. People even want to buy baked goods from me! Now I have a dream to someday open my own bakery!! You have no idea how big this is for me, but I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I finally feel like I have a purpose.

Oooh, that's how it's done! I didn't know taking a notch from the ends and folding it over would help with the filling to not ooze out, but also making the end result look pretty. I would always force fold the criss cross end pieces over and make a mess. Thank you for the helpful tips you share with us. Very much appreciated!

I have the same KitchenAid stand mixer!! Got it for my bridal shower in 1982… lol… I just realized how old I am. Never thought of my mixer as vintage 😅

Looks like my KitchenAid from the 80s!!! Tell your mom to not get a new one unless hers dies and can't be repaired. Don't be seduced by the beautiful color choices you have now; the old KitchenAids are AWESOME!!!

I'm so glad you made this video. I looked at this recipe in your book and for some reason I just couldn't wrap my head around the braiding of the dough. You were right. Seeing it really does make it much more clear.

This recipe is fanfreakingtastic! It was my Saturday morning project and it was fun to make, plus everyone loved it. While my diet took a bit of a hit due to eating three slices of this with butter, it was incredibly enjoyable!

I e been making a delicious carrot cake for decades. The cake has crushed ,drained pineapple in it, and the cream cheese has finely grated orange rind. Crumbled walnuts on top and chopped walnuts in the cake ,also white raisins in cake
