Marvelous Marvin Hagler (born Marvin Nathaniel Hagler; May 23, 1954 - March 13, 2021)[2] was an American professional boxer and film actor. He competed in boxing from 1973 to 1987 and reigned as the undisputed champion of the middleweight division from 1980 to 1987,[3] making twelve successful title defenses, all but one by knockout.[4][5][6][7][8][9] Hagler also holds the highest knockout percentage of all undisputed middleweight champions at 78 percent. His undisputed middleweight championship reign of six years and seven months is the second-longest active reign of the last century.[10] He holds the record for the sixth longest reign as champion in middleweight history.[11] Nicknamed "Marvelous" and annoyed that network announcers often did not refer to him as such, Hagler legally changed his name to "Marvelous Marvin Hagler" in 1982.[12]
Hagler is an inductee of the International Boxing Hall of Fame and the World Boxing Hall of Fame. He was twice named Fighter of the Year by The Ring magazine and the Boxing Writers Association of America, as well as Fighter of the Decade
My favourite boxer ever, no question, was an inspiration to me. Not only his ability but his character too. They don’t make em like that anymore.
A true legend.
RIP Marvellous Marvin Hagler ❤
SAME!!!!! Love Marvin Hagler!!!!
My Dad Dated his Aunt in Jersey. I saw his trophies and amatuer medals at her house. Tons of them!
Hagler was from the old cloth
The Boss! Love Marvin Hagler man,His tenacity and pure mental power enabled him to fight anyone.BTW.Mohamad Ali will always be The Greatest.
My favourite boxer of all time no one come close to the marvellous
Thanks for watching and sharing it's important for my Channel please.
He is without a doubt the greatest middleweight of all times ,above monson and Robinson because he stayed in middleweights and dominated ,Robinson moved up and down and partying too much
@@ElTerribleProduction thanks to you for the great content 👍
Except of course that sugar ray Leonard outboxed him completely
You are damn right about that!
Hagler destroyed everyone who challenged his middleweight crown and retired most of the his opponents. He was robbed on a few occasions but understood it was better to leave it up to his own hands to do the judging. There will never be another like him. A true warrior and incredible champion. All hail the king of the ring Marvelous Marvin Hagler. RIP Champ
As a 70s 80s kid we were spoilt with some of the greatest boxers of all time but Marvin Hagler was the best.Such power stamina and skill.
We were all blessed to be alive during the Marvelous one's career.
What a privilege to see MARVELOUS MARVIN HAGLERS career he was the greatest middleweight in boxing history sure miss him !
Marvelous was very level headed in the ring.
He just worked until the other guy couldn't work any more.
I like it.
My favourite boxer ever. RIP Marvellous Marvin Hagler ✌❤🙏
my first poster that hung in my bedroom as a kid was marvelous Marvin hagler. RIP champ.
Thank you for putting this great video together. One of my favourite boxers.
May the Marvellous one rest in peace.
RIP Marvellous One, who always boxed like you were trying to literally take food off his table. He brought it every time. He is one of the greatest of all times because he fought all of the greatest of all times.
Used to see Marvin, his wife, and kids quite often in N Conway, NH. We’d see him hanging out watching our softball games or just walking through town. He hung out at the bar I worked at and loved to chat with us. He was a great human being with an ego that remained completely in check when out of the ring. Still miss him.
Somebody said a while back, that if you fed data into a computer, to produce a perfect fighting machine, the result would be M. MARVIN HAGLER.
His physique and presence is perfect, and intimidating.
Carved out of polished granite.
RIP MMH.
True legend!!! No one came near him as a middleweight although there were many great legends in the middleweight class. He was strong, strong physically, iron chin, can fight southpaw and orthodox. Possessed knockout punch in both hands. Mentally and physically strong man.
You'll always be Marvelous! Marvin.
Marvin is a legend.
Nah.. Heart disease kicked his ass.... Fail.

One of my childhood idols ! What a legend
Mine too
They're known as the four kings & rightly so. Hagler, Duran, Leonard & Hearns were class & we'll never see the likes of them again but for me Marvellous Marvin Hagler wore the crown. He was something special & a true warrior and legend. Shame he didn't fight in the UK again after the Minter fight but that was a disgrace the way that he got treated that night. Definitely my favourite boxer of all time. RIP Champ.
He was truly Marvelous
He wasn’t marvelous, he as a MACHINE😎
Hagler was incredible, a super athlete .
What a fighter what a warrior what a boxer , fearless and would stand toe to toe if he had against any man my favourite fight was against Mugabi who was a great fighter himself they both stood and gave everything until Mugabi eventually couldn’t take anymore, I still say he was robbed against Leonard who was the golden boy, outside the ring Hagler was a true gentleman, this man was took from us to soon A TRUE LEGEND
Not only technically amazing but had so much controlled fierce aggression
Marvelous was an absolute legend 🥊
My favourite boxer, Marvellous Marvin Hagler... RIP Champ🥊
The wrecking machine of his era. Bald head years before it was fashionable, left to grow 2 or 3 days before each fight to rub against opponents in clinches for extra pain and damage. Definitely a guy who maximised every ounce of his magnificent being in pursuit of victory.
RIP "marvelous' one, true boxing legend will live forever in the boxing "Hall of fame"!! 🥊🥊🥊
That Hearns fight was, and still is, the most intense round of boxing I have ever seen.
Agree 100%
Many consider it some of the best round in boxing. That fight started HOT
imo I think Foreman vs Frazier round 2 was crazier than
My favourite boxer too Billy. Even though he destroyed our great hope Alan Minter. Marvelous Marvin had only one direction...forward...take the fight to the enemy! He would fight toe to toe with anyone....never retreating...always coming at his opponent. I'd have loved to have met him. I have such admiration for him. He had the heart of a lion.
it's quite incredible to think, we have actually gone backwards in what boxers are capable of today at the highest level,
compared to absolutely dedicated machines like Hagler.
Men like him were prepared to die in there..
RIP marvellous marvin.
A lot of the people who would have done boxing now do MMA instead. It's sad but it is what it is.
your spot on , i cant think of a middle weight today who could beat Hagler or Hearns . different breed
I think Hagler was the most complete boxer, probably ever. He was a lefty and a righty.
He had long, mid or short range skills beautiful boxer, ferocious attacking fighter and also a classic counter puncher. All wrapped up in a style that was very smooth and effortless.
Boxing definitely changed into a more conservative sport. Elites don’t wanna risk it as much as they did back in the day. Which can make for some amazing chess matches, but very rarely do we get a good brawl with high precision like the 20th century.
Rest in Peace! My favorite fighter pure Warrior heart Marvelous Marvin Hagler!!
He & Mike Tyson are my 2 favorites. Love Marvin Hagler. R.I.P. Champ. oNe LovE from NYC
Yeah same bro, me to. He and mike Like a killing machine..
Rip Marvelous Marvin Hagler..
So glad he was in my time. What an absolute legend.
Never ducked anyone, honor, no b.s. working man. Never lost a fight, no matter what the score card said.
my fav fighter of all time...the Marvelous One
Just absolutely brilliant.
Simply an incredible boxer
Hagler would dismantle the middle weight division in this day and age 🐐
The most precision shots I've ever seen
Marvin was a legend
A monster

Cool video!
Hagler is the best!
A punchig machine with an unbreakable skull.
Il mio idolo. Il migliore.
Nice video. What a golden era for mid-weight fighters. Hagler, Leonard, Hearns, Duran.. Wow!
RIP the goat of boxing Marvelous Marvin Hagler
incroyable marvellous ❤
a complete destroyer...que peleador
Man how good was he just the best pound for pound fighter to have ever have lived for me for me he was that good he had a jaw of granite ( I never saw him even wobble let alone go down ) a bullet proof engine he just never stopped and bombs in both hands and a stinging jab he really did have it all never ducked anyone either he’d fight anyone anywhere he was that confident he’d prevail that said he did lose that fight to Leonard and pains me to say so cos as good as Leonard was ( and he was ) hagler was my favourite fighter of all time
Marvin Hagler was the greatest MW Champion I ever saw in my lifetime. His iron jaw is as great, or greater, than any MW in history. Covid is damn lucky Marvin couldnt see it......
The greatest midderweight of all time❤
Hagler was all man. One of the greatest of all time.
The Boss!Love Marvin Hagler man,His tenacity and pure mental power enabled Him to fight anyone.BTW Muhammad Ali will always be The Greatest.
Pound for pound the greatest boxer of all time
Beast
Only one word needed ... "Marvelous"
He was my favorite boxer! That lunging right hand was absolutely deadly, I remember Hagler vs Hearns like it was yesterday. Great video, it would have been nice to put the opponent's names on screen.
Apponents wilfred scypion ,cave man lee john magabi , Mustapha hamsho, of course hearns and the guy he won the title from just can't get the name.
@@johnlegg8559 Thanks, I couldn't remember some of those guys names to save my life. That fight against John the beast Mugabi was an absolute war!!
@@johnlegg8559 Alan Minter is the name .....
@@Interceptor8v thanks could not get it and just heard it a week ago
Yes next vid I don't forget
The Greatest
Il più grande peso medio di tutti i tempi ❤
RIP Marvellous Marvin Hagler. One of the Four Kings and of the greatest Middleweights ever. Back in an era when the best fought the best. 👍
Most if these fighters of who he knocked out: were number one contenders for,his WBC or WBA title.
The others were top contenders on his way to the top.
Only around 25 of his fights were televised.
I wonder what his early knockouts were like.
One of my favorite boxers of all time the marvelous one a incredible boxer
In my opinion Marvin was greatest ever rip
Thankyou
LIKE, COMMENT AND SHARE PLEASE. THANKS FOR WATCHING
As a teenager I was given a bloody nose for saying that Leonard won their fight! Thanks Billy!
Watching Hagler during his reign as champion reminds why my dad was so enthusiastic about fighters in the 40s/50s. We’re fortunate to see great fighters in different decades and those great champions remain the Greatest fighters pretty much all our lives.
I enjoyed watching these 🥊 🥊 highlights.
The Greatest!
This Man was a Real Fighter. Not a Dancer or A Rope a Dope Dodger.
Yes Sir.
toughest man to ever walk inside a ring.
I never forget when i asked a coworker who won the Hagler Leonard fight? He said ,"Hagler lost" i was shocked, then. When i saw the replay i wasnt surprised..leonard ran..slapped..and did not deserve to win. He deprived the public of Having Haglers great presence and he retired..he was so disgusted he left the USA.. Hagler was the greatest..
And that's why they called him the Marvelous one
Hagler had amazing accuracy.
The greatest!
Marvin is my favorite boxer of all time. Warrior and a legend.
marvellous one was like a modern day gladiator.he didn’t have a sword or a shield.but he’s fists had the same result
PERHAPS THE BEST MIDDLEWEIGHT IN HISTORY
He's great, but there is no better mw, smw and LHW in boxing history than RJJ.
Sugar ray Leonard was better and beat him
@@david9180 You're wrong.
@@david9180Nonsense. Sugar Ray avoided fighting him for years. Until Hagler was well past his prime.
@@johnmc3862 you have hit the nail on the head, waited to fight him after the 2 wars he had against Hearns & Mugabi.
Avoided like the plague when he was in his prime…
I have been a boxing fan since my grandfather brought me to see Ali vs Frasier 2. I was about 8yrs. old(60now). Bruce lee' Fist of Fury movie was shown before the brand new at the time "Close Circuit" coverage of the fight was shown in movie theatres across the world live. I saw my first "Boob" in the movie so I was bound to become a huge boxing the rest of my life. I have seen almost every contender and champ in every weight class there has been. Video of old fights from the past and present if I did not see them live. I will tell you this, there may have been great fighters with more "one punch" knockout power or "Boxer-Dancers' that won many decisions, often questionable, dancing and running but Marvin Hagler is the most dominant boxer ever for the longest time. Very seldom did the judges even have to earn their wages for judging a Hagler beatdown. He has never been knocked down(look at the one they called a knock down it was not). I have seen him hit by some of the hardest hitting middleweight legends of his time and of all time for that matter(Hearns, Mugabi, Duran, Hamsha, Enfermo, etc.). He has never been buckled, hurt or even looked in trouble. Punches that would end others night and career for that matter solicit a smile and a counter punch from Hagler. Thats his iron chin, body, WILL and BADASSNESS accounting for that. Offensively, his opponents often wished they would have been hit by a Tommy Hearns or Beast Mugabi one punch bomb early in their fights with Hagler, but the "Marvelous One" seemed to prefer to tenderize his opponents for a while before utterly destroying their body, spirit and soul often sending them to hospitals for days with broken ribs and concussions after leaving the ring they wish they had never stepped in to. He was ass beating machine who was NEVER hurt in over 50 fights taking on the best fighters for 2 decades! Taking the belt from a champ of his legendary status for a sugarcoated show-boating dancing display was a disgrace that almost ruined boxing for me. It was a sad day for real boxing fans that knew boxing and were not just fans of popular showy celebrity fighters, promoters and TV pundits liked to hype-up and cheer for. More importantly, it was the end of a legendary boxing god, it was the last fight of "The Greatest Fighter Ever" Marvin Hagler!
Marvin was the best! RIP
Hager was (and is) my favorite among the gang of Hearns, Ray Leonard and Duran. I just admired the way he'd corner his opponent and start destroying him.
I still get teary eyed. Gone too soon.
THE BEST 🙏R.I.P Legend
My GOAT. There aren't many who could match his discipline and mental fortitude. His sheer will to win was frightening. A constant switch hitter and devasting KO master.
