Matches me experience with family. Super heavy usage of the available credit limit, then get denied for an increase only to be automatically raised a few months later. Legitimately from $300 to over 5k limit.
Hilarious, I make $140k and got a secured card with them over 10 yrs ago. They still won't graduate the card and rep can't answer why. My Quicksilver has a $9,500 limit but I'm locked in at $800 for life I guess on their Platinum card.
I upgraded the quicksilver to the savor 1 about a week ago. Is the savor 1 able to help me get better increases? My capital one card is the lowest limit card I have in my wallet at 3.9k
Usually Capital One only allows every 180 days. So interesting you're able to do with 120. I tried after 143 just now and it said I had recently received a credit limit increase.
So question I only got approved for the capital one Quicksilver card. My approval amount was only 300. How do I raise that amount and yes in another video you are right when I applied for this card it dropped credit score by 10 points that sucked because I’m just barely starting this journey unfortunately at the age of 52.
I got the card with a 10k max. I used up 90% of my card and paid it off in 4 months with 0% interest. I'm wondering if now is a good time to ask for an increase
it is ! i recently opened my savor in July 16th with a 3k limit within the month i asked for a random increase and was able to get 5k more on that Savor one plus my another 2k on my QS once i upgraded from the reg. Platinum
It depends on what bucket list you're in. If you're in the low bucket, you will be lucky to get one small credit increase once a year This 90, 120 days don't work, even paying your balance off by the statement date and even putting many usage swips on the card. Those in the decent to high bucket list will work just how you been explaining.
I have this card and had a 10k limit. They dropped my limit to 5k. I called them and used the card. But because I paid the balance before the statement they still saw zero! Not happy!
I don’t believe this works for a low end bucket ie:500-1000 limit I honestly think closing those cards in good standing might be better then fighting tooth and nail with them.
Recommendation. If you want to keep the old account credit history. Get a second cap1 card. Use it for 1-2 years. Raise its limit as much as possible. Then close that new card while requesting to have the available credit lines merged. Heard that’s a thing with Cap1.
Use 50% of your credit limit and pay it all off every month when the bill comes in. Do this for 3 months. On the 4th month after you pay off your bill to a $0 balance, ask for a credit increase. Yes your credit score will come down a little but that's only temporarily for the 3 months that you use 50% of your credit limit.
I'm not sure if product changing will help you escape the bucket. I remember you saying this before, and that you have to close one and reopen an account
I have the quicksilver one going on eight years now they kept giving me small credit increases but for some strange reason, I requested Credit increase last week and they gave me $3000 now. The credit line is $4800. I’ve been using the card a lot even going over the limit a few times, but I always paid in full. So let’s see in about four months. I’m gonna do another credit line increase request so hopefully I can get that card to 10k so it looks like I might be out of the bucket I mean, I had the car for eight years with on-time payments
Wow. I started with a secured $200 year and a half ago after bankruptcy, and they had been increasing my limit little by little. I'm at 4500 now. I had been asking for it every few months. Start asking. You never know if they will give you.
I’ve tried everything with capital one. Highest limit is 5k on savor one. My quicksilver is 1200, venture one 2000, bass pro 5000. I’ve product switched and have tried different spending/ payment methods.
Dude like the video consider your self lucky I've had no such luck with Capital one i have three cards with them I have carried 0 balance i have carried a balance under a hundred dollars i have three cards with them my oldest line with them is 9 years i also have three cards with CHASE cards with Amex An AA credit union Capital one treats me like im a irresponsible child so im not asking for an increase from them ever. 😂lol
This doesn’t apply to 90% of the ppl watching this video brotha lol anyone with over a 700 score wouldn’t be watching this video the ppl watching are in the lower buckets looking to see how they can get out capital one is brutal with low credit people
After 6 months of big spend, they raised my Quicksilver from $400 to $3400. I think that i escaped the bucket 😂
Wow! Big congrats on getting that increase Tristin.
@@calbarton Thank you! I had requested one the previous day, but was denied. I was quite surprised when I saw it when I woke up.

I got that on my savor card in may now I’m here
@@jbell8963 That seems to be common. Someone else commented that they got a similar increase.
I make 179k a year and they gave me 300 😂 limit 😂

Man, this was right on time. Just did a CLI request and was approved for an additional 4k on my QS card.
What’s the link for capital one I have had capital one two years no credit increase 🤔

Can you share the product change link? 5:09
when you ask an increase are you asking for the exact $1000 increase? and if so do they sometimes give you more or just that amount you asked?
I always use your advices and strategies, my credit score raises really, thank you 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Cal with Capital one increase requests, are they a Hard pull or a soft pull?
Ok saw it was soft pull. So, I do a annual request on the app then once I recieve my credit statement?
the gave 30k as a starting cl. will be asking cli next month.
Did the request come with a hard pull
He said Cap1 only does soft pulls. U can always call & ask before u request a cli. Better safe than sorry
I don’t believe this works for a low end bucket ie:500-1000 limit I honestly think closing those cards in good standing might be better then fighting tooth and nail with them.
That's a very reasonable opinion. I can't argue with taking your business elsewhere.

Right with those high ass APRs, balance transfer and $ advance fees. Far better off going to a credit union hands down for sure.
