her vibrato is out of this world
I always imagine that when the vibration tones come they moved their studio into a car and started to record while driving on a bumpy road😂
GIFTED VOICE OF THIS FRENCH WOMAN.
THIS VOICE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD.
LOVE THIS SONG!!
Ba oui.
her "trills" are out of this world
I never knew if I overdid it when I used vibrato - or over used it, I mean- and she makes me love it

Edith Piaf's voice is unique

Europe took years to recover from World War 2. When there was little money, and little food, there was the radio, and one of the most popular singers in this era was Edith Piaf. She gave hope and love not only to France, but to most of Western Europe as well.
Henk Spierings you are not mentioned East Europe !!! We love her and were able to hear her songs !!! I new more about her and recognize these beautiful lady than Canadians did !!!
that was really a power of good helped the poor to feel hope....amazing!
Honestly she helped all Europenas
Just like that ending song from Avengers Endgame, “It’s Been A Long, Long Time” was also released right after the war, in a time where soldiers return home and they get to meet their lovers once again, after a long, long time. The song’s rather fitting.
She was far a while the most popular singer in the USA. That's how powerful her voice was.

She was among the unpolished unique and extraordinary gifts from God that the French occasionally love to recognize at the national level. We are so blessed to have had her!

In a small restaurant in Paris, the sun has just set, being replaced by a shining moon. On this fateful evening, you and your lover are sitting outside under an umbrella, talking to each other while a candle illuminates the table. A glass of wine sits half full, and this song starts playing.

There's nothing more to say, later I saw this lady on TV. There is a big difference between a child's feelings and reality. She had started singing on the sidewalks of Paris, her sentimental life agitated. His last love with Théo Sarapo etc ... But I still have the song "la vie en rose" that I listen to from time to time.

There’s really not much else to say… besides this being one of the finest songs ever written. Just unbridled bliss, and sung by Mme. Piaf it lifts the soul- and it always must be sung in French in my opinion.
No hair do's, make up by the tons, almost naked, just excellent music with a woman that have respect for herself, not this gays, sluts he,she,it them fuckt up singers of today!
I don't understand why people don't appreciate talent and human when they should be! Belonging to a different generation I can still sense pain and love, not sure whether she got the credit she deserved!
Rajendra Soni Omg Edith Piaf was loved by almost all of France. She started out as impoverished street singer, but once she was discovered by Louis Leplée, she rose to fame. Her debut album would be acclaimed by a famous French actor, Maurice Chevalier, who was in the audience of her first singing appearance in a night club. She would expander her career into theatrics that same year (1935) and she began singing in music halls in Paris regularly. She would even go onto work in a film called Étoile sans lumière. Most of the songs she sang were about loss, love, and heart ache. It reflected her personal life, being abandoned by her mother, her poor childhood in a brothel, and her scandalous and tragic love life. She always sang with great passion and was able to move any audience to tears. After her death, their was a large funeral attended by thousands of people. Several movies, plays, and biographies would go on to be written about her. Oh how I envy to sit in a cabaret listening to Piaf like my great grandmother did. If angels are real, Édith Piaf was truly a blessed angel sent down from Heaven.
Truly I don't think she ever did. I Came Upon her because I love this song so much and I love it when Grace Jones sings it! There's hardly any comments on her meaning Edith Piaf... so frail she was extremely weak and so very heartbroken!
Rajendra Soni I’m 16 years old and I love Edith songs more than anything.I m fascinated by her talent and I even have read 2 books about her.It doesn’t matter the generation we belong to, it s about education and preferences. Most of people hate french, and probably that s one of the reasons why people doesn t listen the songs of Edith Piaf.
@@mariesnape5669 so young...and how passionate you feel for her! I bet you like to write poetry? The song is a beautiful song to see the world as you wish to in the most beautiful way shows your innocence and shows how much empathy you have for another! The moment I saw her I knew her what a tragic life she lived....
Rajendra Soni there’s nothing painful or sad in the song she’s singing about her love promising her that they will be together for ever

After listening to all the covers, all the RUclipsrs, every singer singing it live, finally I comeback to this. It's better than all of them combine. No replacement for original.

Lyrics :

Quelle voiiiiiiix!

Franco kabyle Monsieur.
a few months before my great grandfather passed away in 2016, he told me how much he loved listening to her. in fact, he said she was his favorite singer. glad to still be listening to it 6 years later :)
Edith Piaf sang through pain. She had *rheumatoid arthritis* and at that time there was no real treatment so even with an opioid addiction she was still self-medicating with alcohol.
She succumbed to liver disease so it's safe to say she was always singing whilst in pain. That voice! Such a volume of emotion and ascending tonality!
*Bravo Edith, bravo!*
Hearing her sing takes my mind to a place where all the troubles of the world fade into oblivion.
no comment ...in 2020 thx Edith Piaf ! MERCI !
