Another Wisconsin dude, I am as well. With a 2018 FoST.
I'm the person who modifies quality mods for performance over aesthetics, most of mine are not visible on my 2016 ST. But i think the ST is a good looking hatch and even if its just for aesthetics like this one, its a nice car regardless. Even nearly stock is a fun little car on the streets, and has the potential with FBO quality mods to knock out MUCH more expensive and higher powered cars on a tight track or the twisties..i know from experience and it humbles some of these supercar guys that show up with a $200k car and get waxed by a $25k Ford econobox lol. Tbo the Subaru WRX STi hatch inspired my love for the sporty hatches..but they quit making them. Then i saw my 2016 Focus ST in a parking lot brand new when i was looking for a lightly used daily driver focus SE after renting one and liking it (other than the crappy start/stop transmission)..didnt even know the Focus ST existed until i saw it ^_^

Very nice build, I love A unique Focus. Keep up the good work ! The catch can is a must, I went with the duels and Aux fueling to combat the oil build up.
What is aux fueling? Just curious
@@pawdre5151 It’s just the addition of two extra fuel injectors at the throttle body. At the time, when I installed my big turbo; it was the only way to get above 400whp . But the fuel being sprayed pre valves also helps to clean the valves

Youd have to take a set of halos apart and do them yourself unless you know someone.
Did u just roll the fenders or did u pull them too. Cause I have 18x9.5 and it look like I’m gonna have to some fender work to have it tucked a little bit

@@mattmccomb3646 while you're checking them out, keep in mind there are 3 trim levels. St-1, st-2, and st-3. St1 is the base level st with the base spider webb design aluminum wheels, halogen headlights, and cloth seats. St2 comes with the recaros that have cloth inserts and some come with the nice black ford wheels, and the have the my sync 3 radio. Only difference between the 2 and 3 is the sunroof. Otherwise you can also find an st2 with hid headlights. The other difference is the st3 had full leather recaros in more recent years. Good luck enjoy your search, i hope this helps.

Best guess 30k new for car, 15k used. Id say 10k in mods. The air ride being the most expensive mod bc it can run up to 4k by itself.
Just need to paint that intercooler black and get a yellow TBPerformance front crash bar. Beautifully done my guy

May i know what kind of fuel u put on this car?
If its tuned, 91 or 93 octane. But can be tuned for ethanol blend.
I currently own a 2017 Mazda6 and I've been considering selling it and getting myself a Focus ST. Should I do it? I want something more powerful and engaging to drive :D
I love mine. Keep in mind that it's an affordable performance car so it's pretty sparse, especially if you get the ST-1 package. But it's a hell of a fun car to drive.
If youre looking for a more modable and fun car, you should absolutely get one. If you're looking for luxury and every modern option keep the mazda 6. Also there are different trims to the st depending on what youre looking for. St 1, 2, and 3.

so wait, where can I get those head lights? You can get that hood to meet up with the front edge better and close that gap...take off the latch system and rat tail file the holes elongating them for more adjustment. Then you can screw out the two front hood adjustment and cut off some of the mounts they screw into about 1/2 inch.. Now about those lights . Also took out my rear seat and spare ..converted a nice flush looks with sound proofing...weight savings 130#s... the spare is like an anchor.
If you start to get tennitus from the after market exhaust ..go back to stock .. my friend at Ford performance told me stock air flow was as good as it gets . After market is BS. I got more but don’t want to bore you
On the exhaust side, if you're planning on adding serious power, you need an aftermarket exhaust. I phusically saw one being dynotuned on youtube with stock exhaust and they couldnt tune it past a certain point bc of too much back pressure. Plus everyone goes aftermarket for a better sound.

@@Mustangchef not bad. I never criticize anyone for what they have or havent done. Bc its your car and you're the one that has to drive it. Myself, i hate the stock suspension with their "active" dampening technology that makes it a little too bouncy for my liking, so im redoing the suspension for a more planted feel, but not using coilovers bc i dont want too harsh of a ride. Im the oppisite as you on the exhaust, but im in the middle. I dont want it obnoxiously loud so i am leaving the cat on, but probably going for a roush catback. Got tired of the engine movement from the factory mounts that were way too soft, so went with a set of diamond motorsports mounts, but am gonna have to put rubber padding between the base and body to deaden vibration a bit. Its really not that bad to me. I have an oil catch can i need to install myself, put a mountune intercooler on as the stock one is garbage. I am gonna tune mine for a little more power, nothing to crazy, bc i do wanna keep it tolerable to drive everyday. I dont put the miles on mine you do yours bc i drive a semi for a living. But i dont want an all out race car to drive either, just something fun to drive and maybe take to the track once in awhile. As for the exterior, i think im staying mostly original, have a few dings to fix bc of driving thru a construction zone to go to work every night at one point. But i am putting a front splitter, side skirts and rear splitter and am torn between a decal or louver and the rear triangle window at the moment. Im not done with it, but if you want me to keep you updated with pics i can do that.
@@Mustangchef just touching on my last reply, my wife even notices the bouncy stock suspension. Im also doing the work myself. So itll take me a little longer as im only home once a month.

Question, with the open air intake and the hood, wouldn’t rain or debris get into the air intake?
with an open air intake you will definitely have to clean the filter more often than usual. i do mine about every oil change and have had no problems whatsoever. i daily my car and my filter never has been too dirty

Pretty good they share the eco boost 2.0 with the ford escape
My 2013 ST has 130k on it. Biggest thing I've had to fix is a clutch+master+slave cylinder. And I've been tuned and modded the entire time.

They're stupid reliable tuned and everything.
Just dont hammer on it when your oil temp is low. You'll blow the engine like that, and i've heard a lot about it. Apart from that, its bulletproof ford engineering. I've run mine down dirt roads and tracks all around and always drive it like its stolen and not a single thing went wrong besides a boost leak that cost all of $20 to fix lol

If you paint the snorkel black it won't be SCREAMING in the front of the grill, looking like an accident in design. That would restore a clean look to the front end. Otherwise, the car looks nice.
Well you can get your own ST and do that yourself.
Ok nice but why would you get all those mods when you could spend that cash on an RS and do the same thing:|
Because the stock 2.3 RS motor is junk when compared to the 2.0 ST motor, especially when you start adding mods. Also, you can get an ST for about $18K, the RS goes for about $29K.

@@DjCalliber or maybe learn how to be a better driver and learn to drive what you have. Or you can rely on a Playstation on wheels to do all the work for you. From the sound of it, you probably aren't that great at driving and so you need as much help as you can get.
Also, it still doesn't account for the shitty 2.3-liter motor that comes in the RS. They break with mods, and they are weak engines because it is an open deck block. So not only would you spend $10K more on the car, but you'd also spend another $10K on an engine swap to replace the 2.3-liter with a 2.0-liter from an ST that is bored out to a 2.3-liter because it is a stronger block.
