Is there a way to see how employees are compensated by the different cruise lines? If other lines are exploiting their workforce, I would love to know which ones to avoid!
Unfortunately not. It's pretty well known that all of the cruise lines (except Virgin) register outside of the US to circumvent US labor laws, and hire non-US workers at wages much lower than any US citizen would accept. I guess it's not terribly different than corporate America outsourcing call center work for cheap labor, but I don't like that either.
