    When I first saw those frames I thought they looked like overkill but then I saw the shape of the roof and it makes sense.

      I hear you! It took more time planning for the irregular top shape than any other step. It also drove the most $ in the project. 😞

    Nice add-on with 960W/H input your looking at easy street living. You'll be having fun with Excel if you logged your power output/input ..etc. That was really smart to get the hardtop recoated with ceramic before installation of the solar panels. And now that they're on the good news is you can ceramic coat the panels. That way they will stay cleaner longer repelling water and general pollution. Eventually a quick squeegee will be needed but that's it guys. Have a great week u2!

      Great idea on ceramic for the panels!! I’m never crossed my mind. Once we fix a hydraulic leak that just popped up on the davit, we’re out for some serious cruising

    Well done. I’m going to try the snake trick on my arch. Thanks for that tip!

    Finished a full solar and battery on my RV in the fall can't wait to try it out this season. Nice job. Plan on getting more down the road for a full AC run?

      Thank you! That would be wonderful to get more panels, we’re pretty tight on space. We’d probably need to extend a rack over the dingy platform…

    Hey, I have a Navigator 5800 and want to add a hardtop. Was yours added or came with the boat and if added who made it? Looking for all the options for this project. Thanks.

      Our hardtop came with the boat and was factory built. We love it and it is a game changer and we love it and it was on our list for a liveaboard. For us in the Pacific Northwest having the enclosed bridge with the eisenglass is perfect for us.

    Hello from Harmony nearby- Could you ballpark the cost - all-in for this solar project?? Great video:)

    • @ElliYacht1

      The panels, wiring and MPPT were $1,000. The custom frames… $3k. I would pass on those if I did it again.

      @@ElliYacht1 What would you do differently, if you were to tackle this project again?
      Would you make your own frames? Would you do the install yourself?

    John now that you've had them installed for a bit, how's the performance of the panels?

    • @ElliYacht1
      @ElliYacht1  2 года назад

      Since the incline of the sun is still at around 20 degrees, we have seen 625W peak, but the max for a day has only been 2.2kW

      @@ElliYacht1 I'm thinking in FL we'd probably see better numbers. I'd not seen those panels before but I am now very interested.
