Man, she is just enchanting. Still beautiful, with a beautiful garden and beautiful spirit. Brought a tear to my eye. I wish every person with the same challenges as her son was given such care.

As an older mother and care provider of a special needs son in his 40s (who lives in my home), and as a woman who loves to grow and care for roses, this really resonated. I loved this. I, too, wish all people with special needs could be cared for and loved the way we care for and love our sons.
Her husband left her because she decided to keep her sick son. Now her son keeps her alive. She was a strong, healthy dancer. i wish them both health.
Bless you! I have no children but believe that every child is a gift. This proves it. Children with special needs have so much to teach us about life if we only look and listen.
Isn’t it ironic when some people may look at moms like you and Julie and feel pity when really it couldn’t be farther from the truth. You’ve been extra blessed with a precious soul of pure joy that many of us cannot experience. I’m sure it’s not easy either. Raising any child isn’t easy.
I once knew an elderly women who was in here 90s. Many years before, she had a grandson born with severe and multiple disabilities that her son and daughter in law could not care for. In those days, an institution was the solution. He was sent there for one night. In the middle of the night, her husband woke her up and said “let’s go get him”. They did and took care of him.
When their grandson was about 10 years old, the woman’s husband died of cancer. Her grandson lived to be 18 before he passed away in his sleep in his crib.
Fast forward to when I knew her in her 90s. She told me that when her husband of over 50 years passed away, it was her grandson that kept her going.
She lived to be 101 and she deserved every single year she was on this earth❤

Miss Newmar is wonderful to think of her son's strengths and not weaknesses. She also did a personal favor for me. My father had always been a huge fan. So I wrote to her asking if she could send him an autographed picture wishing him happy birthday. Of course she did and I was very grateful. A remarkable woman -

When I was growing up I thought she was one of the most beautiful women in the world. She was my favourite Catwoman . A few years ago my now adult daughter met her at a ComicCon in Toronto and said that Ms Newmar was gracious and allowed her photo to be taken without charge unlike the other celebrities. She was in her late 70s at the time and looked great.

I so agree with her. I am doing my best to create a magic fairy garden in my back yard. I'm constantly adding plants and I've sprinkled magical bits of garden art through out. I go out there every morning to remind myself that there is beauty in this world.
