We met Julie and her son at Cedars Sinai hospital’s first NICO reunion in 1982. She was off sitting alone and we sat and visited with her for quite awhile. We both took our babies to “ride” the ponies. She was so kind, and we still have the photograph❤️❤️❤️
when I was a child taking ballet lessons in hollywood, Ms. Newmar would come in when our class ended, and the adult class began. I remember her being taller than the other dancers. Such beauty and grace then and now!
I spent a day with Julie Newmar during a Special Olympics weekend back in the early 90s. John was a youth...she lived and loved for him. She is the most wonderful person....so delightful. I would love to spend a day with her again.
I’m so glad CBS is doing this series showing us famous people’s gardens. It humanizes them and gives us a glimpse into their lives outside of Hollywood, instead of the constant gossip and tabloids about their personal private lives.

We need to learn as much from this woman as we can. It’s a sad fact in the gardening community that talented individuals with the knowledge that takes decades to develop are aging and inevitably leaving us. Modern gardens/landscapes are filled with weed fabrics meant to prevent the way of nature not just in weeds but decay of organic matter and soil building too. The vast majority of landscapes cover the earth in synthetic fabric to prevent her natural cycles. A true gardener knows they’re merely imitating the greatest artist we will ever encounter, Mother Earth 🌍
As an avid senior gardener, I can speak to the feeling of creating something beautiful to surround you, and the peace and tranquility it engenders in others.

Reminds me of my grandmother, a little narrow paths through her wonderful garden from the front yard to the backyard, and not a blade of grass. My favorite spot was the place under the cherry tree where we would sit although I got in trouble with my sister for eating green grapes. We were always getting in trouble for eating unripe things we didn’t care we loved sour.
