Pretty well balanced account of a complicated character. Not giving any sort of pass but certainly among the most consequential of world changing souls.
To say I like this is to vastly understate it. I became licensed to drive in Fort Worth Tarrant TX In 1960 at age 15. What a thrill to solo & be street legal. Of course it was all my father's doing & with his encouragement. He had been a test track driver back in Michigan. Today is 2024/09/04 AD
Great! Totally enjoyable and educational. I presently watch a guy on You Tube, who restores extremely old Fords,... from the "teens" , 20s and 30s. He pulls them from junk heaps and from mud holes out in the woods, with saplings growing through them. The steel on them is still intact, and their engines take very little to get running again. The fellow gets all different brands of old automobiles, up and running in a couple hours.
Jim Sim. 72 yrs old . Being one of the few tradesmen who has made many types of wood wheels .this is fascinating. The tool kit is much bigger and mass production is no 1 my day it was all by hand except band saw lathe and mortise machine all final assembly was by hand with a ton of different clamps every so often testing for true when rotating side to side plus up and down . Tolerance about 1 mm ...
Next time you go buy BBQ briquettes look for the Kingsford brand which is still sold everywhere. That sub company was created by ford in the early Ford years. I was told it was a way for ford to make money off of even the tiny scrap pieces of wood by turning them into charcoal. I'm not sure about that part but it sounds good lol.
I don't think its accurate to call Henry Ford an anti-Semite for a few reasons: 1) He had a very good friendship with Albert Kaan. 2) Like many others of the time he didn't trust those who were in control of the financial system back then and his feeling were based upon their actions not their nationality.
Thank you for including a bit of unfortunate truth toward the end of the video. But there’s more. During the ‘30’s , Ford and Hitler were mutual admirers. Ford even traveled to Berlin to accept an award from Hitler. Ford eventually became exactly the kind of person that he despised as a young man. Henry outlived his son Edsel (cancer) and was consistently disappointed, right up to his death, that his son didn’t turn out like him.
@ride and there's even more than that , eYe seen a photograph on the history channel, modern marvels of Henry Ford giving Adolph Hitler a check for 10,000$
Disappointing that the History Channel didn't mention the Dodge Brothers' contribution to Ford's success. Ford admitted that he could never have accomplished what he did without the Dodge Brothers.
Henry Ford was a complicated man who is hard to put him into single discretion. He did many things that was great but he also had some failure with other issues.
I feel like back in these days, it wasn’t common to not follow in your family’s footsteps. I applaud Ford’s family for letting him indulge in his passion.
I love the Henry ford story. Many similarities to Elon Musk. Hoping Musk finds his way out of his demons and focuses on technology instead of social engineering.

Ed Herman was an excellent host.

Dodge Brothers owned Ford and designed and built Model T Engine and transmission, Look it up.
Ford was very correct about the small hat tribe and God bless him for expressing his truthfulness.
Go find real work!
🤥
Antisemitism continues as just one form of racism, nationalism, us vs. them.
This is a History Channel program that should have more episodes than a program about UFOs or aliens 😂
The History Channel now has way too much programming that has nothing to do with history.
Very informative. Great video!

so awesome,well done 👍🏽
Excellent video. I cant understand why Im the first to comment though. What, everyone hates Henry Ford now?
Great 👍 Man and Smart 😊
"who he thought were mostly jewish"
he thought or knew this? This was a fact you cant argue with. facts are thought of, they merely exist.
He decided that the time had come to be stronger than any of the excuses he'd used until then.
Mr. Ford was an influential figure in the crafting of National Socialist Ideology.
He was definitely right about the banking cartels
When did the Dodge brothers come into the picture?
Great video! I wish that these period pieces would stop playing the old-time music. It is a little cheesy and cliche!

*THE ELON MUST IN THE 1900S*
I don't know who Elon Must is but he must not be very famous for anything.
Who??! 😂
Cornelius Vanderbilt predates Henry Ford but he was so much richer that the government would borrow money from him.
Look at that pc monitor, good golly Molly, what year was this documentary? 😅😅
Lose the music
Well written : But ,visuals Flawed in places ,an American Luxury car was the , Renault ?
So Henry Ford invented the human machine, a lot to answer for !
This is very old.
The History Channel … before it sucked!
