Pretty well balanced account of a complicated character. Not giving any sort of pass but certainly among the most consequential of world changing souls.

I had to read that at least four times. That second sentence is some fine Wordsmithing.

To say I like this is to vastly understate it. I
became licensed to drive in Fort Worth Tarrant TX In 1960 at age 15. What a thrill to solo & be street legal. Of course it was all my father's doing & with his encouragement. He had been a test track driver back in Michigan.

Great! Totally enjoyable and educational. I presently watch a guy on You Tube, who restores extremely old Fords,... from the "teens" , 20s and 30s. He pulls them from junk heaps and from mud holes out in the woods, with saplings growing through them. The steel on them is still intact, and their engines take very little to get running again. The fellow gets all different brands of old automobiles, up and running in a couple hours.

Jim Sim. 72 yrs old . Being one of the few tradesmen who has made many types of wood wheels .this is fascinating. The tool kit is much bigger and mass production is no 1 my day it was all by hand except band saw lathe and mortise machine all final assembly was by hand with a ton of different clamps every so often testing for true when rotating side to side plus up and down .
    Tolerance about 1 mm ...

Next time you go buy BBQ briquettes look for the Kingsford brand which is still sold everywhere. That sub company was created by ford in the early Ford years. I was told it was a way for ford to make money off of even the tiny scrap pieces of wood by turning them into charcoal. I'm not sure about that part but it sounds good lol.

I don't think its accurate to call Henry Ford an anti-Semite for a few reasons: 1) He had a very good friendship with Albert Kaan. 2) Like many others of the time he didn't trust those who were in control of the financial system back then and his feeling were based upon their actions not their nationality.

Thank you for including a bit of unfortunate truth toward the end of the video. But there’s more.
During the ‘30’s , Ford and Hitler were mutual admirers. Ford even traveled to Berlin to accept an award from Hitler. Ford eventually became exactly the kind of person that he despised as a young man. Henry outlived his son Edsel (cancer) and was consistently disappointed, right up to his death, that his son didn’t turn out like him.

Disappointing that the History Channel didn't mention the Dodge Brothers' contribution to Ford's success. Ford admitted that he could never have accomplished what he did without the Dodge Brothers.

Henry Ford was a complicated man who is hard to put him into single discretion. He did many things that was great but he also had some failure with other issues.
