      @TackKeyNack 6 лет назад +12

      sam urai, what I mean is that you can observe more bouncing and partial reps in the bodybuilding community rather than in the powerlifting community. Actually, I've observed that most powerlifters wouldn't always train with their competition ROM like in this video.

    • @TackKeyNack

      Slow reps =/= strict form
      Powerlifters also utilize slow reps as an accessory.

    Absolute LOL at all the ppl who have never competed in powerlifting talking shit about arch and ROM. I guarantee all of you could arch as much as you want (probably won't be much) and still not even be able to unrack 418lbs (that's what he benched), let alone 2.5+ times your personal bodyweight. It's also safer for your shoulders to arch, coupled with the fact that arching biomechanically puts your chest at an advantage for both bodybuilding and strength. FACTS
    Also, I'm a 74kg competitor and all his numbers are ridiculous, as is his WILKS

    • @JohnmillerPowerlifting
      @JohnmillerPowerlifting  6 лет назад +14

      you use words like fact and biomechanically there do not compute with bro lifting. flat back is safer and makes you more of a man. in fact while you are at it your elbows need to point to the sides and be as far away from your body to get the 90 degree angle. thats what give you a big chest. hahahaha

    • @FilledWithLed
      @FilledWithLed 6 лет назад +1

      hahahaha it's as if the phrase "chest up" is nonexistent in bro lifting

    • @Cpt.CoffinNails
      @Cpt.CoffinNails 6 лет назад +13

      Im 215, bench 475 and I have never once competed, and I can tell you that this arch is BULL SHIT. Facts? True, you do need an arch, but this arch is meant to shorten his ROM, widening his grip also shortens his ROM. You cant cheat a squat, you cant cheat a dead lift, but you can break yourself in half to reach the bar on bench press, and as long as your ass stays down, its good. Nah. Fuck that. Mark Bell, Eric Spoto, Scott Mendelson, Kyril Sarychaev, Jeremy Hoornstra, Julius Maddox, all the dudes I just listed are 500+ lb benchers, not a SINGLE ONE OF THEM has an arch like this. Its ridiculous and if this guy lessesned his arch, and brought his grip in, he wouldn't be moving 375 let alone 418. Its bull shit dude. You can throw around WILKS and numbers all you want. It isn't impressive, it looks cheap as shit.

    • @TogetherLemon
