As a double crowned Xiao I reccomend using ur elemental skill then using the ult since when in ult mode his skill gives no energy but when you use 2 skills before using ult after you use ult some energy is given

Honestly as someone who uses skyward spine for Xiao, I don’t ever have a problem getting his burst up. As long as you have some energy recharge it’s not that big of a deal- just by using his burst and his e skill I can get it back up in no time. I love using so much I ended up triple crowning
I use him with black cliff and still don't have any energy problems. I just use him with Zhongli, Albedo and Jean and he gets his burst back pretty quickly

originally had guaranteed at 0 pity with 8k primos but then albedo reran (worst nightmare came true since i love both and they’re coming basically back to back) so rn i only got 1k primos saved, fortunately for me i haven’t explored a lot of the islands in inazuma and haven’t done several quests and hangouts so by the time xiao comes back i’ll probably have more than 10k (hopefully)

Xiao is the best character imo :) All you need is Xiao + Bennet + use E before burst and every content is gg, no reactions, random dmg multipliers and resonance cuz he's strong enough (In case anyone was wondering: in his 15 sec burst you can jump max 15 times and only 3 sec CD). Sometimes Skyward Spine > other 5 star weapons. Very fun character.

As a xiao main, I use zhongli, kazuha, and Bennett (or replace kazuha with geo traveler). I've found his energy recharge to be fine but I recommend doing the following rotation : zhongli e, kazuha e, Bennett e and ult, kazuha q, and then xiao e and ult. Works pretty well for entry recharge. I've also found zhongli, geo mc, and Jean are a good comp as well.
I'm really happy to see Xiao showcases~ He's my 1st 5 star, so I give him all the love! As a Xiao main who triple crowned him and wished for Homa just for him (the Primordial Jade Winged-Spear wouldn't come to me, okay?) I tried him with Zhongli-Bennett-Thrilling Tales Yanfei. And he got 75k vs the Cryo Regisvine. There was also this bounty where plunging attacks give a def down on the target. I had Zhongli, Bennett and Elegy Venti help him get to 91k on the first plunge (the others were 80+k ones). Hihihi
I’ve seen some pretty good xiaos, I’m a diluc and hu Tao main, with another dps (ayaka) raised for abyss. I’m saving for ganyu and zhongli and it’s kinda just like a ‘whichever one I get I get’ kinda thing
I’m really glad you’re doing this! I was (and still am) kinda salty that back then, you called Xiao a theif and a scam. Then turned around and praised/didn’t criticize Yanfei and Hu Tao despite them needing the same ascension materials.
Also geo traveler for albedo can work I believe that the burst from geo traveler keeps enemies from leaving that area which xiaos plunge burst is the entire area But albedo does much more damage with low field time. Jean (especially with c4) is by far the best for Xiao anemo support, I did enjoy him with Sucrose or Venti. (don't have kazuha and only recently got Jean) at least all this is my experience from using him though recently I haven't been using him often.
I think really any geo character can work, I just recommended this team because these were the first 4 characters to come to my mind when I thought of it.
hii xiao main here with some tips -use his Es before his burst, it helps with energy -if you need to dodge a big attack (like that one attack the primo geovishap has that gets countered w a shield) you can jump up and glide. -while sucrose is a better support (groups enemies, gets more particles on xiao), kazuha and jean are okay options. - venti isnt too good of a support bc his burst lifts enemies up, but if you rlly want to it can work -xiao can easily hit the oceanid sweeping birds without using his burst. just jump and E - xiao's specialty is a lot of enemies, and if there are a lot of enemies he can possibly(?) outdamage a hu tao of the same investment. -if you wanna have xiao on homa, its recommended that you have him

I don't like playing Xiao normally but a while ago I tried giving him Kazuha's EM artifacts and Drangons's bane. It was actually not bad and far more fun than Xiao is any other day. Good enough to 9 star floor 12 at least.

The team I was running was carried by the sub dps I use. However, if you really want to know how I used EM Xiao: You build him exactly the way you build Kazuha so as much EM as you can handle. Mine had 750 ish without buffs. Dragons bane, not the Inazuma weapon because that takes away your energy. Teammates: Sub dps: Anyone that applies elements fast off field and a long duration is REQUIRED since Xiao's burst is the second longest infusion in the game after Childe. This means, Beidou, Xingqiu, C4 Xianling etc the ususal. Defensive supports: Healing is important since it's Xiao. I honestly don't recommend Zhongli on this team because you need a lot of set up for this team. My go tos were Diona and Bennet but any healer works. I have C6 Diona and elegy so she was providing an extra 260 EM to my team too. Battery: In this situation, the battery options for Xiao aren't bad and he does need it still. You've got Electro traveller, Sucrose, and Raiden Shogun which are all pretty good picks. Sucrose gives more EM to Xiao and the electro dudes both apply off field elements. Sucrose however needs another full EM set which I'm not farming for and her duration is much shorter than Xaio's burst with the rotations. Use electro traveller (if you don't have Raiden) if you want pure Xiao gameplay and use Raiden shogun if you want to make up for his downtime with good damage. The team I found most comfortable was: Xiao, Xingqiu, Diona, Raiden/Traveller but you can switch in any of the suggested units. I also tried to avoid just making it a national variant but you probably could go that route. Strategy: Normal rotations with the exception of only using your sub dps abilities directly before popping Xiao's burst. Since Xiao has 15 seconds in burst, your sub DPS will run out sooner than him so you swap once they're done to recharge. During Xiao's burst, you use normal attacks instead of plunging a lot of the time. I went for a full auto attack combo then cancel the final attack with a plunge. Just apply as much anemo as you can. The plunge still has uses though. It's stagger is real high so you can disable enemies real easy with it. It's a solid opener to remove threats before dealing damage. It's also a good way to dodge without losing out on too much dps. Plunging isn't the focus but it has uses. Like I said, if you're struggling to get your first 9 star or fist clear in general: EM Xiao ain't the way to go. It's just a bit of fun. Swirls maybe account for 20-30% of damage for the whole team. The rest is supports.

Asa f2p triple crowned Xiao main, I just discovered the Xiao+Raiden combo. It honestly rocks. And just add Bennet for atk and Rosaria for more crit rate and now you have a beast of a team:)

as a xiao main, he is my only triple crowned character and I regret nothing. The longer he's in burst, the more dmg he does over time. you could use that to try and break higher numbers good luck to all pulling for him! I'll be trying for c1
Since you're returning to older characters, I think you should try building a melt ganyu! Two artifact sets work: 4 wanderers troupe 4 shimenawa (5% better than wanderers) I noticed you have some wanderers pieces laying around, so it shouldn't be too painful. Em sands is insanely good for melting with her, but an atk sands is also viable if you're doing solos or don't have one, both her bloom and original arrow can melt btw. You'd probably want to use xiangling and bennett with her for melting, but since she can also be easily interrupted, zhongli is a good 3rd slot. Just a disclaimer, cryo resonance does not work as melting will remove any elemental statuses. Also, don't use your burst as it'll cause icd. If you do this, I wish you good luck!
I can also recommend geo xiao (xiao, albedo, zhongli and Jean for heals and battery or Benny for heals and boost) a lot, it’s one of my favorite teams to use!
YESSSS XIAO GOD MODE!!! XD I started playing right after his banner ended and now i'm excited to get him!!!! already pre farmed some of his mats cause i'm guaranteed! 🤣
I actually use that same first Xiao team for abyss, Xiao, Bennett, Kazuha and Zhongli, and since my Kazuha has Freedom Sworn I often have two buffs before my Xiao burst, and lemme tell you, it's so fun and I never had any problems with this team, unless it's just one big boss, then I'll thrown this team on the other half, but with Kazuha CC and Xiao's massive AoE DMG everything dies before I can even see them, I also don't have any energy problems, but that's probably cause of my rotation, Zhongli shield, Benny burst and E, Kazuha burst and tap E with plunge attack, followed my Xiao's double E into burst, and then with the orbs that enemies drop I often have Xiao burst back really quick. Also, a recommendation for you, try this team with the 3 Maguu Kenki, as soon as the battle start run straight to the middle Kenki, the standard one, do the full rotation and go crazy with Xiao, try to always keep hugging the standard one and keep your distance from the anemo one, since the standard one doesn't move, the anemo one tends to run away if you get too close, and the cryo one will always follow you, by keeping this position you will dmg all three at the same time, on my abyss run they always die together with this team, and really quickly as well, it's the only floor from chamber 12 that I have absolutely no problem with to 3 star it.
Regarding best combo's for Xiao, doing the (N1 + C + Small plunge) combo is the most efficient way to do damage vs single targets. If facing groups (N1 + Small plunge) is the best option. You lose a lot of damage doing constant high plunges.
I know this is a Sucrose comment, but for anyone looking to run battery Sucrose I used fav codex then quick switch after doing 2 of her E's like how Moga did here. Benny's tap on E also generates some decent particles in a pinch. They both work great for me so I thought I'd share. Best of banner luck to everyone who reads this! I hope you all win your 50/50s
As a triple crown Xiao main, I’m so happy to see him getting more love! He’s so good, and Ik imma get hate for it but I don’t have any good anemo dmg goblets so I gave him a really good physical dmg and his ult attacks are still doing massive dmg and his basics are hitting huge too
One thing you need to do is use xiaos E’s right before you use his ult, and after you use his ult the particles will go to him pre charging his next cycle
I tripled Xiao a long time ago. I don't play him as often anymore, but when I need to kill something nice and good hes the party I turn to. Zhongli traveler geo Jean and Xiao. Makes a lethal party.
the dmg on kazuha doesn't matter as much as the particles that sucrose can give you. You should also consider the versatility that she gives as she can run sacrificial fragments for more particles on xiao or thrilling for more dmg on xiao. Also you can't really catch the particles that kazuha makes on xiao. Hope this helps.
i envy your resin stocks... i burned 9 fragile resin on hutao's artifacts alone and she's running a broken 2p crimson with 1p wanderers and 1p noblesse and 1p tenacity but it does pretty good damage so im not complaining
i think jean or venti would be a better battery, because sucrose isn't fully being utilized, she is made for reactions teams, but i guess it works so yeah

he is still building albedo considering the domain for his artifacts is still new, he doesn’t have that good artifacts to do god mode albedo.

Xiao is a reliable carry. You put him on one side of the abyss and know you can get sloppy on the other side because he saves you ton of time

1 thing to remember is xiao plunge attacks have a pretty big aoe so the 50ks he would be hitting a lot of enemies with those

He did because you can get the pyro stuff from the primo. But you can't get the anemo

Defensive supports: Healing is important since it's Xiao. I honestly don't recommend Zhongli on this team because you need a lot of set up for this team. My go tos were Diona and Bennet but any healer works. I have C6 Diona and elegy so she was providing an extra 260 EM to my team too.
Battery: In this situation, the battery options for Xiao aren't bad and he does need it still. You've got Electro traveller, Sucrose, and Raiden Shogun which are all pretty good picks. Sucrose gives more EM to Xiao and the electro dudes both apply off field elements. Sucrose however needs another full EM set which I'm not farming for and her duration is much shorter than Xaio's burst with the rotations. Use electro traveller (if you don't have Raiden) if you want pure Xiao gameplay and use Raiden shogun if you want to make up for his downtime with good damage.
The team I found most comfortable was: Xiao, Xingqiu, Diona, Raiden/Traveller but you can switch in any of the suggested units. I also tried to avoid just making it a national variant but you probably could go that route.
Strategy: Normal rotations with the exception of only using your sub dps abilities directly before popping Xiao's burst. Since Xiao has 15 seconds in burst, your sub DPS will run out sooner than him so you swap once they're done to recharge. During Xiao's burst, you use normal attacks instead of plunging a lot of the time. I went for a full auto attack combo then cancel the final attack with a plunge. Just apply as much anemo as you can. The plunge still has uses though. It's stagger is real high so you can disable enemies real easy with it. It's a solid opener to remove threats before dealing damage. It's also a good way to dodge without losing out on too much dps. Plunging isn't the focus but it has uses.
Like I said, if you're struggling to get your first 9 star or fist clear in general: EM Xiao ain't the way to go. It's just a bit of fun. Swirls maybe account for 20-30% of damage for the whole team. The rest is supports.

Tip for Xiao: dont use his E's during burst form, as they dont give him any anemo particles
Asa f2p triple crowned Xiao main, I just discovered the Xiao+Raiden combo. It honestly rocks. And just add Bennet for atk and Rosaria for more crit rate and now you have a beast of a team:)

as a xiao main, he is my only triple crowned character and I regret nothing. The longer he's in burst, the more dmg he does over time. you could use that to try and break higher numbers

Since you're returning to older characters, I think you should try building a melt ganyu!
Two artifact sets work:
4 wanderers troupe
4 shimenawa (5% better than wanderers)
I noticed you have some wanderers pieces laying around, so it shouldn't be too painful. Em sands is insanely good for melting with her, but an atk sands is also viable if you're doing solos or don't have one, both her bloom and original arrow can melt btw.
You'd probably want to use xiangling and bennett with her for melting, but since she can also be easily interrupted, zhongli is a good 3rd slot.
Just a disclaimer, cryo resonance does not work as melting will remove any elemental statuses. Also, don't use your burst as it'll cause icd.

I can also recommend geo xiao (xiao, albedo, zhongli and Jean for heals and battery or Benny for heals and boost) a lot, it’s one of my favorite teams to use!

I actually use that same first Xiao team for abyss, Xiao, Bennett, Kazuha and Zhongli, and since my Kazuha has Freedom Sworn I often have two buffs before my Xiao burst, and lemme tell you, it's so fun and I never had any problems with this team, unless it's just one big boss, then I'll thrown this team on the other half, but with Kazuha CC and Xiao's massive AoE DMG everything dies before I can even see them, I also don't have any energy problems, but that's probably cause of my rotation, Zhongli shield, Benny burst and E, Kazuha burst and tap E with plunge attack, followed my Xiao's double E into burst, and then with the orbs that enemies drop I often have Xiao burst back really quick.
Also, a recommendation for you, try this team with the 3 Maguu Kenki, as soon as the battle start run straight to the middle Kenki, the standard one, do the full rotation and go crazy with Xiao, try to always keep hugging the standard one and keep your distance from the anemo one, since the standard one doesn't move, the anemo one tends to run away if you get too close, and the cryo one will always follow you, by keeping this position you will dmg all three at the same time, on my abyss run they always die together with this team, and really quickly as well, it's the only floor from chamber 12 that I have absolutely no problem with to 3 star it.

Regarding best combo's for Xiao, doing the (N1 + C + Small plunge) combo is the most efficient way to do damage vs single targets. If facing groups (N1 + Small plunge) is the best option. You lose a lot of damage doing constant high plunges.
you should try using sacrifical fragments on sucrose! its passive is really suitable for battery purposes since it lets you do one more E.

I know this is a Sucrose comment, but for anyone looking to run battery Sucrose I used fav codex then quick switch after doing 2 of her E's like how Moga did here. Benny's tap on E also generates some decent particles in a pinch. They both work great for me so I thought I'd share. Best of banner luck to everyone who reads this! I hope you all win your 50/50s

As a triple crown Xiao main, I’m so happy to see him getting more love! He’s so good, and Ik imma get hate for it but I don’t have any good anemo dmg goblets so I gave him a really good physical dmg and his ult attacks are still doing massive dmg and his basics are hitting huge too

I tripled Xiao a long time ago. I don't play him as often anymore, but when I need to kill something nice and good hes the party I turn to. Zhongli traveler geo Jean and Xiao. Makes a lethal party.
the dmg on kazuha doesn't matter as much as the particles that sucrose can give you. You should also consider the versatility that she gives as she can run sacrificial fragments for more particles on xiao or thrilling for more dmg on xiao. Also you can't really catch the particles that kazuha makes on xiao. Hope this helps.
