Guitar picks = P R Y I N G T O O L S
I mean he ain't wrong 🤷♂️🤣
I've never heard a guitar pick called a Plastic Prying tool ... Full props that it worked!!
appreciate this video. helped me change my back glass on my note 9. easier than I expected.
Lots of questions about the waterproofing status after replacing cover. While I'm no expert, I would only point out that the back cover was originally installed by a machine. Imho, I believe the phone would remain splash proof at best, not sure that I would trust that it's even remotely water resistant after performing this fix.
damn dude why can't they just make that shit pop off like they used to
Because they know most people will simply throw away a phone and buy a new one. Gotta have the latest and greatest. Its built-in obsolescence.
@@TreeFreak it's for waterproofing...
@@Its_Danny- thats what I buy an Otterbox for. I don't swim with my phone. Nor do I feel the need to FascistBuch in the rain or in the shower.
@@TreeFreak still nice to have if you drop your phone in water, besides you won't need to do repairs that often so it's still okay.
@@Its_Danny- its called built-in obsolescence. The same concept as what Apple does with their batteries and software. After a certain time, their software is programed to drain the battery rapidly, and you can't simply switch out batteries. So, you are left tethered to a wall or buying a new phone.
So you do not have to remove any of the old adheasive from the phone or reheat it when installing the new glass cover?
Nice tutor bro...👍
Wow excellent video. Does water proofing, camera optical stabilization and wireless charging work perfectly? Thanks
Excellent man, just what I needed!
When returning the back cover, do you need an adhesive? What is her name?
The camera glass is attached with the sensor? I'm asking because I ordered a back cover that has only the glass camera without the sensor
Just replaced mine, might trade it in now, appreciate it
The problem with the video is that reusing the adhesive for the camera will almost guarantee an entry point for moisture unless you do this perfectly.
So if you needed to replace only the back camera lenses glass would reusing the same back glass cover cause a point of entry for moisture to enter the phone. If so how would you reuse the back glass cover when replacing only the camera glass
@@keithdrake417 I do this for a part-time job and when you remove the back glass cover and the cover for the the camera and the heartbeat monitor that glue that he removes you have to replace you have to remove all the glue and replace it with double face tape that comes in rolls or you use a b700 glue that is a it comes in adhesive tube it's really good glue and quite a few phone repairs techs use it.
@@bassinbillRC5300
how much is the cost if replacement with glue if i provide the new back
thank you, greate video. my phone fell, and somehow in the process my stylus broke... the shiny part is out, but the rest of the stylus is in there... I plan to get a new stylus, but I neet to get the part that is stuck out. Is there a way to pull it out without opening the phone?
Very informative thank you.
Does hair dryer works?
Thanks for your help!
Where can you get strong adhesive just in case? I do a lot of repairs and find myself needing adhesive from time to time
eBay
Thank you helpful.
Do you have a link to purchase the glass?
You can buy the glass the adhesive for the glass and the pry tools on amazon.com for about 20 bucks not including shipping or tax. If you have to replace the LCD digitizer you're looking at about $229 plus shipping and tax.
One question though is the new back glass part is going have that glue for it to stay on because you just pulled yours out and it did have that glue but if you have a new one does it have the glue or not do you have to buy it separately
It comes with the glue
Great mate,Thank you.
What should I do if the adhesive didn't stick very well on one side? Should I heat the adhesive?
What temp do you recommend a heat gun
110 degrees
Get yourself an infrared temperature probe that will confirm your temperature as you heat up with the heat gun.
@@2ndtonone1000 Ya, never go up to 150, otherwise the screen may really burn somehow... Unless you want to replace the screen itself then it won't matter xD
Can waterproof still remain after replacing back glass..??? Please tell me
No...but if you fix it from Samsung service yes
Waterproof if u keep adhesive stick around and water do not enter
What about the Integrity of it being waterproof does this compromise it
xnoxlimitx89 unless you use pretty strong adhesive to stick on the new one, it will most likely compromise it quite a bit
yes it will unless you get a new back glass with the factory adhesive
I got my battery replaced at a repair shop and the backside is coming off on one side. Is there a way to fix this?
heat it up and apply pressure
Same
Did it automatically sit flush against the frame on all sided immediately or did you have to do something else outside of the video?( I don't want to do this and fear that I failed if the back is left open a smidge)
Good stuff
Thanks bro
In this way then what will about condition of water resistance?
Tell me why I use a iopener then a heat gun and couldnt get a gap or a lift at all on the glass to wedge a pick. Note 9 the phone was hot I had to stop to avoid damage
It's because the OEM glue is much better than the replacement adhesive. This video is complete crap because obviously it's going to be easy if they've already taken it apart before.
nice video. but im looking to replace that little glass over the camera light and heart beat sensor. thank you.
Dayummm yours gets a heart beat aensor.... that's something warzone shit thurrr
is the phone water resistance again , after changing the back glass ?
Yes it should still be as long as you didn't leave any gaps when gluing the back screen again so make sure it's all good, you lose the guarantee tho
Hello .my note 9 was out in very cold weather with a cracked glass cover, something happened and the phone went into reboot mode, took it to a dealer and temporary glass was used to do a soft reboot, didn't work, so hard reboot required, problem is data was not backed up, is there any way to recover data from phone before hard reboot? Answer appreciated ..
My note 9 is 5 and a half years old now, putting new battery in using this video thanks
If I remove my back glass to replace my rear camera glass, can I reuse the back glass or do I need to get a new one with new adhesive?
I bought a metal back so I wouldn't have to worry about the glass panel anymore. Best choice I made! It had adhesive already on the new panel. I think it was $13 on amazon and came with a metal prying tool. I dropped my phone while caving and shattered the front and back on rocks. Lesson learned, but I hated the glass anyway.
@@janillesloan6144 how did you find it?
Is there any chance that I can lose the data on my phone if I change the back cover?
if im just switching the back from one to the other do i need to mess with the camera and finger sensor
Yes, only if your new glass panel doesnt come with a camera, and you will need to move the fingerprint scanner though.
can u do avideo on how to replace the rear camera!
Bruh he LITERALLY just showed u.... smh lmfao. Gawwwwd
Ive pre ordered mine and it ships on the 23rd of August
What about the IMEI id that is written in my old back cover?
not needed, you can pull that up in the phone settings
Can we replace the front glass as well?? the display and touch works flawless while the glass broke..
No we are not all set. IT'S NO LONGER WATER-RESISTANT LOL!!!
and using those guitar picks you took some of the adhesive off it's never going to be as strong as it was in the first place..
I would think that you were trying to get all the old adhesive off of the phone itself. And then use a special water-resistant gel to go around the entire edge and then put the phone back together..
They have adhesive tape for cell phones on Amazon so that you can replace it
@@jonyleche3549
Yes I'm well aware of it they also have a special job that supposedly is water resistant that you can use.
But I would never even come close to trusting it..
My whole point is he is not all set even if he gets sticky tape or whatever
There is no more water resistant or waterproofing IT'S GONE, THE IP68 WATER RESISTANT IS GONE..
You can only do that stuff at a certified Samsung place with Samsung tools or you have to send it to the factory..
Why does the back cover get dark mine has what’s happened ocean blue lost its colour
Where can you get the replacement glass???
You make that look way too easy. I'm going to end up without a phone when I try to do it. I swear. & I do not have $1200 to buy another phone right now. Cell phones are finally unaffordable and becoming a luxury for normal people.
Gotta reseal it properly or it no longer dust proof or water resistant
Probably because you have more feautures that require sealed back cover (like Water resistancy, finger print etc..) that we did not have in older generations phones, as you can also see is that there is more chance you would mess up something if you open it often
not able to waterproof anymore
When I open my phone it didn't have a flex cable for the finger print scanner. what the hell?
is it still waterproof? if it's been opened like that. And can the water go inside because it's been opened
after watching this video l will never buy note 9 , who the fk give this idea to the makers where we can not open our mobile easily.
same with iphone
thats pretty much all new phone manufacturers nowadays...welcome to the future..they make it so most people who dont wanna take the challenge to replace battery or pay someone to do it..i like the way the glass looks..but it comes with cons if you like to drop your phone.....they want you to upgrade every year or 2..batteries wont hold a solid charge forever...this is exactly why i still own my note 4....besides specs and its old now...still one of the best notes ever made....removeable battery ,128gb micro sd card. i can change out my battery whenever i want and they are only 9 bucks for an oem replacement.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The back glass shattered. I ordered a replacement. No instructions arrived with the part.I was told the glass back had the adhesive with it. I appears already attached to the glass back. However, when I attempt to remove the protective layer the adhesive layer comes with it. How is this new glass back replaced???
👍
What if you used your fingernail to get the cover of the back
Cause I did it and it worked
Are u kidding me....why can't it come off easy like it used to be years ago
Cuz it wasnt glass back then or waterproof
😮😮😮
WHI JUST HAS ALL OF THSI LAYING AROUND!!
ifixit pro tech toolkit i got it for pc building so i just have it in my desk drawer
A $50 purchase goes a long way.
Say what to use other than a guitar pick everybody doesn’t own a guitar pick
Comment below and I will pay no attention to your comments. Lol
ist normal for the note 9 Screen and the frame have tiny then gap in the side?
So you didn't really repair or replace anything here. Just opened up your 'working' note for this video and then put everything back together which will make your note 9 no longer water resistant. I hope you don't sell those phones to others after making the video.
He made the money worth of that phone off this video
Are you serious, this is a 9 minute video
Damn...it's risky.
totally wrong where is adhesive ?
@@3dvisions what about yours?
Was helpful to show how to replace the glass. Not helpful if you actually have to replace the camera glass.
Wtf
Poor video does not show how to fully waterproof again
Ruined...
You just ruined ur note
I removed the back of my phone without a heat gun years ago. Totally unnecessary advice.
Forrnite rage broke mine 😭
Wth u gotta do all this ????that’s crazy
Its not that much
Complete butchery. It is not ipx rated anymore.
