    Who else is preparing for exams now?... I am sorry - I won't be very active on RUclips during this month until I finished my exams - BUT I will be back again afterwards;P Here a little snippet of the beautiful concerto I am studying right now and preparing for the exams - I am totally in love with this movement! I wish everyone a great start into the new week! See you soon!:)

    The worlds most underrated concerto. When rehearsing Rach 2 as a young man, i asked my professor if there were less known concertos o similar outstanding quality … he mentioned this one immediately as well as Xaver Schwarchenka’s 4 concertos (specially no 3 and 4). And decades later … this concerto is still my favorite one.
    You do a brilliant job, not only in playing, but also in sharing.
    When on a break, you can listen to the almost 1 hour long concerto No. 1 by moskowsky, only very recently discovered and recorded.

    I am too a little bit obsessed with this concerto and this movement especially. Loved how clean 6:35 was. Hoping to learn some Moszkowski myself once I have done my next exam, specifically his Romance and Scherzo op 62 as I can't find a single recording of it anywhere.

    Keeping my fingers crossed for your exam! Thanks for making us fall in love with Moszkowski. Beautiful how you mirrored the video and partly played duo with yourself. Creating, feeding and growing a RUclips Channel is also a lot of work. People often don't realise how time-consuming all this video editing etc. actually is.

    • @mhh6890
      @mhh6890 3 года назад +4

      Great!!😊 I should recommend his first piano concerto, the opus 3, which is in b minor. Many people aren't aware that the e major is his second, because the first wasn't recorded at all or even really published or played, up until only a couple of years ago. Where I would describe the e major as very brilliant, elegant, warm and playful, yet mature, nostalgic and achingly beautiful, the b minor is a different animal. I would describe it as much messier, stormier and more intense, written by a much younger and more unpolished composer. But I think it is very inventive, rich and strangely dark. At moments it is so incredibly, splendidly beautiful to me! It has strange modulations, weird dynamic and rhytmic changes - it is really very modern for its time, which I think was 1875. Plus those moszkowskian, deliciously virtuose details which rely to you that the man could seriously write for piano!
      Since I knew the e major long before I heard the b minor, I felt that I could hear, in the b minor, rudiments of that special moszkowskian sound (I really think he has his own sound) which he later refined in the e major and which I there had found so beautiful. This made the experience very exhillerating! It is such a young mans piece! I think I find the relationship and differences between the two, somewhat comparable to the relationship and differences between the two Brahms concerti.
      I hope you will like it if you listen to it! I think it is so great that you are playing Moszkowkski for your exam..!!
