    Maybe one hour was not enough to learn how to fly... or my bumblebee is just too fat to fly :P However, it was a lot of fun as always - and super confusing on some parts :) is your brain also turning after listening/ playing this? Tell me in the comments!:P

    One thing I have found is that I practice is piece for a while (1 to 2 hours) and I feel like I made very little progress and that I can't seem to get things right no matter how hard I try. But then if I take a long break and come back (usually the next day), I see the improvement immediately. Seems like the brain needs time to incorporate the practice.

    • @coltonpiano7969
      @coltonpiano7969 2 года назад +3

      Same thing as lifting weights. If you lift weights for an hour your muscles get tired and you stop being able to lift as much. But then when you go back after resting your muscles have gotten stronger.
      Your brain works on a lot of the same principals

    • @SiMeGamer
      @SiMeGamer 2 года назад +2

      @@coltonpiano7969 I think comparing it to building muscle is very incorrect since in one instance it's just the way the body fixes itself (fixing torn tissue on the muscle fiber) and in the other instance your neural pathways settle - the opposite of growing. When you are training, your neurons fire far more intensely which can lead to a far less refined neural pattern. When you take a break (and especially good night's sleep), the intensity settles a little which makes it more consistent and require less energy to perform, which makes intensity much more accurate on average and allows for the refinement of the algorithm in your brain.
      In one you grow, and in the other you dial it down. There is a similarity in the form of taking a break in between which increases productivity (and in one case is essential) but the thing the happens during the break is completely different.

    • @coltonpiano7969
      @coltonpiano7969 2 года назад +6

      @@SiMeGamer ya totally, I was just trying to pull something more abstract like neural pathways settling into a realm more people are familiar with in order to back up what they were saying.
      You can also over fire one set of neurons. Think saying a word over and over until it doesn't sound like a word anymore. If you repeat one section of music over and over too many times something similar can happen

    • @scottwicken4999
      @scottwicken4999 Год назад +3

      I feel like the longer you do something the more the brain starts trying to take over the muscle. When you give some time to reset the muscle takes over.

    • @dmsalomon
      @dmsalomon Год назад

      @@scottwicken4999 exactly. Playing music is so complicated, considering all the intricate and delicate motions required. Not to mention balancing all the various musical variables (dynamics, tempo, tambour, etc...). It's impossible to actively maintain all these factors, the only solution is to have the subconscious muscle memory simply execute the correct motions.

    I’ve never tried to play this piece, and I’ve never had any formal music theory, so to me this right hand sounds like a random string of notes without any recognisable melody or patterns in it. That’s why here more than ever the fingerings are important to have some kind of flow and structure in the notes. It’s always fun to see how you tackle a new piece, the things you give extra attention to and the parts where you struggle too haha. I love these challenges, keep em up!
