I am so thankful you are filming this. Your photography and description are very helpful. I have purchased a 2002 4WD Explorer V8 Limited to go under my Grandfather’s 1950 F1, so very similar but not exactly the same as your project. I too plan to keep the Explorer floor pan and firewall and look forward to seeing how you handle narrowing the firewall and that maze of unwanted wiring. I do not plan to keep the dash but am reusing the bucket seats.

I'm so glad my videos are able to help someone else with their project. I started making these videos just to serve as a video diary for myself, but realized there aren't a lot of people on RUclips doing this specific type of conversion/modification. So if I can help someone else with their project because of what I'm doing, that's awesome! Good luck with your project!

Im doing almost the same thing. .Mine is a 52 f1 on a 97 Mercury Mountaineer.. I have videos on IG of the progress..maybe itll give you some ideas...and yes the 52 is narrower, found that out the hard way..Bigblockglen

I wish you had the videos here on RUclips. I don't have an IG account, nor do I plan on starting one anytime soon. When you say the F1 is narrower, are you talking axle width or wheelbase?

    I'm pretty sure that's not a 2004 explorer

You are correct, never said it was. It's a 2000 Ford Explorer.
