Good god man you have helped me find what I was in need of. It’s like when I hear a sick beat I know exactly what riff I want to go with it. And not to knock the beat buddy mini. it just doesn’t have that ability to go from a metal beat into a nice slamming halftime breakdown. And this does!! you just demonstrated that so I just ordered one and a huge thank you. :)
Genuine question, how do you use the microdrummer? I tried mine with it plugged into my amp but of course as soon as there is any distortion in your amp settings, it doesn't sound great.
We could only dream of pedals like that back in the day. That open hi-hat for the Metal beat pattern was awesome. Oftentimes they are too short in duration. They nailed it for that category. Also, great sound on your guitar, Taylor.
This pedal and looper shall help a kot of song writers, especially when they're away from their PC/main Studio. i'm gonna buy it when available in my region
I think so! I think it's not a bad deal if you wanted to bring something in your gig bag to practice, but don't want to lug around a laptop and audio interface just to jam to some drum loops.
The beatbuddy has kind of been doing this for years - has better life functionality too as can have A/B parts for each song and different loops for each.
The biggest thing about this pedal when it comes to metal is there is breakdowns!! No pedal I know of including the beat buddy, the original, or the mini has breakdowns beats. It’s probably the only one out there and literally what I have been searching for.
Thanks for doing the demo review, I'm gonna have to buy one of these pedals, do you have a review on the other 2 pedals that were connected to the drum pedal, thanks in advance.
I have a Beat Buddy already, but if anything ever goes wrong with it I think I might get one of these to replace it. It looks a lot easier to program to me.
IDK about the Baby Beat Buddy, i have the regular one. It is highly programmable using the app. It can even do backing tracks, if you like. But it's as lot more work, which most of us guitar players hate. We'd rather just stomp and play, like this box let's you. You do have to do some setup tho, to get your patterns organized and stored, so you're not fishing for them when the other musicians show up. That gets old quick.
Nice demo. I still have some questions though: does it respond to or transmit midi notes, PC or tempo via its USB port? How does the editor work? Can you load custom rhythms and drum sounds?
I imagine you can load your own drum beats in there, which is kind of cool for a one man band. I wish they would update their other pedals you are using there, specifically the preamp. Thing was off to a good start, then poof falls off the earth
In the editor, it does look like you could import midi, but I couldn't find a way to do it and couldn't find any info in the documentation. It would be cool if you could though!
Ultimately if you are doing the one man band thing you should just create your own back tracks. Bring your lap top or use a sequencer. It Is hard enough to use a looper live let alone a pedal drummer. That's just my point of view. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule but generally you want the path of least resistance.
It can be so hard to end a song with these things. I'm glad they're finally working on ending patterns but it's hard to do that really well. I wish they could just do it very simply. Just a crash or a crash roll, whatever that's called.
Awesome pedal, Taylor! This is a perfect tool for some bands and musicians. Of course not for everyone otherwise drummers without a job. I don't want that! Cheers
It’s cool and it doesn’t take the whole room lol The tone is pretty good for a tiny box so much better than a click but I haven’t had a lot of time to explore it yet, so far so good = )
I thought that sounded great! Seems like it would be extremely fun and much better than messing around with the computer all the time to make drum patterns. Does it have the option to replace individual sounds? Example: can just the kick be switched to something boomier?
@@TaylorDanleystill a great tool for songwriting/jamming. Thanks for the review. I hate using the computer when playing guitar, which is why i never actually record anything. But, i just wait to JAM! I have no intention of being in a metal band in my 40s.
Can you arrange a full song’s worth of drums on the app, then load them onto the pedal and not have to manually switch parts? Not sure if the pedal can do that or not.
I want drums to record, so can I write beats and fills of my own in the editor then program songs to be recorded against a click track, on a windows laptop for use in Reaper
This thing sounds great ! Gotta get one . Looks much better than the joyo onb I have . I mean no comparison . I also have a Trio plus pedal which is fun but the tone on this pedal blows them away .
IMHO the tap pads are useless on the sdrum. The muted string control works just fine and is way more convenient in a jam/practice setting when you're composing on the fly.
If you hade the money, would you get the beat buddy instead or do you recon this is enough? (in terms of creating custom beats, fills, uploading your own audio files etec)
Hey mate was just looking at the beat buddy when I came across this Just wanting some big kick sounds to use on live acoustic gigs Is the tap tempo accurate and fast ?Will be tapping out time per song so it needs to get a bpm pretty quick which is where the beat buddy lacks apparently?? Also is the velocity midi controllable ? Cheers
how did you get the x2 editor to not be 300 times larger than your screen? Mine is in super zoom mode, I have to slide the entire thing all around like crazy just to do anything. It's crazy and I can't seem to adjust the size at all. Weird. Tried to delete and redownload, and nothing changes. Still zoomed in like crazy and super HUGE!
ok this is like the Digitech Trio Plus, this software looks good trio has effects loop for multi effects .looks like this uses plug ins i guess you have to be on your computer to get the sound?
Is this very different from a drum machine? I first used them over forty years ago, and they pretty much did then what they do now, albeit with less convincing sounds.
I feel like pedal companies fear making large pedals, like yeah, we don't like things taking up space on our pedal board, but when there's missing super good possibilities, or the need for things like additional controller hardware, hhhhh like, the c4 synth pedal, can't scroll presets or much foot control, but is also one if not the most customizable pedal on the market, the mooer x2 drummer, is probably the best drum pedal on the market, and I think it has a preset scroller! but, how much would it have been to just add like one extra button, so I don't have to switch to scroll mode mid playing, the potential is worth the extra space basically, rc 600, without a doubt best looping station, no shame in taking up pedalboard space, -bassist perspective, guitarists might feel different idk
OK so I don't want to use the APP, I'm Just a Freaking Bass Player Man, Do I need to use the app to use this pedal for practicing, does it have enough loaded into is for a good practice thing, I've been tossing between this and the Beat Buddy Mini, but I want the one that gives me the most features without using the APP to work it......what do you think?????? OH By the way, Love your Riffs man, good stuff.....
It rules in every way, except that many of the beats are a bit busy. And it doesn't sound great though my guitar amp (can't hear cymbals). Excellent though a PA, however.
I'm a drummer, and it's one of the coolest things I've seen. If nothing else, it'll give you flailing no-clock guitarists some metronome time.
LOL @ flailing no-clock guitarists 😂
As a guitarist learning to play drums I love this so much!
I'm a drummer who learned guitar. My scales are always in time.
@@cheese9580 And out of tune. :) Sorry, I had to....
Those guys that hang around with musicians,.. drummers🙊 are becoming obsolete?

Finally, a drummer who likes to work with midi.
🤣
I've had the mooer microdrummer on my board forever. This looks like an awesome upgrade.
Thanks for the vid. Nicely presented.
💪💪💪
Genuine question, how do you use the microdrummer? I tried mine with it plugged into my amp but of course as soon as there is any distortion in your amp settings, it doesn't sound great.
I run the microdrummer in the fx loop of my amp. That and my looper.
We could only dream of pedals like that back in the day. That open hi-hat for the Metal beat pattern was awesome. Oftentimes they are too short in duration. They nailed it for that category. Also, great sound on your guitar, Taylor.
Cool new beat box , Im all in . I would definitely use that at home recording as you know drums are the biggest factor in home recording .
I don't know what I liked the most, the pedal or your riffs. Just incredible.
Thanks dude 💪🥳
This pedal and looper shall help a kot of song writers, especially when they're away from their PC/main Studio. i'm gonna buy it when available in my region
I think so! I think it's not a bad deal if you wanted to bring something in your gig bag to practice, but don't want to lug around a laptop and audio interface just to jam to some drum loops.
Taylor thanks bro exactly what I wanted to know about this pedal
The beatbuddy has kind of been doing this for years - has better life functionality too as can have A/B parts for each song and different loops for each.
But they're more expensive
@@stuartcarter7053 You are correct, but it's more than double the price.
Is there a way to sync the x2 drummer with the x2 looper so that they start at the same time?
Nice video. Really dig the vibe on your channel!
Glad you enjoy it!
GREAT JOB ON THIS DEMO AND GREAT GUITAR TONE TOO!
Excellent demo

Great demo.. But whatare you usingfor the guitar tone? Sounds gorgeous
Looks a lot more reliable than my actual drummer 🤔
Hi Taylor, its nice to see the addition of My Nightmare artwork on the wall! Matthew Peak
DUDE. I love your artwork! I've actually owned that poster a few times over because I like it so much 😂
does is also arrive late for practice?
Depends on if it's girlfriend can give it a ride..
I use mine to augment my Boss looper living room performances.
Which looper are you using?
YES!! This is the drum machine pedal I've been waiting for. AND it is Affordable.
Thanks for doing the demo review, I'm gonna have to buy one of these pedals, do you have a review on the other 2 pedals that were connected to the drum pedal, thanks in advance.
I do! ruclips.net/video/IPQoYPSIszA/видео.html
Can it do the NOFX beat?
I have a Beat Buddy already, but if anything ever goes wrong with it I think I might get one of these to replace it. It looks a lot easier to program to me.
There’s no programming with Beat Buddy.

Can this sync with the Looper X2? How would you use them together?
I see you have a Peavey XXL in the background. I have one as well. Great demo of this new drum pedal. You're guitar tone is sick as hell!
I'm looking forward to mine. It should show up tomorrow
Sheesh!! That guitar tone is NNNNNASTY BRUTAL.
💪
And drowns out the drum machine during a drum machine demo... really, dude?

Great video! Very cool pedal
Great demo! I bought this pedal but can't download the software. Whats a good link to get it?
Nothing will really beat the excitement of five guys or four. In a room. Putting it all together. Nothing.
How would you compare this to the digitech Sdrum or the Singular Sound beat buddy? Seem like a great value.
Awesome pedal, Taylor! This is a perfect tool for some bands and musicians. Of course not for everyone otherwise drummers without a job. I don't want that! Cheers
I like the old "preset" drum boxs, rocknroll, Bosanova, pop 1, pop 2, waltz just push the button and go.
I got the brother "Grove Loop Drummer" (silver). The speed knob is a critical function, and these Mooer pedals have it.🙂
This seems to be a really interesting pedal. It’s too bad that the guitar drowned it out.
OMG I just ordered mine 🎉
Me too. How you liking yours so far?
It’s cool and it doesn’t take the whole room lol
The tone is pretty good for a tiny box so much better than a click but I haven’t had a lot of time to explore it yet, so far so good = )
Love playing with drum machines and that thing is Tight
I thought that sounded great! Seems like it would be extremely fun and much better than messing around with the computer all the time to make drum patterns. Does it have the option to replace individual sounds? Example: can just the kick be switched to something boomier?
As far as I could tell, you just have the built in styles. No control over actual kit components.

How does it compare to a sdrum pedal?
Can we edit the pattern?
Props on the Lee Jackson designed Crate and Ampeg!
Can you arrange a full song’s worth of drums on the app, then load them onto the pedal and not have to manually switch parts? Not sure if the pedal can do that or not.
In a box?! This solves the biggest hassle of popular drum machines which are just a BAG OF PARTS.
I want drums to record, so can I write beats and fills of my own in the editor then program songs to be recorded against a click track, on a windows laptop for use in Reaper
The BeatBuddy Mini 2 has a long tap which fills and transitions from a verse to a chorus style beat, which sounds handy. Does this do the same pls?
Dumb question but you can just plug this in through your amp amd itll play the drums through the amp right?
This thing sounds great ! Gotta get one . Looks much better than the joyo onb I have . I mean no comparison . I also have a Trio plus pedal which is fun but the tone on this pedal blows them away .
Wish there were more options for bass machines. With fills.
Where do you get the app?
Wish the was blended with features of the SDrum with the tap pads and the stereo out...the we would have some perfection on our hands
IMHO the tap pads are useless on the sdrum. The muted string control works just fine and is way more convenient in a jam/practice setting when you're composing on the fly.
Is there a Way to SWITCH between saved SONGS on the pedal within the Pedal , or is this something you do on the Software only
I like your playing!🌟
Can you record the pedal in logic so you don't have to program drums, you can just use what the pedal has made?
Will it do other genres? Or is it metal only? Id love to have a drum machine instead of a click when recording my piano.
Is this pedal fully programmable
Very cool sounding pedal and an awesome tone man!
How does this compare to Beatbuddy? I already have the BB…
How good does it sound blending the two sounds together and going through the amp and 4x12?
I don’t have a computer. Does it have an iPhone app?
I don't have an iPhone, does ist have a web app?
If you hade the money, would you get the beat buddy instead or do you recon this is enough? (in terms of creating custom beats, fills, uploading your own audio files etec)
Would you thank most of your tone to the emgs? Or the cab?
Where do I download the app for this pedal anyone please.

Is it possible to map a VST instruments on it? Because plain MIDI is boring.
gr8 review; really appreciate “intents and purposes” rather than the more commonly used “intensive purposes”!

Can you sync tempo with midi devices??

It probably relies on your OS personalized DPI settings.
But does it bring beer?
Unfortunately, it drank all the beer and slept with your sister..
is it possible to use a 6 band eq after a drum pedal to get control of the drum kit parameters?
ok this is like the Digitech Trio Plus, this software looks good trio has effects loop for multi effects .looks like this uses plug ins i guess you have to be on your computer to get the sound?

Can the tap tempo sync with HX Stomp?
Would be god-tier if the looper and drummer would sync together... the BB+Aeros or RC-10R need some budget competition.
so just Logic's drummer or EZDrummer ?
Ок, is it possible to put it after distortion pedal and then to preamp? In a chain?
I've just found out the amp must be in the clean channel.. If you switch to dirty/disto channel, you'll a distorted drum sound...
I thought it would be cheaper than the beat buddy mini2, cause Mooer is always priced right!
