We used to have 230s on the Bletchley to Bedford line. I think they’re going to the Greenford line now… but we will soon be getting East West rail here, so please make sure you come for that.

If you ever get youre bike sorted or just feel like a long walk you should check out the Chester milenium greenway. It follows the old rail line between Shotton/Hawarden bridge and Chester. I used to ride it everyday to work and there are still a few interesting bits of infrastructure left over
I did wonder until you mentioned it - my first reaction on seeing that 230 was: "What's that underground train doing there?!" Nice to see Wrexham - I have friends there, but have never actually visited the place yet. Also, I do like that "Proud" t-shirt!
Nice to see that TfW using the Class 230s. Wish that London Northwestern Railway would have kept the Class 230 on the Marston Vale line which are to be transferred to GWR. And for GWR to use the Class 230s on the West Ealing-Greenford branch line and to be converted to Battery power.

I didn't know Hawarden Bridge was a request stop. I knew it got a limited peak time service during the week, but also didn't know it had a regular sunday service. I am hopefully going back to do Penyffordd, Hawarden, and all stops north of Shotton to finish off the Borderlands Line (as well as West Kirby to Birkenhead and the 2 stops before New Brighton, to finish off the Wirral Line too) in a couple of weeks, as one of my partners' flats backs onto the line between General and Central.

Lol you mentioning E biking near that bridge just makes me wish I could take my own bike (which isn't an E bike) to more places on the train.

If you ever go to the Continent, there are a couple of interesting railway bridges to walk across. Cologne has a big mainline bridge with a walkway alongside. And in Switzerland, the walkway across the Wiesen viaduct is quite spectacular (at least I assume it's still there, it's been a few years since I was there).

Great vlog G! Love those trains! I spent countless hours commuting on the District Line. Weirdly, despite all the conversion work, the sound is so recognisable. Great they have found an afterlife in the Welsh borderlands.

It's pronounced harden not hewarden lol. Btw cycling along the river dee on that path will take you straight into chester. It's one of my favourite paths.

Class 230s are cool. Never ridden one in the ‘wild’, but I have ridden on the battery version when it came to Bo’ness. It’s a real shame that Vivarail went into receivership. The people I met from the company were really enthusiastic about the train.

I wonder what the 230’s are like for huge suitcases - there are huge improvements needed for the Manchester to Holyhead route on SailRail, especially more direct services - and there should be services from Manchester Victoria to Liverpool to join the cruise ships or ferries to Dublin, across all U.K. rail operators

I spent Friday the 3rd Nov in the morning with 230007 and I was quite impressed albeit late ( due to freights ) the unit itself was very credible
158901 - 158910 only have one toilet, as they were originally built specifically for West Yorkshire PTE..
