I grew up in San Francisco with Tony. He was good friends with the owner of my favorite restaurant. Would sit after hours with Tony and Gino and a couple other regulars and just enjoy wine, pasta and good conversation. Also a singer, I would sing for Tony. He was gentle with criticism and really instilled confidence. This was the early 80s. Remember like it was yesterday.
Successive weekends Lady Gaga has transfixed millions of watchers with her good grace and humanity. It unlikely that there is a more popular entertainer in the world at the moment.
How come stories like this don't make the headlines? Maybe she should've slapped Kanye West or something and THEN we'd be hearing about it. That's the level of interest in celebrity happenings these days.

Still following in Madonnas foot steps I see with all the bad facial procedures. All that filler has made her head look humongous and so much Botox has given her the Spock eyebrows. If she can’t find a good injector (one that’s not afraid to tell her no at a certain point) then she should just leave it alone. She looked better before anyway. I’m not against filler or Botox. Both can be great when applied correctly. She crosses over into the ridiculous everytime she goes in for a touch up.
Love Lady Gaga. However, this performance was cringy. Too much video. Not intimate. The Vegas vibe is crass and phony. Very difficult for any artist, even Lady Gaga, to overcome.
I thought it a bit weird how she was emulating both Judy Garland and Billie Holiday, but attaining neither and sounding affected, and looking the same..
Her performance was awfully abysmal. Her body movements were jerky and her voice affected. Having seen her and Bennett live, in person, and been surprised at what she pulled off, this was absolutely horrible. She did NOT "nail it" like everyone seems to think. (And I am speaking as a professional jazz musician.) The masses and Billie Elish may be fooled into thinking her a "jazz vocalist", but any jazz musician who makes their living day in and day out from this music will tell you that this is NOT what real jazz music is or is about; let alone what a "jazz vocalist" is or should be. Still, almost no one is educated on the matter. Her fans will continue to be amazed and in the dark. And yet the jazz genre will be what most musicians think is the pinnacle of what it means to be "bona fide". And since most pop artists can do it and wouldn't try to reach for it, a sloppy, camp, and atrocious perform is what they will settle for, never knowing the difference, and not really caring about the music at the end of the day. The "appearance" of her attempt is enough to satisfy them and she knows it. ain’t nobody reading all that babe. music is abt enjoyment at the foremost anyways, not simply abt oneupping each other with technicalities & accuracy. if you don’t like it then who gives af, but many ppl do even if they don’t have such a worldly experience with jazz music such as you proclaim to have, so literally who cares, you try singing flawlessly in front of a crowd of industry people along with millions of viewers watching it live.
Another jealous jazz snob crying sloppy tears because Lady G is making tons of money from her jazz recordings and performances and they are not . I suggest that you wind your neck and salty opinions in dude ..it IS jazz she is singing whether you like it or not .
That video with Tony introducing her ... 😭That brought a tear to my eye.

Another Gaga's Grammy thanks to another artist, this time, the consecrated and aged Tony Bennet.
And off course the usual crying
Oh ny

Gaga acts like a well groomed Nurseing home attendant.
it's not. I have a food handlers license... plus, the hard exoskeleton of the corndog keeps bacteria at bay
we don't care
You do realize that Tony Bennett is not dead right?
But he doesn’t remember who he is
