    This video helped me a lot. Thanks.

    Thanks for the nice explanation. I would have one question: what if I replace the heat pad with paste? Acutally I've never seen systems with this pad before, only with paste also for the same CPU, however from other manufacturer.. thanks in advance! 😊

      You can use thermal putty instead of thermal pads but not thermal paste. I recommend using Upsiren U6 PRO: alii.pub/6nugj5

      Pads are typically used to fill a gap to ensure contact. Like in this video, the two dies on the CPU package are on the same plane but the pad is used because the heatsink is reccessed for the second die. Pads are far worse than pastes for thermal conductivity so should be replaced if you're sure the heatsink will actually firmly touch the intended surface.

    Hi. What is the purpose of that extra chip (which has pink thermal pad) for? Is it part of CPU or some RAM component?

    did yuh also put tge thermal paste on igpu part along wd chnaging the pad??? pls confirm

      No! For the GPU die, you can only use a thermal pad or thermal putty. The latter option is better in terms of ease of application and performance. The links are in the description.

    whats the thickness of that thermal pad on IGpu ... can yuh help me give its link to buy 😊

      Like I said in the video, you need a 1mm pad. All the links in the video description.

    Where does this chart/readout with the temps originate from and does it work on other computers other than DELL?

      This is Aida64 Extreme app which is used for PC diagnostics. This is the best one with a whole bunch of features. You can use it with any PC. You can download the trial version from the official website or if you want I could share with you my full version.

    Can you just use a PTM 7950 thermal pad on instead of thermal paste for the whole thing?

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Год назад +1

      In theory you can but you wouldn't gain anything from it. thermal conductivity of PTM 7950 is just 8.5W/mk/ when grizzly paste has 12.5W/mk/. Also we switched to GELID Solutions GP-Ultimate 15W/MK thermal pads which are the best at the moment on the market. alii.pub/6p4kar

    Hi there! I was pulling out the copper heat pipe from the cpu and it got detached from two horizontal lines across the cpu. They still remain attached the cpu. But. The black pipe came of. What should i do

      I think i broke the heat sink :(((((

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Год назад

      You need to replace the heat sink or solder the pipe back to the plate.

    can i use liquid metal with this

    • @ElectronicsComputers
      @ElectronicsComputers  Год назад

      Yes, you can. There's no capacitors on the CPU's PCB. But it wouldn't make any difference because that heatsink is not capable of dissipating more heat than it already does with any good thermal paste.

      @@ElectronicsComputers thanks for the prompt reply. So I should go with the thermal paste as it is much reliance and will last longer
