  • Jamie and Doug discuss their extremely challenging past week. Jamie found out her Grandmother passed away, which was the first time someone she knew all her life had passed. Jamie talks about the relationship they had, and we learn more about their family dynamic. She opens up about how her grandmother’s passing has, in a way, helped reconnect Jamie and her mom. Hear about Jamie’s 3 hour phone call with her mother, and how this may have had a positive impact on her mother’s outlook on life. Jamie also had a girlfran Sarah pass away a few days later to ovarian cancer. Doug and Jamie reflect on how quick life can be taken away, and how lucky they are to be living. Sarah has made such a profound impact in Jamie’s life, and how she looks at depression, anxiety, and complaining in a whole new light. Sarah knew she was given 2 to 5 years left, and fought every day to stay here on earth, and her one big wish was to see her son off to kindergarten this year. Hear Sarah’s story, and how important it is to advocate for your body, your health, and your family.

There is important info missing from your report about your friend. It's hard to believe she didn't have imaging done for all her heavy periods. I am an ultrasound tech and we do tests for the simplest of problems. Heavy bleeding is the number one reason why we do sonos. Either someone missed something or we don't have a complete history.

In my personal experience, I complained of heavy periods to my NP who told me that they don't treat it unless there are clinical symptoms like anemia. She did bloodwork and I was anemic. She still didn't do anything, just said to take iron daily. A couple of years later I went to an OBGYN with my complaints. I was so afraid of being brushed off that I had recorded MONTHS of how many pads/tampons I went through and how saturated they were to give her an idea of how heavy my periods were (I figured it around 10X as heavy as a normal period is expected to be). She didn't even look at my records and just said "if it bothers you it needs to be treated." I literally cried because she heard me and listened. THEN I got an ultrasound. If this friend was blown off when she complained about her heavy periods like I was, it is quite possible that she would not have had the imaging that could have diagnosed her cancer early. It's not that hard to believe since her Dr also refused to do a hysterectomy despite her very solid reasons for wanting one. Her providers were clearly not listening to her. I had my hysterectomy 3 years ago and I am no longer anemic. It was absolutely life changing for me.

What does the husband have to say? Have you interviewed him?

And you are a nurse! You can't just go to a doctor and say remove my organs.

This doesn’t sit right. I’ve followed you for years on instagram, but when you kept posting about Sarah’s passing (and making money by doing so)… it was bothersome. Now… a video making more off her death 😢 wish you the best. It’s time to move on

Or maybe their trying to raise awareness about it!

I guess there isn't a guy involved in this situation. Because a husband would have a say in the situation.
