@@hman2912 I think if you look at it from another angle it looks like that's how things work. If you didn't deliver the waste artificially into the body it will be delivered directly or indirectly naturally. In some cases waste from humans, animals etc. end up in a river. Some of the rivers water is recycled back for human consumption. Some evaporate to the clouds and recycled as rain. So, whenever you drink water you will be drinking water that contain some parts that are from the poop or urine of someone.

@@catborg780 Yes! That's what the section was about. By altering the bacteria in the gut, it can affect the production of certain chemicals used by the brain. Very interesting.
I almost died from overgrowth (bacteria, yeast, etc) after lots of antibiotics for MRSA, and my gut/ brain haven't been even 10% of what they were before getting sick. After feeling like death every time you eat, and having everything exit you, like an extreme faucet within hours of eating, you would do just about anything for an improvement. A FMT is on my wish list- but in the U.S you have to almost die from c-diff multiple times, and it's around $15k last time I checked to have it done in other places :( (But would likely give me my life back).
I'm not a doctor, this comment is for entertainment purposes only, don't try this at home etc etc, Buuuut in one study the results were something like "8 patients cured and stayed cured for at least 6 months, one patient was not cured at the 6-month mark but was cured by a second dose, one patient did not return for the 6-mo followup, we reached out to him and found out it had worked great for 3 months but he relapsed, then he DIY'd a second dose with the help of his roommate and was doing great again."
If you are finding it hard to get it done in USA then I would suggest you to get it done here at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi, India. I got it done three times although my disease was a liver disease(Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) and ultimately had to undergo liver transplantation in 2021.
FMT has been probably one of the best decisions I have ever taken, I have improved so much and can tolerate foods I could not in the past after many years of antibiotics and useless probiotics.
I am hoping that they do a trial with for long covid patients, since that is another illness that seems significantly linked to the gut. Prayers and love! ❤
i used to get disgusted by the possibility or idea of various types of microorganisms living inside the gut but now i'm starting to accept and reconsider letting those tiny settlers stay inside me.
Very interesting. I saw somewhere, only yesterday, that neurotransmitters are produced in the gut and that, therefore, a healthy microbiome helps against depression and mood disorders. Is that true?
Ah, it’s exactly as I thought. But the poo bank was a new thing. Would like to know what the strict guidelines are to accept only 3% of donations. Is it like a strict diet and fasting? Do people apply? Can you just submit a sample and they’ll get back to you?? Will they in the future be able to identify these different gut bacteria and just do special selections for specific needs/ patients like an herbal medicine shop but with bacteria cultures? The possibilities. 😮🎉🎉
Whatever was spoken about here is anything but exciting 🤣🤣 Edit- it takes time for the information to sink in as someone who has heard this for the first time
This is why human babies need to feed directly from mom after birth; humans, like cows, produce colostrum for about a week after birth (with traces for some weeks after), and this provides the baby with immune system microbes. Breastfeeding, while it might make some of us uncomfortable (including me, and especially in public), is still very important for the health of the future of our species.
Is this actually a thing? I hear people with Parkinson’s have weird gut biomes, but that there aren’t many reliable studies that say eating poop capsules (a common trick some people suggest) will help at all, since they’re probably killed in the stomach.
The best way to avoid C-Diff is to take probiotics. By putting the good bugs back into the body. With C-DIFF only bad bugs are running rampant in your intestines what people don't realize is that Probiotics need a cold environment. And give them time to thrive in that environment by avoiding things that are warm or hot.
So when you say "eat shxt" to people now, it's actually a blessing and you're actually wishing them well
