This was the most calming tutorial I've EVER seen/heard. This is a masterpiece. This is exactly what I'd want after fighting a part every how to video should be like this. Like your calm uncle gently explaining things
@@lobanoriginals3307 idk how you got the dang cable to loosen enough to get the cables out of the controls I ended up having to pull my air box lift the tank a bit and loose. The adjusters on the throttle body to get enough slack.
Thanks man! I took the exact same grips off, installed the exact same grips. I have the exact same bike. Funny. Those old grips, the rubber kept coming out of the grips. I will enjoy these Avon. Your help made it fast.
Man, I'm about to order those same grips for my Honda Valkyrie. you showed every view and close up of the grips I wanted to see. Way better than the pictures on the website. Thanks man. anyone ever tell you that you sound like Denzel?
Funny...I've been using a set of Kuryakyn grips designed for a Triump with the "B" style cam on my VTX 1800 for years now without a single issue. I've never understood why Honda did it different?
How did you get enough slack in your throttle cables? I bought the same grips and can’t get the OEM sleeve off because the cables are too tight . I adjusted right near switch housing to no avail.
My cables were extended. You may have to disconnect or adjust the cables at the carb, or throttle body (depending on the type of bike) in order to gain enough slack.
You’re absolutely right… I did so much to this bike I forgot I changed the cables. I couldn’t figure out why some people were having problems installing the grips… Thanks for the observation
You install them the same way they were removed. You just have to make sure you have enough slack in your throttle cables. You may have to back the adjustment out almost all the way… Hope this helps
I have all of the same connections you have loose and the cables will not go back on. We had to break the plastic from the old one to even get them off.

I tried a pair of Avons, but that universal adapter you glue on was way too thick for my throttle cables to wrap around. Ended up trashing them.
Sorry to hear that😔
Thansk brother. Nice video.
Thanks for watching!
I was forced to remove the tank and breather box in order to get enough slack in the cables to get the throttle side loose!

how tall are your apes? and where did you purchase your handlebar cable extensions for the taller bars?
They’re 16”. I got the extended cables off eBay. They’re +8 over stock length
@@lobanoriginals3307 Thank You!
Did yours come with the glue? Mine did not.
Yes, they came with a small tube of super glue.
he didn't have a problem installing the throttle cables to the grip because he has extended cables not OEM

cool grips
Thanks!
Niiiiice!
👍🏽
How did you get the cables out seem like mine didn’t want to come out
I backed off the adjustments all the way and they came right out… for some reason it seems like a lot of people are having that issue
Don’t skip parts that’s what people need to see
What was skipped?
Got a parts link for the grips?

You skipped the most important part how to get those cables back on without breaking that damn plastic. I'm having one heck of a Time.
