GM does not acknowledge the wear and life reduction of the timing chain or the balance chain set. Beware, these engines and similar variations were all likely to fail in vehicles like Terrains, Equinox', Buicks, etc.
2015 Terrains had a product change eliminating the issue; all other model year owners were then abandoned by GM.
