After this video was published, the free 1.6 DLC trial period has ended. But the "you don't need to own tracks to race them in multiplayer" is still true.
Highly recommend trying out the Group A on LFM. It seems a little more civil than the other series I’ve raced so far and the cars are loads of fun to drive! Bonus points if you use an h-pattern and clutch.
Don't forget those cars had a manual dogbox, so you don't really need the clutch, just a blip to downshift but it's faster and safer to clutch for upshifts. Extra points for realism.
Just did my first Group A. Absolute riot of a race, so much fun. People get caught up in physics/realism arguments alot, but we are mostly here to have fun and the AMS2/LFM combo is a lot of that IMO. Group A is awesome, will be doing more.
Nice video as always. Automobilista 2 is a great game and after the recent update, it is now also a solid sim. I’ve been racing on LFM and had a lot of fun. Like you said, everyone has the same ratings now so you have to watch out for inexperienced drivers.
Reiza chose to allow players to join lobbies at DLC tracks rather than create more divisions than absolutely neccessary in online racing, the only time you'd not be able to join is if there are no Base Game Cars available for use. It breaks down like this... For any new player with base game only: DLC cars + ANY track = No access. (Car DLC required). BG cars + ANY track = Open access to everyone. DLC + BG cars + ANY track = Open with DLC cars restricted. LFM are running LMDh and GT3 Gen2 event so you HAVE to own endurance pack pt1 (and sign up to LFM ofc...) at the absolute minimum to be able to join in. If they added the older GT3 Gen 1 cars (They haven't due to the IMSA license not running that class), then those without any DLC's could still take part. On the flipsdie they also (Currently) list a GT1 event at Le Mans, all LFM members can enter this event.
I’ve been playing ACC for 6 months, just started with AMS2 and it drives a little different. Some of the leagues I’m in are looking at doing some races on AMS2 so I’ll give it a chance. Great video, looks like you were having fun.
AMS2 Allows all the content to be available when racing online, so you can view other cars you don't own and race on tracks you don't own. It's brilliant and makes online racing way better...
I tend to agree, however the real added value of AMS2 are historic track, formula 1 and sportscars. I would like LFM to give them as much space as modern endurance series
Was an LFM virgin until tonight and did the AMS2 IMSA race and streamed it on Twitch and RUclips. Was very fun but took some getting used to format and startup. The driving standards of many were pretty messy but hopefully eventually that improves. :)
With the right car and track combination Ams2 become the ultimate jump in and race funbox. Its not needed to be as hyper mature like lmu or rfactor 2. The funfactor is real in this, like gt7 joy.
When your main point to produce as clear ffb as you can technically get from a sim. Rfactor2 did a superior job on this years ago, where automobilista 2 is just unable to reach with this engine. But its not necessary needed, if we can got this fun gameplay out of the box.. at least for me.
@@simracing_evolve have you tried any custom ffb for ams2? It changed it from fun sim to the best sim for me. There's quite a few options out there for different preferences of ffb too.
@@simracing_evolve I have never seen populated lobbies with ac with rss or vrc mods, so you can't really do 'hyper mature' serious fancyass racing with it
The lfm races have been pretty good, done a few and were fun but it's a bit buggy though with the odd random disconnect which unfortunately counts as a dnf in the lfm race ratings.
They stated that career mode will be in the last update to the game. I wouldn't expect it till next year December. Also if this LFM thing will be a huge success to the sales of the game I think they will still invest in tweaking the multilayer and it will delay career mode more.
yes but it don’t work in the menu. You must go in Document/ams2 en open the triples file with notepad and set your resolution each screen and set forces triples on “true “
I like them, except for the view. They have a giant dash and a tiny windshield that's really far away. I can't seem to find a seating position that looks good.
@DerekMoore82 I run 88 FOV with the seat set lower and slightly forward with a single 21:9 monitor. The dash still takes up more screen than I'd like I'd have to admit though
@Haulinbassracing I'm on a 21:9 as well. It turned out it was just the Chevy Cruze, I tried the Corolla and it was better visibility, and the Brazilian one I tried was also better.
been trying ams2 on lfm and as I'm not very fast but am safe I keep qualifying at the back and getting killed at the beginning of races so yes the ams 2 is good with the new update but it's a pretty bad time for some of us.
You can learn to avoid the mayhem, it's part of the skillset of online racing tbh. Happens on iRacing as well. It's probablt a little trickier on LFM as they have bigger grids. I'd stick to Ginetta to start with and let the carnage unfold in front of you. Safe driving will net you a bunch of places.
@@mikecroshaw9233 Exactly. In my case the carnage at the first corner means I will have very good results. In most cases I have way better finish position than players who have way better best lap times than me but doesn't slow down when they see three wide before tight turn in front of them.
Painful as everyone starting on the same playing feild but some exoereinced drivers like yiurself racing with beginners who can control high powerd cars and smash you to peices
Heads up, ppl that have come to the comments section, that there's actually a major issue with AMS2 right now and if you already have an LFM account, it's best to avoid AMS2 altogether. Online races aren't being scored correctly due to an AMS2 desync bug that's been around for a while, and LFM is basically powerless to detect it or fix it. It's regularly showing race-winning cars as "DNF", and giving people incident points they didn't actually acquire. All of the championship standings on LFM are completely messed up, people have lost hundreds or even thousands of Elo points they've worked hard to acquire, and are going down entire safety rank categories through no fault of ther own. Basically, if you play AMS2 on LFM, it corrupts your account. LFM has known about this for about a week, and isn't overturning results or has even announced it on their main page.
What happened to your video regarding this? Glad to see you commented about it here! Was hoping to link the video to my league's discord. Appreciate you doing what you can to make others aware of this. 👍
Look. I do not wanna try racing Automobilista 2 on LFM. Why are you telling me I should try this? I also don't have a PC because Automobilista 2 is a PC exclusive.
Yeah. iRacing seems pricier then weak ago ;) But I think iRacing still will have better driving. I have 25 races on iracing and two times some drivers intentionally crash into me. And both were suspended. Question is: Is this worth the high price tag?
After this video was published, the free 1.6 DLC trial period has ended. But the "you don't need to own tracks to race them in multiplayer" is still true.
Yes, I think Reiza introduced this around a year ago. It was confirmed in their official update notes.
Actually it is in ams2 what I remember.. At least 3years
That's amazing!
Highly recommend trying out the Group A on LFM. It seems a little more civil than the other series I’ve raced so far and the cars are loads of fun to drive! Bonus points if you use an h-pattern and clutch.
been having a ton of fun except those darn low speed corners
Don't forget those cars had a manual dogbox, so you don't really need the clutch, just a blip to downshift but it's faster and safer to clutch for upshifts. Extra points for realism.
@hugovai89 I can't *NOT* clutch when I heel n' toe downshift, it's just muscle memory.

I was looking for a tutorial on LFM, and could not find any until this 😀. Awesome video!

Hey! Nice, thanks for this.
Great work, thanks for this!
Great guide as ever ,think I'll get it a go
Really hope they setup some of the less popular content like the p3 or p4. Give us more analog car series please!
Thanks em, I’m signing up
Looks like you had fun.
Love AMS2
@EmreeRacing is fantastic... a great sim racer and ambassador, and easy on the eyes to boot!
Free weekend for the new DLC ended a few days ago
The lfm races have been pretty good, done a few and were fun but it's a bit buggy though with the odd random disconnect which unfortunately counts as a dnf in the lfm race ratings.
THX!
Your correct you only need to have 1 car in the online race to be able to race and dont need to own the track.
6:42 wreck!😯😯
does it require the LFM Driver License to race ams2 on LFM ?
I can’t get my direct drive wheel to show up and it worked before
Oh yeah do anyone know what is going to be in the career part of AMS 2?
They stated that career mode will be in the last update to the game. I wouldn't expect it till next year December. Also if this LFM thing will be a huge success to the sales of the game I think they will still invest in tweaking the multilayer and it will delay career mode more.
Does it support triple monitors? And what GPU is ideal to get 120+ fps?
yes but it don’t work in the menu. You must go in Document/ams2 en open the triples file with notepad and set your resolution each screen and set forces triples on “true “
Good triple support. 4080 with AMD X3D should do it 👍🏻 -Michel
Can newcomers join LFM? I was under the impression you had to be an experienced driver with points established.
Newcomers can join.
@RichAbe23 Thank you!
In the race the drivers name appears above them along with their position. What is the yellow number representing?
I think it's the ping
What's the difference between LFM and for example Racecraft Online or Racedepartment? Is it somehow more integrated into the game?
@@_Arthur- no, it just has a bigger player base and is better organized overall IMO
Ok, thanks!
Why oh why did they not make a series for brazillian stock cars, they are the best driving cars in the game
