Good review Andrew. I am liking this solar more and more as I understand it better. Thank you!! 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
After reading many reviews and watching a lot of videos, I chose this option for my first backup power station. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxHypYDKHAN93Lp2RQpfvU_ksc70wJ00pt I was between this and a larger option that could power a wider range of items, but the price/size/capacity blend seemed right for this unit. Hasn't gotten a ton of use yet, but the build quality is solid and it charges fine via the Rockpals solar panel I purchased to pair with it. One thing to note is that the screen is optimized for a top down viewing angle, which makes sense, but this means it washes out at other angles - especially low angles. Not a huge deal, but perhaps a better option for the display could be used to provide wider viewing angles.
Generators are heavy as well.
It’s amazing how far technology is coming Andrew I so appreciate these review videos and the testing and hard work you put into it
It is, these devices intrigue me. Batteries running a whole house AC unit..... Crazy!
I am so on the page of using the grid as the backup...nice plans you have.
Hi, Andrew! You have probably saved people a lot of money by doing these reviews. Keep up the good work.
Hey, thanks!
Andrew, once again a fantastic review. Technology has drastically changed since the first solar systems came out and Bell Labs patented the first practical solar cells back in 1954.
Sure has!
Very impressive vid. Good to know that you guys will be totally sustainable in an emergency situation without the proverbial fuel search for generators. I wish I had some sort of backup power source...thankfully here in the valley we rarely lose power or have severe weather or I'd be majorly SOL! Lookin forward to the solar array addition. Best wishes to all from Idaho💜💜
I'm buying propane in bulk as well to make sure we are for sure covered.
This a very good video. Very informative and you do a good job at explaining how these units work. I have been eyeballing Ecoflow for a few yrs now, I didn’t understand how it would be hooked up to my home but now after watching your videos, I see that it is doable.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great, super informative video. Great job again Andrew.
Thank you for watching
Nice! The joy of a warm climate you can have your pump and pressure tank outdoors like that. Those delta pros handle spikes real nice
They sure can, 7200 watts can handle most surges.
Thank you so much for your video. I live in a flood plain in katy tx and we suffered tax flood, Harvey, the great freeze of texas, and Ive become so worried now with how the weather has been changing. Your video address my concerns of what I need to prepare my house. Ive got a dual gas generator, and set up like yours for the Fuse box and plug, now I just need to save up for the battery generator. I'll feel more a peace when I can finally have a battery generator, knowing I can power my well and my house. You are helping allot of people who dont know what to buy, and how these battery generators work. I hope soon I can at lease purchase one before the next disaster comes.
I live near the coast in Florida so we are always concerned about storms. I also have generators and power stations to get us through. The power stations are nice to run at night since they are quiet and you can run them indoors as soon as the power goes out.
Another awesome informational video! Andrew, with the power banks and solar collectors, there's no reason to buy power unless you really need it for your heavy duty tools, especially when you build a house as tight as yours. Good job bro 👍🐓
Thank you for watching
Great videos on these products! All the videos about them convinced me to purchased the Delta Pro with a back-up battery, the 400W portable solar panels, and all the chords and adapters. Testing it this weekend through my 50amp generator terminal. Awesome content on your channel overall!
Did you get the phase bonded TT30 plug since you are running 120 through a 240 panel? Don't forget to keep all 240v breakers off. You've got a lot of storage there with that extra battery. I'd love to have a couple of them
@@TKCL I bought the adapter for my generator hook-up and the 30amp umbilical chord listed in your notes, and a 30', 30amp chord to keep the generators in my garage while they are connected. Everything connected perfectly. I switched the 200amp main house breaker off to switch on the 50amp generator inlet breaker, then turned off all the breakers to be safe. Once I turned on the Delta Pro, I flipped on the 120v breakers only. The generator came to life, cooling fans started up. The main and beverage refrigerators came on, a ceiling fan was running, and a few lights on initially, it was drawing about 475w. With the refrigerators off the house was using about 275w-350w. With the back-up battery, conserving power and utilizing the solar panels during the day to charge we could easily keep the refrigerators, lights and ceiling fans running 24hrs a day. Next up is to test the solar panels. Thanks again for the helpful content and excellent videos!
Awesome, happy to hear that. It's a good piece of mind having something like that whenever the power goes out or storm rolls in.
Thank you for another awesome AWESOME VIDEO TODAY. I’m doing a ton of homework before I invest in some kind of power backup on my property.
Blessings, Carlos ✝️🙏❤️😊❗️
Thank you for watching
Excellent review! Ecoflow needs to attach your review to their website!
That'd be awesome!
Great that you got the second one to test together, you talked about it many times:)))
I have been a little excited about it. They didn't disappoint me.
Hey Andrew just pulled the trigger on a ecoflow delta pro based off of your reviews. I'm not sure if they look at your comments in regard to their product however if they do I know of at least one sale they received because of your videos. Can't wait to get it, I bought one with the solar included I'm not ready to tackle an array project just yet. Thanks for such a great channel!
If you used the link in my video they track it and it shows me in it as well. I also have their panels, they do seem to produce what they claim. Enjoy it, I really do think it's a great unit if looking for portability.
Thank you so much for taking the time to document this. I've been reading all sorts of specs but at the end of the day will it really work? You answered that for us. Thank you again.
The thing to keep in mind with these systems is they are battery powered, you have to be realistic in your expectations on how long it will run things. Solar input helps greatly increase your run time.
Fantastic review my friend, I may buy one of these for my micro hunting cabin. Thank you for taking the time to create and share!
If you decide to buy, I can provide you with a discount code and link to save you more money. Just let me know, thanks for watching.
@@TKCL Thanks, I appreciate it!
Love your video…we live in the Tampa area and we have the EcoFlow generators with 2 extra batteries and the EcoFlow gas smart generator and 3 ea 400 watt solar panels. Was out of power 8 days with Irma now we don’t worry. Just need that 240 connector. Only used 1 EF generator with hurricane Ian but we didn’t have power for 8 hours. Ran refrigerator and tv. ( have over the air antenna in the attic with preamp.) again great video
I'd love to have that smart gen! That's a key to a system like this unless you get 4 extra batteries.
Pretty darn cool, Andrew. Thanks for the information!
Any time!
Good morning Mr Doug..... Yes I was shocked that those battery generators to power up that much 😳
@cash5150 Good morning, Cash. Yeah, the technology has come a long way my friend!
Awesome educational video. Thank you for sharing. 😀
Thanks for watching!

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on getting an EcoFlow setup like this, and I wanted to see if anyone had run a central AC with it, and how the soft-start worked out. This video answered all my questions (except I think my AC is twice what yours is). Many Thanks!
I had a gasoline generator feeding my panel after Ida, but fuel supply was really sketchy for a while. We eventually went to my parents' house with their bigger NG Generac. Would be nice to have dimmable power without having to hunt for fuel or defend the noisy generator, so we're probably going to get a couple of the 400w portable PV panels, too.
Thanks again for the real-life demo.
Your welcome, if you decide to purchase please use the link in my video. Doesn't cost you any extra and I have a discount code from the manufacturer to save you money.
I have 2 Titan solar generators. 1 can power my whole house minus the 220 stuff, house total electric, they have just came out with 240 model finally and it's 50amp not 30 amp like 2 delta pros connected. 1 Titan 50 amp 240 cheaper. Can be ran with the batteries of the other 120v Titan, and any other battery, lead acid, gel, lithium etc. Modular in design very portable limitless in storage capacity. Point Zero Energy was the standard for yrs before delta and now there back with there 240v as promised
hi there nice show well done john
The room your building is going to be super handy!
I think so
Andrew I like what you are doing with your system. You convinced me on the portable battery system (with a gas generator), it's cheaper, more options associated with this type of system. I don't like the idea of the batteries mounted to the wall or stand alone inverters etc. If I have to evacuate, I can take the system with me and survive on the road (just in case I can't get a motel room). There are far more options and I can buy a piece at a time and build up. Thank you for doing this, l love learning and saving time and more importantly money. Keep up the great work. I have a lot of homework to do.
Everyone has their own needs, some want portability and some want cheaper on the wall systems. I like options!
FANTASTIC!
Great video and info.
The Ecoflow Delta Pro looks like such a good system.
Wil be going a slightly different router here in the UK as I live in an urban area with not a lot of yard space. Built a 350w array which has been great so far and has bene running the kitchen via an Ecoflow Delta 1300 for the last 3 days.
It is however time to upgrade in the form of the new Delta 2 Max and extra battery. Going this route as I have a mix of solar panels that can be used on the units two mppt controllers. That should allow me to move the iron and washer over to the Delta 2 Max. Washer was a little too much for the Delta 1300's 1800w inverter.
I just tested that model. I really like the dual mppt controllers.
Another great review. You keep it up and you’re going to make me expand my solar 😂
🤣
Man this is cool! Thanks!
It is cool, batteries running a AC unit??? Technology sure has advanced!
I'm amazed!
Me too!
thank you great video
Thank you for watching
These are great solar generators/power stations; great review. We've recently moved to AZ and i left behind in the sale,, 1 DP and 1 Extra Battery, so this might be my next route. I was running 2x DPs + 2x Extra Batteries (14.4k kWh) to a smart home panel, and was able to control, automate 10 circuits - switching to batteries during peak hours in CA makes a difference. My only complaint is w/r/t the smart home panel - the original relays can be very touchy, with the contacts too short, which is bad because it also blocks grid power from kicking back in until you clean and/or replace it. Thankfully, EF has been shipping beefier/longer contact, and they cleared up.
They are running the biggest sale I've ever seen right now on the Delta pros and extra batteries. I also have a 5 percent off discount code on top of the sale prices. Here are my affiliate links.

Andrew, I really think you are onto something here. I appreciate all of the detail and thoughtfulness you put into these reviews. I am still on the fence but I am really leaning toward this system. Is it limited to just pairing two units or can you add battery capacity in addition? I love that they are a turn key solution. Great job with these off grid solutions I like all of your content however I really like these. You might want to check out gasification at some point I think that might be right up your ally. Love what you are doing!
You can add 4 additional batteries to this setup making it a powerhouse!
Great video thank you for sharing this information time to upgrade to a 50 amp receptacle.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great real world test, I wish my solar setup allowed for battery integration like this. My inverter is wire tapped before the main breaker so it shuts off during a power outage.
That defeats the purpose to me, battery backup sure is nice!
I installed the Micro Aire Easy Start to my 3 ton ac unit and the LRA dropped from 77 to 23 amps and is running just fine. Also using two Delta Pro's.
Soft start or hard start makes a huge difference.
Greeting from South Florida. Andrew would it be possible for you to talk about in a video comparing the Generac generator vs the Eco model simular to yours for emergency outages especially hurricanes? Keep the videos coming they are great.
Possibly! I have hit on the subject before with smaller models. There are benefits to both no doubt.
Impressive!!!! 👍
I think so too!
Awesome. :)
Some thing i'd like to see with a next gen as I'd like to have a pannel powered by these only
•an overried to allow AC charging while in 240v mode so i can have a grid pannel that is powering the batteries, and a battery pannel powered by the batteries(IIRC it there is a hardware issue with allowing AC charging while in 240v mode, i understand why, but allow it to be disabled)
•○This would allow you to have non-critical circuits on grid only, and critical circiuts on battery backup with their own pannels
•Prefer solar in all modes(only use AC when solar is not enough but allow use of both at the same time)
•○Rainy day mode that keeps the batteries charged to your preferred maximum from AC but still prefers solar if available for charging and load.
•○Optimized savings mode that doesnt use AC until the battery drops to 30% or whatever % you set
•add-on batteries with their own 500w+500w MPPT such a great value add to the external batteries
•Personal preference but no ports on the sides maybe move the 2 battery ports to the front, and add a 3rd one to the rear for their smart propane generator
•It almost certainly works, but allow 2 of those propane generators to work in 240v mode.
i think i fell in love❤! that is awsome!
oh man only if you had two more of those!
It is pretty cool!
@@TKCL if they wasnt so spendy that would be a awsome sight to see a bank of them to run the whole property!
you said something about soft start in an extension cord! you caught my attention!
I've been working with a company for a few months on some, as soon as it's programmed for my needs I am making a video on them.
@@TKCL oh that dont help me now lol ! im looking at a soft start for my portable ac!
Shoot me a message on what size AC and what your powering it with. They already have soft starts on the market.
You should get a water tower, above a grade or above your home, like 20 ft on a hill or slope, to gravity feed will be good for emergency or regular use
Thanx
What kind of solar are you running. Would love to watch a video (or several videos) of your solar system. I am completely clueless on what I would need for a house and shop/garage. I really appreciate all the information you give to your viewers.

I saw a meme last year that someone was selling a solar powered clothes dryer and they would receive a clothes line. Sometimes we just need to go back to basics and not reinvent the wheel.
Lol I agree with that, but I sure hate stiff clothes off a line. In an outage, it will work just fine.
Only 10 easy payments of $19.99 🤣😂😅
Hey!! Stumbled across your videos. Great Content! I also am in Florida. I was wondering if you would consider putting an Oscilloscope on the 240 output. I would be curious to see how clean or dirty the 60 Hz power would be.
All I have is a very cheap oscilloscope, not sure how much I trust it I can put it on there.
I have 4ton unit, no soft start. the document says it pulls 125amps to start. Looking forward to the video using those unit to run your shop. Getting ready to build a barn/workshop. wondering if I can get away with running dual zone mini split with 2 of those.
Mini split would be no issue. Your amperage sounds extremely high, it should be a fraction of that. Soft start or hard start is worth it.
Since you have both I'd love to hear you opinions on the Bluetti vs Ecoflow solutions.
I'd need the Bluetti AC300 for a fair comparison, never tested it.
We need more people like you. I like to hear people's ideas. I am considering a solar aray on my house, and I hope that the price of those devices comes down dramatically. I have thought about having at least 1 in every room of my house, just to run the essentials in an emergency and as time goes by, have one at each outlet so that there is more power, longer lasting. I am also kind of waiting to see if there are any fires that occur and how they're extinguished, hoping that no one has to experience that unexpectedly or unwillingly.
The idea is to have all solar panels on the roof, and to keep those things charged with solar power. Be independent of the Nazi electric company that is really screwing me over. Either that or be cooked to death in my own home. It's like Hansel and Greta around here with the heatwave. I'll look forward to seeing a video about your solar projects if you video and post them. I'll subscribe to your channel. I don't use the bell or my inbox is inundated...
Thank you for watching, a lot of videos on the channel.
Great video Mr Kelly. just got my first pro unit with a duel fuel generater and solar panels strictly for power outages. Checking out videos to see what other people are doing. May expand later. By the way, on what occasion will you be opening that 1 gallon can of green beans?
Lol beans are gone. Just got extra batteries and considering the dual fuel generator myself. I love the technology!
All makes sense for emergency back up with the supporting solar charging. Expensive though...🙂I would think that when making a solar system, that the portable batteries/inverters are not the best choice. Wall mounted inverters/chargers and battery rack would make more sense. The portability of these batteries I think are intended for short outages, lower loads and things like RV and cabin use and camping.
Absolutely that's the best choice for "home" backup. But these are for people wanting portability and plug and play.
Perfect video! From Guam and we just went through a huge typhoon. Looking at getting this video and just like FL our main concern because of the heat is how to keep the AC on. So how long did the AC last with everything else powered on in the house?
I did not run a long term AC test. It's going to vary wildly from house to house. It depends on your size AC, and how well insulated your house is. I'd only run the AC for a short time on battery units, unless you have a lot of solar panels.
Really appreciate the great, honest review. Am researching a similar setup and reached out to Ecoflow about running 240 with solar (for continuous power like your shop). They didn’t recommend it. Any thoughts?
Odd they didn't recommend it, however those units are probably not designed for 24/7 365 applications. They are about to launch a new unit called the Delta pro ultra. It's much more capable and robust in many ways, I just got one I'll be testing and releasing a video on for the launch in January. You might want to check that one out. If your looking for an even bigger system to run off grid 24/7, big on wall inverters might be worth looking at also.
These represent a good starting point for those who have no idea about solar. However, for roughly the same money, one could build a system that provides 4 times the power. 16 prismatic lithium batteries, bms, charge controller and inverter will outperform the 2 ecoflows. And the cost is similar. With either you will need a source of charge power (solar panels, grid power, etc). I built one myself. The prismatic lithium batteries each have 3.2 volt, so 16 have over 48 volts ran in series. I used a Jbm bms, a victron 35/150 charge controller and a 6000 watt Sigineer inverter (that is capable of back charging off the grid without solar panel). Like you said, by being smart and using only what you need during an outage this unit will power my electric hot water heater, electric range, lights, mini split heat pump, computers, etc without issue. We do have frequent outages here so this was designed and built with my needs in mind during an outage. We had intermittent grid power for 8 days two years back, here in Texas. I wanted something to provide power during the off cycles. They would give us about 8 hours every 24 hours during the 8 days. So this system was designed to charge (without solar panels) the battery bank. It was designed to provide power for 12-15 hours without adding any power, longer by being smart.
I agree and thus the reason I'm building my own system on the channel. But there are many out there who desire plug and play. This is one of the best portable, plug and play systems.
Awesome 240v setup. Would have been nice if they would have had those 240 links when I bought my gas generator. Probably would’ve went non gas
It is a sweet setup!
Andrew you sound like us Tennessee folks, " I done did". Lol. I just acquired 400 AH of batteries today. Already have 12 volt and 24 volt inverter/chargers. Just need a MPTT / charger. Planning on maybe 400-800 watts of panels. Just want to try building a system for freezers off grid.
Lol I speak southern! You sound like you are on the right path!
Go with a propane deep freezer if you really want reliability and off grid independence, $1,500 eBay!
Cool stuff. I tried to start my 3 ton AC with my 6KW gen and it didn't like it. soft start might do the job. Don't really need AC that bad for a short outage though. My well is the biggest load I really need for an outage. I'm tempted to install one of those mini splits in my master bedroom just to help lower my power bill. I bet one of those would run a lot longer on the power stations.
Wait for my soft starter episode, you might be able to run your setup as is without investing in a mini split. But the mini split will definitely consume less power. Just depends on if you need to cool multiple bedrooms or the rest of the hiuse.
6kw running or peak power?
@@TKCL Running. think it's 7200 max
That's going to be pushing it, but I think it's only the surge getting you, not the running watts.
Great review. You touched on your 240v well pump has some type of soft start to help with the starting amp surge. Is this within the actual pump or added topside near your pressure tank or did you add an active control type device?
It's a hard wired capicitor at the pump wiring control box. The house AC has a processor controlled soft starter like Active controls wired in before the compressor on the outside. Both reduce the inrush current on start up.
These things are great units especially with a solar setup but as mentioned in the video they are very expensive compared to a traditional natural gas/propane generator that offers more power for the money. 2 Ecoflow Delta Pro's together can output 7200 watts max while impressive this is far less then what something like a Generac 22kw or Kohler 20kw generator will get you for way less money. Also once you add the solar panels and everything else you could be looking at a cost of $15,000 to $30,000 depending on your needs and this is well above the cost of a traditional gas/propane generator. There are some major benefits with going all electric for one it's a lot quieter! then a gas generator and it requires almost zero maintenance. Don't get me wrong this is the future and it's only going to get cheaper as this tech matures but for right now the cost of a full Solar setup is really out of reach for most people unfortunately.
the only use i would have for it is to charge my car while parked at work but i think it will work
Another great video. One question. Do you have 2 inlet boxes hooked up?(one inside and one outside)...I saw a person who did this with both inlet boxes wired into what they call a Frankenstein switch which was wired into the interlock panel. ty
I do now have two boxes. I need to wire in a two position switch to go between both. At the moment I just connect one or the other to the generator breaker as needed.
By the way I just swapped this system out for the newer Ecoflow ULTRA. 240V in a single unit and more compact. ruclips.net/video/eV4UGiU0u90/видео.html
LRA, lock rotator amps, is what you're looking for when starting a heat pump. The hard start capacitor is what drops the LRA and allows you to spin up the compressor. I have a 3 ton heat pump and the LRA is 74. With a hard start capacitor it drops to less than 30 amps and the Gen will start it no problem.. Most any Gen will run it after the initial spin up.
It's hard to understand and explain lol, I just know it works!
@@TKCL I saw towards end of video you know what you're talking, about, always do, and the next video woukd explain it. I commented before it was over. 😂
Pretty cool those portable power stations can run the power hungry appliances/tools for a short period of time. 3 hours of a/c usage isn't very practical for long term outages, but amazing it can even run the a/c.
It is if you are feeding it a solar supply and it only takes about 20 minutes of running my AC to cool my house down. I could do that a couple of times a day to keep it comfortable.
@@TKCL That's awesome for you👍
Yes it is, I know others with older homes would have to run a AC much longer to make a impact.
@@TKCL Yup. I'm one of em, lol
Hi Kelley, I have a question for you : seem like you installed 2 Power Inlet : one is outdoor and one is indoor , is that correct ? That means you can use either outdoor one for gas generator or indoor one for Delta Pro (but not both at the same time) , is that correct ?
Wow that's awesome!!! How much does one of them equal flow cost? That you are testing?
One is around 3500-3700. A package deal for two with all cables is in the high $6k range.
oops i just left a comment on the 1st video asking about the air conditioning... so i would need 2 of these units if i wanted to run that. got it.
Correct if it's a 240v central AC. One of these and a few cheap window AC units is a great choice.
@@TKCL that's so smart! Thank you!
What if I just want it to power my central AC? Can I just plug it in and have my solar charge it at the same time?
There are further efficiency gains to be had with your home. You should check out ventless dryers. They use a heatpump system to dry the clothes instead of resistive heaters. They draw less power too but the primary advantage is that they don't exhaust the conditioned air from inside the home. With a home as tight as yours, you could sure benefit from one.
I'm considering going propane and eliminating the electricity usage all together.
@@TKCL If you're getting solar, why switch to gas? Gas prices fluctuate as well, but with solar you are self sufficient as long as you have the battery storage.
@@dylanschademan3445 Not only do gas prices fluctuate but may disappear all together (if some have their way)🤷♀
I got a huge tank and can buy in bulk for big savings. Gas cuts back on the need for electricity, I already have many gas appliances and I now have a tank big enough to run for a few years (without the dryer). I don't personally believe propane is going away.
@@TKCL Like you, I can't see propane going away anytime soon, BUT, lately there has been a lot of things going on that I never thought I would see happen. Pay attention to the World Economic Forum to see what is in store for us if things don't drastically change in the US.
Great video with real life challenging tests. Are you using the solar panels to recharge those units in an multiple day outage?
Not now, but that's coming soon. I've been recharging them via a generator when needed. I just added extra batteries for longer run time. Used these a lot during hurricane Idalia.
@@TKCL I am outside of Houston and I need to run AC when we lose power in the summer so your test was good.
Feel free to email me at kelleyscountry@gmail.com with any specific questions you may have.
Hi Andrew
Are you familiar with the large solar systems that many people are putting on there roofs? Many of them do not have battery back ups? Can the EcoFlow connect to the solar panels for charging them? Its terrible when people invest that much money and then have no battery back up at all when the power goes down without having to pay another $25,000 or more to get the battery back up for those solar set ups.
Yes these can take 1600 watts of solar each. I made a special video on those net metering solar systems. In most cases they are a rip off.
Can I run a 50 amp RV trailer with two of those? And how much solar panels would I need to charge 2 of those?
You can with an adapter, but if you have two powerful AC units you might have to be careful what all you run at the same time. As for panels, a couple of portable 400 watt panels is all I would feel like lugging around. They can take a lot more panels than that. It really depends on what all you are running and how much power you use. Campers are not very efficient and usually use a lot of power. Mainly the AC units.
So your telling me if these 2 generator are in my room aka deer stand I can run a AC window unit and a space heater, a TV and more 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ok I'm sold lol 👍🏽👍🏽
And that's not all! 🤣
@@TKCL good morning LoL
Good morning!
Andrew, do you think 1 EcoFlow would provide enough to start a 1 HP well pump? We lose power and we can not even flush. Looking for a simple fix for that. Probably would have the well required to be pluggable instead of hardwired and plug directly into the EcoFlow. Given how short the pumps run to refill the pressure tank, I figure there is enough battery power for days of the well pump only, right?
The big question is your well pumped 240 volts or 120 volts? This unit has plenty of power and capacity to start a 1 horsepower 120 volt well pump many times. You have to have two units in order to get 240 volts.
have you thought about building a small water tower to use gravity to feed the house?
No need, multiple backup sources of water AND power. I could 4ig something up quickly as you mention though.
They accept up to 150VDC @ 15Amps of solar/wind, 2,250 watts each. I would probably go live in my RV before trying to run a 3-1/2 Ton A/C. Don't worry laundry, nobody is doing me either😂 Thanks, a Delta Pro owner myself😎
I currently have 1200 watts of solar and I'm about to double that to 2400.
@@TKCL that's great! I use about 25Kwh/Day, my system is only big enough for emergency use.
I average 18kwh and can easily cut that way down with a few appliance changes, mainly the dryer.
Do you know how long these units may last? Your review of these units was good. 👍
Quality lithium batteries claim a 10 year or more life cycle with up to 80 percent capacity remaining, depends on use, depletion rates and charging habits. Typically 3500-6000 charges isn't uncommon, far more than most anyone will charge these. I would love to see a model with a replacement battery.
@TKCL replacement battery would be an added feature if they could do that too. I live in south Louisiana so looking for something now to use or different options thanks
@@paulhuval feel free to keep asking questions and let me know what all you plan to run and how long. I've tested a lot of stuff.
@TKCL ok I will do that thanks
I have the same set up but I just can't understand how when running your pump and the dryer how the powr is balanced between the two unites. Mine does not do this. Each unit takes one leg of the panel regardless of whats on that leg.
?? That's what they are supposed to do cover each side of the panel. Anything 240v like a dryer and my well pump uses both legs evenly distributing the load across both units.
Do you not have the 240v hub that split phases? Or you must have a 120v well pump?
2 extra batteries each you are set with some solar panels or generator will keep you really good. these things should keep you good on lowering your electric bill too.
I did add one battery each, but just recently upgraded to their ultra models. It's far more capable in every way and can be used to run a off grid home and lower electric bills.
Here is my new system ruclips.net/video/eV4UGiU0u90/видео.html
Will these system work for my 800 ft deep well pump?
No idea, I'd have to see the power requirements for the pump.
What brand of AC did you have installed?
A basic split unit package by Ruud.
I have a very serious question for you Andrew. When are you going to eat that giant can of Italian green beans!?!😂
🤣 Wow that's been a popular topic!
How do you charge the units? Using the hub?
Solar panels at my shop or wall out/generator.
Andrew, if I may ask what is the minimum amount for your shop meter & house meters? Here it's $75/month for each.even if you don't use any power.
FPL charges $30 if you don't use any power or if your solar covers all your usage.
At least $30 for a "facility fee"
Great Video Andrew! New sub here! I have this setup along with portable solar panels and an Ecoflow dual smart generator. I live in a big city so our power outages average about 3 hours and this setup is perfect for that. I was interested to see you run your AC unit. We have a 5 ton Lennox unit and I'm looking for a soft start kit so that I'm able to run the AC during a power outage this summer. Any suggestions from anyone?
Yes active controls sells a hardwire 40 amp soft starter you could put on the ac. They are also coming out with a 50 amp version on a cord and you could adapt it to run right out of the Dual voltage hub.
I am currently testing their 20 and 30 amp version on a cord, both are for 120 volts though.
@@TKCL Thanks for the info, but I want to run it through my transfer switch not plugged directly into the Dual Voltage Hub.
I'm lost... If you plug it into your dual voltage hub and then connect your generator cord on the opposite side of the soft starter all power then heads to your transfer switch. So anything that pulls major surge from the transfer switch is now getting a boost from the soft starter. Including your AC if it's attached to your transfer switch. Other option is a hard wired soft starter as I mentioned above, it connects directly to the AC unit outside at the compressor.
So you can run your home a/c and stuff for about 2-3 hours?
With the compressor engaged yes, in an emergency situation I won't be doing that. We might occasionally bump the air on and cut it off. I'm more concerned with running the well pump, getting a shower, charging phones, running fans ect.
Do you think this can take a 2700 sqft house off grid that has 2 of everything like a/c, furnace, hot water heaters and cooktop using 6 400 watt solar panels and 2 Ecoflow delta Pro and 2 smart batteries?
Realistically no. Especially if those water heaters are electric, you're going to need a much larger and more powerful system to go off grid. Now this would work for backup power in the event of an emergency. You're just going to have to run one major device at a time.
@@TKCL yes the hot water heaters are electric. I was thinking I can use the Ecoflow system to power my home in the daytime and switch back to the grid at night. Thank you for the responses.
You'll need to do a bunch of calculations on your daytime equipment, especially the AC unit. Keep in mind 30 amps max is what two can provide.
4 EcoFlow delta pro extra smart battery test it out
I hope to one day. That would allow me to run a long time before needing to charge.
@The Kelley's Country Life you have propane - just get the dual fuel generators and line you can run maybe? I went with 2x Pros 240V hub for my backup but can't recharge with my solar. I'm going to just hold out 2 years and go ac coupled Home battery auto switchover
Great video what if you switched to a gas dryer would that lessen the power draw for that device? Also would love to hear more about the soft start. Thanks Phillip
Gas dryer will be on my purchase list if the world gets any crazier, it would make a huge impact on our electricity usage.
@@TKCL Couple years ago I planned on converting to gas appliances. Now that they are trying to outlaw gas stoves, I think keeping electric appliances is the way of the future. Beefing up the solar system is the best money spent, at least in my mind🤔🤔
Problem is a simple electric stove, dryer and more requires a huge increase in the production and cost of your solar system. Those are energy hogs! If it gets bad enough I'll go back to a clothes line. 😉
@@TKCL I hear ya!
Please send me we’re you got soft start
I paid my HVAC company to install it.
I would hate to have to rely on solar panels to recharge the batteries. The power outage could come with rain, snow, clouds, or long winter nights, which could make solar rather questionable.
That's why you have a back source to charge. That could be the grid or a generator. I've been running my shop off grid for weeks, there's been no rain or clouds. Sometimes you get a long run.
What kind of well tank is that
Just a standard galvanized 80 gallon tank. Quite normal here, most don't use the small bladder tanks.
@@TKCL so if it doesn’t have a bladder how dose if keep pressure to push it to the house quite interested now have to replace my whole system could you do a review on it to show how it works
Upper 40 percent of the tank is air, see air bleeder below the gauge. It works off of a standard 30-50 psi pressure switch.
@@TKCL Gotach thanks keep up the good work

You do realize that's legally required if you received ANYTHING of value. Does not mean I was paid cash money. You can let it bother you or respect the fact that I actually clicked that button, although many don't.
I had to buy my two Ecoflow pro generators to try this and Ecoflow sends this goofball one for free. 😢
Maybe you should spend years making almost a thousand videos, spend thousands on recording and editing equipment. Then spend another couple of years doing all this for free while you grow a social media business. This goofball has paid his dues and earned it, I promise you.
