In 2010 I was a hardcore emo kid. One night I saw an ad for RJD2 on Limewire and looked him up on RUclips. This was the video I saw. I stayed up until 3am watching videos and listening to his music. No joke by the end of the week, all the emo music was cleared off my MP3 player.
RJD2 is iconic underground soul and hip hop
I would appreciate a HD version of it!
What's with your profile pic
We've been waiting for it for so long. Release it you cowards!
Wouldn't we all... let the man dance he is obviously HAPPY AS FUCK.. it's ok I'm French 😂
google is AMAZING. i saw this video 10 years ago, forgot the artist could only remember the melody. i googled "crutches guy city video" and this was the first result.
THE FUTURE IS NOW.
This is so dope, right... I haven’t seen this in nearly a decade...
That’s the collective conscious
"Bill Shannon (1970) is an American artist who resides in Brooklyn.[1] Shannon holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.[2] Born with a degenerative hip condition[3], he developed a way to express himself through dance and skateboarding on crutches." straight from wiki, it has good references and everything!! its odd i know but true
I've been on crutches for a week and I have been working a hard labor job that requires a ton of upper body strength for 6 years and this shit is HARD! I can't begin to imagine how endurance this guy has.
Wow! This guy is SMOOTH! He's like Jamiroquai on crutches. And is amazes me that so much appears to be done in ONE long shot...
He's like *Jay Kay* on crutches. Jamiroquai is the band name. :)
@@drumstick74 Whoops - thanks! :-)

No problem 🙂
I found RJD2 on the forecast skateboarding video with Paul Rodriguez this whole skate video change my life forever and my love for music grew because of the amazing songs in this video. Blessed 🙏🏽
What a classic. RJD2 was a blessing for my adolescent depressive episodes and now I can be all nostalgic about it. Rad
i fell in love with this song while working at macy's. this song was on the soundtrack in the juniors dept...and when i heard it i wouldn't leave the dept until it was over. great song!
I adore Bill Shannon's work, he won't let you down :)
I've watched this like a thousand times.. Nothing else quite represents such a great philosophy of life. Whatever you are, own it. Reform it, make it fantastic. But you have to own it all.
This video deserves a remastered reupload, such nostolgic vibes right here.
Bill Shannon brings class like Don Lockwood from singing in the rain, but adds a modern twist to match this song really well.
RJD2 is brilliant. One of the best producers of all time. Video works so good with the track. One of my favorite videos. When i see a piece of work like that i'm concerned that there are stil people who know how to behave themselves, how to live and how to make music.
Much love to RJD2 and all Defjux
Incredibly beautiful
Just the dopest music video ever! Bill Shannon and RJD2 together...ain't nothin' smoother.
He's so incredibly smooth it looks like he doesn't even need the crutches.
Bill shannon has the sickest glides @ 2:27 onward... love this video.. love rjd2..
This song still invades my mind from time to time. That is a good thing. HOW does this magic only have 457k views!? I've always thought this video was genius.
amf18 if they released an higher quality version it would probably go over well.
I think people with physical disabilities would come after this video, And rightly so. I mean come on, a dancer who doesn't Even use the crutches to support his weight dancing with crutches? Really? Now give me someone who actually dances on crutches while not using both legs, THAT would be DOPE AF
@@timofreeman4574 "Bill’s contributions to dance include a very specific movement vocabulary evolved through his creative use of crutches as a child after the discovery of a physical disability that effected his ability to bear weight in his hips. Bill’s subsequent immersion in the emergent youth cultures of hip-hop and skateboarding further contributed to his autodidactic form on crutches"
I wore out my wax records of this album.. smoke and mirrors dead ringer .. everything
CRUTCH IS DOPE! LOVE HOW RJD2 made the smooth transition to MAKIN beats to making lyrics composing and Bringin it all together
That is pretty sick, i love how smooth his movesare...like hes gliding.

Bill Shannon; is an American artist who resides in Brooklyn. Shannon holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.Born with a degenerative hip condition, he developed a way to express himself through dance and skateboarding. (With Crutches Too.)
wow love this video
Respect
coming back...
This was filmed in downtown Brooklyn, across the street from my office, 32 Court St, on the grounds of Brooklyn's City Hall.
THIS IS MUSIC
I don't think he's mocking anyone's disability here. I think this guy found out that he's really good with crutches. He rocks it out. He displays strength, flexibility, an dexterity. Put that together with some RJD2, and you have a winning combination.
All I can say is that is so totally COOL
DOPE!
werri god

If you haven’t seen RJD2 live , are you even living ?
Your boy Dez you’re officially a close friend. Who and how the heck are you!
nice wall ride
hah if that ain't one of my favourite music videos of all times!
ILL!
2.24 freez is nasty like u said but that spin at 2.39 - holy crap!
Man. I thought I moved around my apartment all cool... damn it
The only reason why someone would dislike this video is b/c they:
1. found some crutches.
2. hurt themselves on said crutches.
3. are now watching this video again,
4. and still can't 'Work it Out'
from what i know
the man in this video has arthritis and needs those crutches to walk without hurting himself
but he loves to dance so he learned to dance with them
Yes in his hips.
Wow! Literally wow
it cool how it one continus shot
cool
oh man, I've been in that area so many times, right in Brooklyn Heights. It's sick to see it like this in a video.
ああ、本当、最高だよ。
