Stanley's products may be expensive but they are damn well good.
I'm a Stanley employee and I approved of this message. Nice review, Doc!
My entire camp cooking kit is Stanley. Love their stuff, and I really love the coffee this kit makes.
I bought this kit and I love it, I use it in the the morning before going to work when I don't need a whole pot. Two thumbs up.
Thanks for the info. It helped me out. Instead of buying the set, I bought the filter alone and paired it with the Stanley Adventure beer stein. Works great. I appreciate it.
How can you make good coffee when you start with Folgers? 😆
Great for car camping. The only camping drip system that I would buy.
A pour over will even make Folgers taste good
I've always love Stanley products. Always love your videos
Did anyone else almost have a heart attack with the amount of creamer he used? Lol!
No. I use it a lot as well...😂
Nope, yum! Lol😊
He ruined a perfect coffee by adding to much sugar and cream
@@DirtyFrenchmanGarage hell no. Coffee is delicious with a lot of cream and sweetner ... 😂
Yes. They're not really coffee drinkers.
If I drank coffee, this is what I would use. Looks easy and intuitive. Another great video, as long as water gets boiled, I will watch!
I have the Stanley 48oz french press and love it. I'll have to look for this set now
I just bought a Woodknot 900ml titanium French press and now doubles as my UL cook kit.. "and I'm loving every minute of it" 🤣✌💚
I bought this and I love this product! Makes Great coffee. Easy to clean. The mug keeps the coffee hot for a long time. The cup is light and sturdy. I got this same cup for my mom who had a stroke. Light yet sturdy, great lid to keep her from spilling hot liquid.
i really appreciated your way of describing the product.. thank you..i have been eyeing this as well and the way you addressed each feature tells me what i need to know to make a purchase.
Hey keep up the good work sir. I always appreciate all your videos and opinions
I’m from Mountain Home! Glad you’re enjoying the area. Loving the content!
Please don't stop making videos Doctor...I learn something every time I watch your video's...

Like the Stanley Adventure cook kit. Bullet proof!
I have a Stanley French Press Thermos. I like the quality of their products...
I can't think of a single reason this is superior to my Sea to Summit Silicon X-Brew pour over dripper...
The S2S is lighter, it accordians flat making it easier to store, it costs less, it's easier to clean...
This is one of the times that rather than look into the product market space and say, "We here at Stanley can build a better product," they instead said, "someone is going to buy it for the looks and the name."
And I have no doubt that is accurate.
I’m a cowboy coffee person when I’m in the backwoods but Stanley makes some good stuff.
Nuttin like Cowboy coffee early in the morning!
I got just the filter. For in our camper we love it!
I love my pour over set I usually take
Kona coffee course ground coffee boil
It just like cowboy coffee then After it
Turns black brown and red color I pour
It through my filter and man that makes
The best camp ☕ coffee
Cool set
What got my attention was the Norwegian Camp Kettle!
Like you, I’m a sucker for that green hammered paint finish. I went with the Stanley press pot instead, since there are two of us. I think where this system might shine is at home or base/car/RV camping for one person.
Great products from this company
Een looking at this. Seems like a nice set up. Stanley is well worth the price
Great review
Great job DOC thank you fer all you do. Have a great TIME OUT THEIR WIT family. See ya on the next one.🌈🌈🌈🌈🦄🦄🦄🦄
Tnks for all the info
Thanks for sharing 👍
Nice video doc! Question, would the filter work on top of a Stanley insolated bottle? They are great for making a nice big pot of coffee and keeping it hot all day. Could you use this to brew right into the bottle?
think we're gonna have to buy a couple
the wide slot in this as in many others is designed to drink just slightly off center, plenty of flow. Try it,
no need to drill
I have the pour over sets and thermos's..plus wide mouth food thermos..love the green....I messed up and bought the pour over....then weeks later got the cup...duh!! LOL!!!! But actually USE my tiny black GSI pour over filter
Folgers? I thought y'all only drank Community Coffee over there in "Looosiana"! Just kidding, but I actually love Community Coffee. I was introduced to it by some friends of mine from New Orleans, and that's all I drink now. Great video, thanks.
You should try black rifle coffee.
the weakspot is the filter holder made in plastic...that will be in constant hold cold state
I can see this to be effective with Materia Medica, for making infusions and teas, as well as the intended purpose.
nice vintage Rolex ;-)
I would love for you to learn how to use a finjan
The traditional middle eastern coffee pot
Everyone has a coffee set in their car for picnics, camping and backpacking
It has its own method to make coffee
Well-worth the exploration
WHIPPING CREAM!
Do you drink tea? Would this be a good loose tea brewing system or would the water flow through too quickly?
I've navigated away from non-paper filter coffee preparation since I don't like to clean grinds out of anything. I use a cloth filter occasionally at home, but it is so tedious and wasteful of water, IMO. Different strokes!
I cut the handle off the cup and filed it smooth so now the cup fits inside the “pour over” part.
Was thinking the same why they didn fit together, it takes up space in a backpack.
i have bought this and i have one question, there is a small gap under the filter(where little bump exists, just at one side) which i think ruins the coffee brew process, is that normal ?
Thank u
This looks great I simply cannot cope with putting heavy cream in one's coffee! Yowzers! Obviously this is simply my less than humble opinion but thats just TOO thick for my taste. Thanks for another great video!
Some of us use heavy cream to avoid the lactose/ sugar in half&half or regular milk, but especially in low fat or nonfat milk. Good, hot coffee will “melt” heavy cream & you don’t need to pour in as much.
Good presentation. I like Stanley and have a few of their products. I don’t believe this will be one I purchase.
Please tell me how to make it flow faster, I have coffee grounded with extra fine (no. 9) in starbucks. It flow to slow, then change to ground with course press (no. 15), it is still too slow.
out of the loop question: would you ever review a solar kettle?
Can you use paper filter instead? The one with cone shape?
Great tip about drilling a vent hole in the cup lid, I have noticed that it tends not to want to pour due to the vacuum.
This is an old video. I like to make cowboy coffee when at the cabin. I use the filter part to pour the cowboy coffee through into a mug and it works great for that. Yes, I use course grinds.
How do you know how much water to pour in without overflowing the mud
Five tablespoons of coffee for 2? cups! Talk about a needs for caffeine. I got a GSI Coffee Missile for about a half of that $35 - does a good cup (dark roast). Re: hammered green for hiking Interior Designers - does it pass the "So What?" test?
Looks nice, but I think I’ll stay with my v60 and paper filters
Thank you for your review.. looks like the cup won’t hold coffee hot too long with the drink hole in the lid. 😮
Good video. Maybe set will be better if mug going to inside of the coffee"maker". Now coffee set takes too much space if put in to backpack.
An now I have to have one but I use hills bro coffee
Nice kit Doc, but I think I'll stick with the 50 oz pore over you reviewed a few weeks ago. That's a nice set for my RV, thanks.
I'm a huge fan of the All in one Boiln Brew, with the stainless cup/pot. It's much more versatile than this system in my opinion
How do you know it's good quality coffee with all that stuff in it
It's not, hence the stuff in it
For good coffee you really need to weigh the coffee and measure the water out exactly as per James Hoffman. It really does make a difference and you get it right every single time.
If you said that a year ago I might have scoffed. But it really does make a difference lol
And NOT use Folgers 😂
@Mark Ashlock,
You are so right. I buy coffee beans from my local roaster. It is $18/pound. Some varieties are more expensive. When someone says that's too much, that tells me all I need to know about their taste in coffee. Everybody who has had my coffee loves it...
@bunkyman8097 lookatchew, a real coffee snob. Betcha you momma so proud.
I prefer a French press. It makes better coffee. The pot of a press can have other uses. Stanley Adventure French Press Coffee Maker - 32oz works vey well.
How did you even taste coffee in there?
Works like a Brita water filter. But for coffee.
I had the pour over kit..mug and filter. My son THREW MY FILTER AWAY....cause he said i "didnt need that crap"
They have it at Lowe's for $19
Boil water in pan, add coffee, grounds will sink to bottom. Pour into cup and enjoy!
Want some coffee with your cream? 😆
JMHO but this looks like a pain in the neck to clean. I don't understand why they didn't go with just a traditional v60 to where all you really need to do is take the filter out and throw in the trash versus making it two parts. That just looks like extra work to me.
you forgot to say ”Thanks for watching” in the beginning!
Probably be better if we see you make coffee in a stanley thermos
Whipping Cream. That's interesting.
Pour over coffee is about my 6th choice for coffee, but a good option for the 6th coffee method choice.
Community Dark Roast. Red label. Still one pound.
add some coffee to that milk
From Louisiana? And not drinking community?
It’s a shame it’s made in China, I truly wish our companies would bring production home.
I was going to purchase one of those but I decided not to because I don't like my coffee touching plastic and I see that the part that screws the filter in is plastic and the coffee does come in contact with it. Instead, I rigged up my own version and I'm very happy with it. It's completely stainless steel and makes the best coffee I've ever tasted. Of course you have to have decent coffee to start with. The coffee maker is not the only thing involved in making good coffee.
Ahh you live way up North , that why you talk funny 😉
Aeropress would be better for backpacking imo
I would start with a much better coffee to begin with.
Hi Ernie,
Cause a good health is important to us both I wondered if you know if this filter, filters the "cafestol" out of your ☕️. This cafestol is the main reason why unfiltered coffee is so unhealthy, like espresso of coffee brewed with a so called "cafe press". Keep up the good work 💪👍
I’ve really been enjoying your videos, but Folgers, sugar and milk? How can you tell if the system even works well! Lol
So here is what happened....all I had on hand was an espresso ground coffee that is like powder, and would clog this thing up pretty easily...so, I went with what the VRBO had in the kitchen. What can I say! As for the cream and coconut sugar...it's what I enjoy....and quite frankly necessary when using Foldgers :)
@@PaleoHikerMD Fair enough!
This is me ending the video at 2 minutes 9 seconds
OMG Folgers, not a proper test!
3:12😬
Cup would be much better no handle..it would fit upside down in filter...easy packing
Good point, or perhaps a folding butterfly handle that would still allow nesting
But handle or no I love my STANLEY CUP
I am not sure how you taste the coffee with all that milk and sugar.
Ernie.....you let me down....Really Folgers?? man... no wonder you had to add what you added to it....
MSR is cheaper, lighter, and does as good a job.
Right you are BUTT the Stanley is bulletproof if that is what's desired!!(=✌💚
@@Canadian_Craftsman true but we don't usually shoot our coffee mugs in Canada! 🙂
@@jamespaul2587 really? Weird. 😝
Top of mug smelled like plastic even after washing...coffee was terribly tasteless
What?.??. No community? ;)
Sorry... bought one and really hate it. 1) Filter. By not using paper filter grounds muck up in the bottom and becomes hard to get rid of. Really hard. 2) Can't see without lifting up how much water to pour over. 3) Back to the filter... it's horrible. Period.
It might look good but I'm not impressed with the quality of coffee it makes.
?? "Pour over". Not understanding.
Where is your Aeropress?
Cuz, you really should have an Aeropress.
I mean, I *guess* that's ok, if you're not really into coffee, but if you like coffee, you deserve and AEROPRESS.
Fines? None with the Aeropress. Cleanup? Pretty simple, fast, and easy with an Aeropress. Variety? But Not much, just regular ("Americano"), espresso-style shots, and you can shoot over ice if you want iced coffee, or on to cold water for just a tall, cool one. You can control how strong or weak your coffee is, without losing flavor, getting bitter results, or acid results.
It comes with 350 reusable paper filters. I'm still working off my original stack, bought in 2005.
If price is no object, for $2 more, you can get the self-storing portable model.
4 ounces of water, and you're cruising with two shots of espresso-style. Only, it will taste better than any espresso you can buy in any coffee shop.
Just saying, yo.
Oh, and an Aeropress will make even Folgers taste good. ;-)
To Big takes up to much space.
LOL "good coffee" as he whips out the Folgers 😂 but thanks for showing me how to use it. The instructions just warned me I could burn myself but didn't give me any useful information.
Sugar and milk in your coffee?! Come on! 😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈
Why are you so weird
thats not coffee!!!!
