I want to thank you for this video!!!! It took us about 12hrs to do our office and then I found your video. OMG our bedroom took us only a couple hours!!! Thank you!!!!!!
Oh my, thats a long time. Glad you figured it out! 💪💪
Great video, thank you. I'm about to install 1,110 sq ft of Timbercraft into our house, your video will help with my project.
Thanks for the video, I wish I found this 2 days ago.
We are installing same Pergo Timber Craft and had a tough time with the planks
Clicking together. Finally got it figured out today.
Glad it helped, did you slap it?!!
The pergo line is 100% waterproof from the top down only. Any water to get underneath will damage the laminate flooring. Hopefully there will be no problems with the flooring placing cabinets on top. Their called floating floors for a reason. Placing heavy immovable objects like cabinets and islands create pinch points causing the floor to potentially buckle
Haven't had any issues with them. Quarter round is hideous so that's definitely a no go 😂
I'm sitting in my office waiting to install my Pergo Defense+ Flooring in my living room but since hubby works nights and is currently asleep, I'll have to wait until he's up. So of course I'm scouring RUclips..lol. Your tip about using a piece of scrap as block is excellent, I've done the same with a previous floor install and it's perfect because you really have virtually zero chance damaging your flooring this way as opposed to the block that you can buy which can chip the edges. My laminate came with attached pad so I'll be using a heavy mil vapor barrier. Great job also mentioning the easiest way to install, the 'slap' method really works (some people will even use a soft mallet and hit the plank in the direction of the previous row. Now that you've had it installed for a couple of years, how is it holding up?
Thanks so much! It has been pretty good, only a few tiny gaps which isn't bad for the whole house. The only decieving thing is the "waterproof" rating for 4 hours... So when your kid doesn't tell you they spilled something then it sits on a joint and swells 🙄
I like the color you chose. I'm going with Valley Grove Oak because I wanted something darker, but this looks really nice.
Thank you so much!
Matt Damon and Janeane Garofalo hooked up??? and apparently are doing floors...
I only came to see how the Pergo underlayment tape tape worked... makes sense now and feel a little dumb....
but I couldn't find any other videos that showed its install...
so thanks.... (I maybe the only lost one, but you should put 3MM underlayment in the title..or details)
That’s so nice but I have never seen a gold under padding… is it like an R rating for cold weather?
Thats what they recommend, they probably just got me because it says Pergo on it lol. But I believe so it's waterproof.
The Pergo Gold is both an underlayment and a moisture barrier. I have it for my basement floor.
Looks good!
Thanks bro!
Thanks for the tips
No problem!
looks good dude... wish I had your skills, I have to hire someone to do this so its doesn't look like a 3yr old did it
Thanks man, anyone can do it. Just go for it.
We are thinking of buying this type of floors but saw a few negative reviews on it. How has it held up with water, scratches and staying in place?
I have it pergo timber craft floor for over a year. I have a dog that slides across the floor and has no scratches on it. It’s a nice project.
How has it help up with the cabinets being on top of the flooring? Did your new cabinets have legs or the standard cabinets with wood edges?
The cabinets were just the wood frame, and there was no issue years after until we sold the house!
I wouldn’t install this floor again, would rather just do a LVP as these aren’t a true waterproof floor.
Nice job
Thanks!
Is it make squeaking noises after installing the underlayment ? I heard if the floor already has an underlayment, then adding additional underlayment make squeaking noises?
I couldn’t tell you, this floor does not have an attached pad. If the floor I was installing had an attached pad ( which I prefer than I wouldn’t install another one.
Do you cut off the lip from your starter piece? Or just install as is?
I would if you’re installing up to the baseboard and using quarter round which is 🤮🤢🤢🤢. But if you’re doing it the right way and placing trim over after than you would generally have that .75” of wiggle room.
What's the paper that you put first on the floor called and where can I get it?
The foam is pergo gold. They sell it at lowes.
@@BreakFreeHomestead Thank you 😊
Come help me do mine. I got some blue moon for you
Why do all the videos pose the plank to measure the cut lol tape measure is way faster. 🤔 what i hate it going outside to use my miter saw.
Haha. Same! I want to cut in the house, but I know it is a bad idea!
It's nice, but NOT waterproof. Had a small leak in my foundation, water got under the floor and warped the plank edges of several planks.
I don't think it is intended to be waterproof from under...
It is supposed to be waterproof on top of the plank.
Flip Flops!!! Stop
Great work but don’t be dumb good grief
@@juicegiudice421 you can't install pop together flooring in flip flops?
