Jeremy McGrath is known for his Supercross skills, but Mammoth motocross holds a special place in the King's heart. Jeremy has been racing Vet weekend at Mammoth for years now, and this time, he brought built a 2004 Kawasaki KX125 two-stroke to race in the Vintage "Smoke and Fire" class, during vet weekend. Of course, he also brought his KX450SR four-stroke and, even though he's 52 years old and could race in the 50+ vet class, he raced down in the 40+ class and won it on both Saturday and Sunday. Impressive! MXA's Dennis Stapleton caught up with the King in this interview from Mammoth.

Still has the sickest setup and gear. Truly badass and a humble legend. MC is truly what moto is about.
He never went against Ronnie Mac
@@realDonaldTrump420That's what I'm sayin. Can't know you're the "King" of sx without going up against Ronnie Mac on a supercross track Jeffrey Herlings is the "Sand King", but Ronnie Mac called Herlings out and then flew to Europe just for the.GP's on sand tracks, and only when Herlings was 100 percent fit (2018 MX1 and 2016 MX2). Herlings wouldn't respond. mxgp organizers, KTM, and governments of the nations with sand tracks that host GP events wouldn't let Ronnie Mac anywhere near the event when it was held. Ronnie Mac decided to race an ama outdoor (round 11) this year, right after round 10 concluded. Honda panicked because they knew it was just to fuck up Jett's perfect season, so they paid the dancers in the strip club Ronnie went to that Friday night just to keep feeding him shots of whiskey and smother him in pu$$y all night long. He was hung over as hell but still showed up in time for a lap to qualify. They knew he would and all he needed was to get to the gate (any gate) for one moto. He felt like shit so he sat out moto 1. He was just gonna line up for moto 2 since that was all he needed to do. The bike Ronnie bought from craigslist in that area for that event got stolen while.hw was waiting for moto 2. He came out of the private motorhome Honda was so nice to provide that day and it was gone. Nobody saw anything, but I heard Lars Lindstrom was seen handing some cash to that hot chick Ronnie had with him in the motorhome. I normally wouldn't have this much time to type all that, but I'm waiting on a flight and ain't got.shit to do but this at the moment.
Digging the Throwback to his Sinisalo jersey and pants by Troy Lee.
Great video. What a shame Kawasaki doesn't make 2-strokes any longer.
Yep, you bet! :(
You missed whole pt of video. You have no idea what a rock star Jeremy McGrath was..& obviously still is. He has CLOUT like no other.
Damn straight
The Big 2 Suzuki is out of the Question and Yamaha still produces (doesn’t do R&D) on two strokes.
Most of the Japanese hates working with 2 strokes and Motorcycles are just a little chunk of their profit margin.
Invest into the Austrians, they still produce and develop two strokes and ONLY Focuses on Motorcycles unlike the Japanese trying to satisfy many markets.
Until that day comes when one of the 3 (Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki) step up, The KTM Group will hold it down for many year until Truimph is head to head with KTM on Sales.
I’m Satisfied with my 2023 TC125 ✊
@@eric6rockdont forget the Italians with Beta. Just bought a 300 race edition a couple weeks ago
Jeremy is still SUPER fast. No doubt. What a treat to see him out there. 👍🏻💯
The king has spoken.
51 and still going so fast and the sickest style! The king never age!
@@RaymondGinn1978who cares.
The uk vets des nations has just finished last week ,it getting bigger every year ,2 strokes only!! 👌 R villipoto,m brown ,European past champs,uk foxhills circuit. Hopefully next year showtime can come over with the American lads. the brit fans would love it ,the riders, the bikes, the colours pure 90s nostalgia 👍
52 years old and smoking 40+A class.....bad ass as always.
MC's role with Kawi is to let the good times roll 🤙🏻
So much respect for Jeremy.
I love the retro graphics. Both my bikes look pretty similar to McGraths. I have 91 graphics on both my 2 stroke 98 and my 22 kx450.
The 1990 to 1992 kx graphics were the epitome of cool, for me. Love it. Bet your bikes look rad
Jeremy well may be riding like this at 70 years old. he has such a zen relationship with gravity. changed the entire sport because of that calm next level speed. he really is the best of all time. RC changed training "because of him" and stewart wouldn't have invented the scrub without what McGrath made possible.
Met Jeremy back in 94, he was a class act and still is.
Always love to watch anytime Jeremy rides or races!
He still ripps for sure!
Excellent video👍👍👍
MC is TBE the best ever!
Awesome to see the King out ripping the track. Super cool guy.
Isnt it just beautiful how pro circuits just sound tbe best?! Nothing sounds better.
Pc is just stupid loud, fmf is tge way to go
My guy still taking corners like he's 20 yrs old. Great to see.
Come on Kawasaki give us a motocross 2stroke 💪💪💪
Be sweet to see a 40 plus class for straight rhythm and get these legends back out there!!!
@@jaysmokey Great positive attitude!
Always my favorite KX shroud logo from the early 90s
I remember watching him race those 125s back in the day but it was for Honda. Can’t believe he is 52 , where the heck did the time go ???
The fun aspect makes us forget about time but yeah Jeremy is still and always has showcased all the best
Really cool to look back in time and have people like Jeremy still having fun in the sport…..
2 stroke of my dreams. Great video and killer riding from McGrath! 😊
THE KING. GOAT. SHOWTIME
GOAT ... Cheers Jeremy for staying strong to moto ...
Mammoth looks like it's a blast to ride. Looks super fun
You can see mcgrath still has it! A true icon!
Mcgrath is 52 and I remember watching him in his prime I was young. I remember the day my dad gave me a old black and white tv put it down in my room and the only channel I got was a Motocross race with him running number 15 and I was hooked!!! I had bikes before that but watching him race I would dream of winning a supercross race everynight before bed.
Legend, humble and all around great human being. Any sport would be blessed to have a personality like Jeremy represent it. Still flat rips and always has the sickest gear and helmet.🏁💯.
Got to see him ride at Anaheim a couple times before he retired, cased a triple passing for the lead and came back to win the race. Truly awesome rider.
MAKES ME WANT A KAWASAKI ! LOVE THE FACT THAT HE STILL LOVES TO RIDE.
Team Green ALWAYS! and the 👑of SX, it just cant get any better, great job and Beautiful bikes MC!
The King will always be my favorite rider of all time. He brings a certain magic when he is on his bikes. Great seeing him.💙
Showtime always killing it!
Great Vid !!! I still rock my 97 CR500!!! Had an 87 CR250 and 87 CR500!!
We used to go ride Mammoth after the race every year. Huge braking bumps!! Loved it!
It's great to see a legend out there riding with the people who filled the stands to watch him at the height of his racing powers.
I remember racing mammoth such a nice track thank you Jeremy for still racing makes my day !!
Really love the 2 stroke's fantastic Mx bikes sounds awesome great videos as always Josh
Love these two strokes.
Jeremy looks so good still and what a treat to hear that baby sing
Absolutely loved this. McGrath rules. So fun to see his attitude and see him still going damn fast.
I have this same bike. Bought it 10 years ago and i spent 4000 in parts and its just sitting waiting to be put together! Cant wait til i have the time to finish it.
It would be cool to see both Jeff Ward and MC racing together on the kx125.
When are they going to do a Legends race!!!???? Would be awesome to have a 40+ Legends race of all past big names.
Excellent video. Thank you. Great to see Jeremy again.
MC is such a sweet dude, actually knowledgeable on his bike, super knowledgeable when it comes to riding and he’s pretty humble, he didn’t even brag he’s over fifty racing in 40a
If the king shall appear, I shall watch!
Way cool my friend I’ve always watched you ride and your skill on a motorbike was inspiring for me thank you
MC was my idol as a little kid & i still look up to him today because he shows no matter how old you become you can still ride motocross for the love of moto! love that he's on a 125 two-smoker lol!
McGrath Kawasaki KX 20o4 awesome guys 👍👏🇬🇧
dude still emotes cool at 52. oye! great interview. good to catch up!
Sleep,Eat, Ride, That's my life,l love riding all my dirt bikes. GREAT RIDING JEREMY, 👍
So awesome seeing JM on the Kawi...brings back tons of memories.. he's the reason I traded my Honda for a Kawi and never have looked back. Love to see Ricky back with Team Green as well. I watched a great interview with Jeremy and his response to MX.... You have to be more than crazy... MX racing is a lot more abuse on the body and its so much faster
Awesome getting to line up with him.
It’s hard for me to see MC on anything other than a Yamaha or Honda.
However he probably has the kx dialed in. Hat’s off to one of the nicest guys me and my sons have met.
Hello fron France, great video, jeremy is just the legend, the monument of sx/mx. Always at the top. So fast.👍
Awesome interview thanks Mc
I remember when i was riding my best fit and training reg but still the old unfit pros would still tear past me it was i eye opener and how much faster they must of been in they pro racing days.
Great interviews by Stapo184👏👏
Professional in every way❤
Looks like he got the old 90’s graphics up on there 👌
You can't beat the sound of a 125 2 stroke wide open.
WOW he looks GREAT still at 51 or 52! Plus he just had a knee replacement in the last year or so,
2mac is Unbelievably Kool,I was there & He GaveLarge Love 2 All his Fans ! Dude is da BOMB🦾💥
Great video Great questions .
It´s so cool to see him ride
Great video. Definitely had a flashback of the video “jeff matiasevich i'm no chicken”!
i cant wait to get my 2007 kx125 back in a week they sound soo good
Showtime on a KX125!! 1989/1990 flashbacks!
Nac nac man still got it. Oooh, just love the sound of them 2 strokes.
I rode mini's from 1973 to 1979,then 2 years under 16 juniors 1980,then regular ACU South Australian MX in 1981 both years on a 79 SuzukiRM125N,then I chose music, got Way into Dirt bikes again and McGrath and Emig were the two celebrities we knew from Daisy Hi-Torque,mostly Dirt Bike magazine as I got back into Dual Sport with a succession of XR600's,and the SX/MX,unfortunately no US GNCC or Baja but outdoor MX on AU Foxtel doing ESPN was great.
Jeremy McGrath and Jeff Emig are fantastic ambassadors for Dirt Bikes and they're 7 years my junior,so it's very cool to see MXA make this. Thank You.Over 16 mx in 1981 I even had Jody Weisel's no.192 allocated to me,and Photography woulda Shoulda been the career I chose.Enough said Hi Jody.
JM working it and has a smile on his face.
He is more legend that i´m ever tought of
Sweet ride
God given talent . Still looks great out there
the king .
sweet bike man. kool to see you on the mx track. kick some ass
Went to ask for a picture with Jeremy at lake Elsinore and ended up bullshitting with him for 20 minutes. He’s talks to you like you’re a buddy sitting around a camp fire. He’s not a robot and he doesn’t come off like he’s trying to save his image. If you didn’t know him you would never know he is THE legend of dirt bikes. You’d think he’s just a cool guy that carries good conversation. Moto is lucky to have a guy like Jeremy as one of their legends
I have that very same bike. I wonder how many of them were built and how many are still around? Most were exported and there only one other guy on this whole isle of Kyushu (west Japan) that has one of the same year.
That track is beautiful
❤❤❤❤
An 04 with 92 graphics on it. Beautiful!!!
Ah great vid! ShowTiiiime!
Loved the 125 jersey...🙂
2 strokes coming back Husqvarna makes an amazing one from 125,250,300
Love the 90s MX graphics
Long live The King!
No Kooler Dude than The King.. TY MC 💪👏✌️😉
JM is such an inspiration
Long Live the King!
In the name of everything that’s holy I would sell my grandmother to see MC race RC on their 125s 😍😍
Dude the same graphics in shroud as my 92' kx. I also just got a Jeremy McGrath bobblehead still in box from 99-2000
JMac was my fav rider back in the day, 1-800-COLLECT
The King 👑 making the 125 sing 🙌🙌🙌
What a guy
If anyone wants pure pc kx 125 sound. I recommend the return of the kx125 video from motocross action magazine.
love the 90 stickers
Fantastic bikes and sound onevof the best 2strokes ever made Aswell as the suzuki rm and yamaha yz
That gear is doing it for me 🤌
Needs to get to the vmxdn at foxhills next year
