Great review! I've owned the early version of the Acton 2 for a couple of years, and it still impresses on sound quality. My version only has aux and Bluetooth connections. I should add that it doubles as a more than capable practice amplifier for my electric guitar, using the aux input and a 3.5mm jack adapter from my guitar.
Hi, are there two different models of Marshall Acton II voice? One for Alexa and another one for Google Assistance? Sorry but there is no information about it and it is out of stock everywhere. Thanks.
Well, I actually bought it after listening to Acton (version 1) and am highly disappointed. The sound is nowhere close. I would like to know the reason... Acton II advertises Class D amplifiers with 60 W RMS rating (2 x 15 + 1 x 30). It has a rating mentioned at the back panel as 36W. Could you tell me what that is exactly? In the first version, the same rating was 70 W !
I own the Stanmore version 1 and have been happy with the sound since day one. It came with a cable to connect my phone and iPod device to it. Sound even better! Do these mark ii have the same cable and all have the same level of volume ? I want to get the most basic version as it is perfect for daily use as well as for the kitchen. Great informative video by the way.
Regarding The part where you were saying that with it being connected to your device for interruptions just turn do not disturb on and it will not do it
Hi Jonathan,is the performance of Acton ll and the acton ll with voice are same ? i am confused which should i buy for my first marshall speaker as the google assistant one is pice high. Thankyou
Hi Lily, yes the Acton II and the Acton II with voice share exactly the same performance. The only difference is in the addition of the voice control. I would also recommend checking out the Marshall Uxbridge as it's even more compact than the Acton. Hope that helps!
@@lilychan7006 Hi Lily, I would say if voice is very important to you, you may find better value in the Uxbridge as you're not paying a premium for it. The Uxbridge still has a great, loud sound that can fill an average size room, however the Acton offers a slightly wider soundstage.
which sounds louder between marshall 2 audio alexa vs sonos move which of the 2 is better??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I imagine you got the Home-pod...Much richer sound and facility if you are an Apple fan. I am, but I bought the Stanmore for its sound and size! Now the Home-pod is discontinued so the Acton ii for the kitchen is enough sound to wake up to.
Hello Jonathan, is the Marshall Acton II (with Google Assistant) compatible with Marshall Uxbridge (with Google Assistant) in terms of building a Multy Room System?
Be careful! You can't turn standby mode or even change it! So speaker will go sleep after 20 minutes of silence. This makes speaker absolutely unusable with Apple TV
Can you try unplugging it while the switch is left to "on" and plug it back in? Will it "wake" up that way? If so, I'm thinking of getting a smart plug to "plug-unplug" it to wake it up. Not a complete fix but an ok couch-potato-ey makeshift. Please let me know if you'd try this!
@@petermurrell2629 It turns off by itself after 20 mins if you are not playing any media. Did your speaker come with a 3.5 cable to connect it with an alternative source?
We have this- its epic BUT the whole Alexa thing is f#$%ing up the whole experience. The crap thing is... it cost more to get one of these WITHOUT Alexa. We cant find the microphone to stab it and kill that b$&@ for good. She freaking goes off all the time.... driving us crazy. There should be a way to deactivate the microphone but there isn't. Get an older model without Alexa or chuck up the extra cash to avoid it if you are like us and dont need/want that freaking thing in your business 24/7. If anyone has figured out how to disable it with doing damage or where to find it to do damage to it, please let me know!
Got pair ... while speakers are good .. but bluetooth connectivity is pathetic specially, when you pair, connection to one speaker keeps dropping.. ruining the whole music listening experience .. will never recommend these speaker pair.
RUclips audio listening tests are not something you can rely on. The reviewer should have stated that. I would say to anyone who is investing money in any speaker system to go try before buying. Nothing can beat that. And if possible, with your own music. Not the prepared music that stores choose...
Shame you guys don’t respond to those who bother to write posts asking you pros for advice…Why bother i ask myself. In the end, Action pales by comparison. So much so, I sent the Acton further than Acton Town tube station ( for those who don’t know, it is in London, although these speakers are no longer made in The UK…) and invested in the Sonos Move which matches the Stanmore one which I also own. As I say, you guys should find the time to comment, you just might get more Thumbs up. This time, a Thumbs down, especially for that joke and the adjective you used to describe the sound.
Hi there, apologies that your original comment was missed on this occasion. Unfortunately, as we invest a lot of time in creating content, we have to balance this with responding to the community. As you can see on our other videos, we respond to as many comments as we can but as you can imagine, we can't get round to everyone. I hope that clarifies and we are working as hard as we possibly can to create content. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
This guy doing the review has a very genuine quality about him. Good trait for a review show.
I got it for $165 in good condition, very happy and excited to receive it.
Just bought mine today. Marshall Acton II sounds really great!! It really rocks my small room. Bass is great! Really value for money.
Will it auto shut off after 10-mins standby like Emberton model?
@@skny2282 did you find out?
I didn’t. But based on my terrible experience with that auto shutoff Feature on my old Marshall I walked away for another brand.

Can I use two of these together and get stereo?
Id like to use one of these as i need a single speaker setup for a small room for netflix and movie viewing, how would this go ?

Nice video! How to turn off this speaker?
So which is better? These wifi or Bluetooth aptx model? In terms of sound quality? Thanks!!
Is Acton 2 better than Kilburn 2 for sound quality?
Yes .. Acton 2 has better bass definition and punch plus better clarity

Will this connect to a turn table with cables?
Yes
Which soundbar do you have behind you?
It is in fact the Sonos Playbar which has now been discontinued and replaced by the Sonos Arc. We do have an Arc review on our channel :)
Does this play Radio?
Is this with wire or wireless
How do you turn this off? There is no power button. Do I just pull the plug from the wall socket?
yup
It switches off automatically when not used for longer than 20 minutes. Just leave the plug in the wall socket.
