I would tone down the bogan style, he-man narrative a little. Truck driving is no longer the domain of the tats, blue singlet and stubbies. I am fleet manager for one of our biggest transport operators and the better pay rates are attracting well educated and less physical drivers who understand the high tech involved, and are gentle on the equipment. Thats saves us money and increases reliability. And more and more women are coming into the industry for those reasons too.
I have a friend who operates 20 mining trucks at a BHP mine in WA. 18 of his drivers are women for these reasons.
It's due to the grace of God and Jesus that everyone is safe and sound
