    I watched one of your caravan videos once where you had that little cartoon of a car with a caravan behind riggling behind on this miniature road map, just like the double decker buses cartoons of London, and your houseboat adventure on the river Murray. Mick I am 77 years old, I have been in Adelaide since Jan 1969, have driven a semi for Karri timbers a little bit, a truck for Cocks Foyes, and a 6 ton Thames for Black and white taxi trucks at mile end, yet I finished clothing designing college in Sydney, where did the time go, and So soon to, things are changing So fast, yet Truck diving still stays the same, and without you guys everything seems to dwindle down to nothing again, thank you again for your videos Mick, and keep up your good work. Mick

    At 8:35 mark it looks like you had a strap come off a trailer coming out of the depo. I remember as a teenager watching a driver backup a triple like this around a corner and then around into the block of land we were building a house on and the last trailer had all the roof frames on it. Everyone was in awe of the drivers skills and he made it look easy while many of the old boys waiting to unload it where talking trash towards the driver after he told them he could do it. They all ate their words lol.

    • @justcruisinwithmicksally837
      @justcruisinwithmicksally837  Год назад +1

      I had left my work gloves sitting on a dolly and it was the gloves that you would have seen falling off onto he ground.
      Reversing a road train, two or three trailers requires a lot of skill. Something you need to be doing all the time or you tend to become very rusty at it.

    Just got my HGV licence in UK, though I would love to do this kind of truck driving, I imagine those long straight roads test your mental ability to stay awake, and I expected the turnings to be challenging but the three trailer doesn't need as much room as I thought, great vid.

    Well done... Thanks for a simple, matter-of-fact video and music that didn't sound obnoxious. Nicely edited and planned camera angles, as well. The scenery reminds me of the territory I cover in our Great Plains states... 28 years here and now hauling blades and other oversized loads. It seems to be where a lot of old-school drivers end up, for the kids coming out of our driving schools these days often act like they're driving a sports car.
    Nice looking truck, by the way... It makes me miss the Peterbilt 379 I came out of into a KW T800, though I don't miss all the polishing lol. Thanks for sharing and be safe out there.

    It would be nice to hear some of the details of driving, gearbox, engine size, loading capacity, breaking distances and turning circles. 😃

      @@ronsummers4090 Most of Guy's still running 18 speed Eaton boxes (Road Rangers)... Engines often Cummins 650hp, C15 Cats or if it's a Freight shaker it'll be the trusty n thirsty series 60 Detroit. Load capacity from memory 110T for a triple??? I pulled B Triples or Doubles from Toowoomba Brisbane to Northem Perth configerations up the Stuart were allowed triples as you saw... Braking distance... Hmmm Often the guys just coasted to a stop to make the other guys sleeping more pleasant... Turning circle etc.... Worst thing we had to look out for was not to turn to sharp, as the Dolly would hit the ring feeder and bend the eye...So the theory would be... Try to take the turn as wide as possible to make it less stressful on the gear... Hope this helps some what .?
