Like you, I LOVE Radiohead. They are quite possibly the greatest undefinable band of all time, and also like you, I have never seen them live. I hope I get to before it's too late but, I seriously doubt it. I've also never seen The Pixies (though I believe that is changing this summer!) I would have loved to have seen Pavement live but, I think I've totally missed my chance there. Amanda Palmer is another one on my list... Errrr My biggest problem is that I most of my favourite bands and musicians died before I was born. As I'm sure you can imagine, this presents a rather big issue when it comes to seeing them live. I can't even begin to speculate as to what one would have to go through to go and see Thelonious Monk or Duke Ellington these days. Oh... Lana Del Ray. I've not seen her. I don't care what anyone says, I think she's brilliant. I have a friend who goes to see her whenever she is in the country, and he has promised to take me next time. Although... He was single when he said that so... I live in Devon so, it's not impossible to see bands but, it's not what I would call easy either. I utterly hate traveling to and being in London so, that certainly complicates things when some bands do three UK dates in a world tour and they're all in London! I like Devon though. We have trees. And not crappy little city trees. Proper bloody trees!
@@HDpiano why thank you! It was tough to think of bands that I actually want to see live because, years of performing in bands myself has caused me to not want to spend time watching gigs. It's a bit of a 'busman's holiday' scenario!
Great lesson, Joe! Little theory correction at 03:37: The Bbm6 chord is a 'borrowed' minor iv chord from the parallel minor, not the Neapolitan chord. (The Neapolitan chord (flat-2) in this key of F major would be Gb major. N6 (first inversion) would be Gb/Bb.) The borrowed iv and N6 *ARE* similar in that they share the b6 scale degree (Db in this case), and they are both interesting pre-dominant chord choices. :)
Hi joe, I know of Radio head, but not familiar with their music. This is a great tutorial to practice with. You mentioned that some parts go out of the diatonic. It is always mentioned at the beginning of a piano course that when writing a song we are supposed to only use chords which are in the same key. A lot of songs use notes out of the scale, that means that that particular rule doesn’t hold true? Even piano man is in the key of C and during the solo he uses notes not belonging to the diatonic. Excuse my ranting, I wanted to mention that. To answer your question, I would have liked to see Genesis fronted by Phil.
Never thought I could do this, I have to play each pattern separately, and I still can't play both octaves at once, but the recording will be complete. Lol Thanks
I saw Radiohead live who comes only once every like 5-10 years here but I have never seen Rush. I feel terrible because living in Canada I had plenty of opportunities and now it is impossible since the “professor” passed away.

Thanks for the comment. We feel that developing a strong visual understanding of the keys/note names (without displaying the letters) will ultimately be a huge help as you continue learning more songs. This video might be helpful: ruclips.net/video/kt1ykCtOu-g/видео.html
I think it’s much easier to read music than try to follow this kind of video. But that’s just me. Paul McCartney says that he never learned to read music and he’s done alright for himself.
