      Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and for your kind words. They really mean a lot to me, and the fact that as a new nurse you benefit from this video makes it even better. I hope the job interview goes well and you get the job. I remember my first job interview as a new nurse and it was so exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time. Hi Sarah. What would be an appropriate response if the hiring manager asks “what are your weaknesses as a nurse?” I never know how to answer that. Thank you!

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  6 лет назад +3

      Hello :) I know right!! This question is tricky. When I have answered this question in the past, I've talked about how as a nurse I sometimes tend to take my job home with me in that I worry about my patients and stress about them while at home (like playing the whole shift over and over in my head). In addition, I tend to be a perfectionist, and I'm sometimes really hard on myself when I mess up. I hope that helps guide you in your question. Best wishes in your interview!

    really good tips to get prepared for the interview...thank you so much for this video..actually I m nurse from India and looking for job in Australia now n this video will help me a lot....I would appreciate if you could let me know that if I get selected,would they assign me mi roster immidately or they first engage me some training session to get me well prepared for mi work???

      Thank you so much for your comment about the video. So glad I could help you prepare for your interview. I live in the US so I can't speak for how they do things in Australia, but any time a new nurse is hired to a position (regardless if the nurse has experience or not) they are always in a training period for a couple of weeks. Then they take their own patient load (roster) after the training period. So I would think things would be the same in Australia. I wish you best of luck and hope all goes well. Thanks again for your comment!

    HI! i REALLY LOVE you videos.:)
    I just want to ask an advice, i just passed my nclex, but i was out of school for almost 3years already and dont have any hospital experience except for being a companion/caregiver. Do you think I should take classes/seminars like BCLS? just to add in my resume?

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  7 лет назад

      Hello Charlene :) Thank you for watching my videos, and CONGRATS to you on passing NCLEX! Yes, I would most definitely sign-up to take BCLS, which will be required before you start working as a nurse. Also, many employers want nurses to also be ACLS certified too. It is a great certification to have and it will teach you how a code blue works and your role as a nurse. Then I would try to take any type of EKG courses, cardiac drip courses, etc. I wish you the best on your job hunting!

    What would you do if our company hired you?

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  9 лет назад

      +Maisnam Nongthouba Yes, that is another great question you may get asked. Thank you for adding that. -Sarah

    • @maisnamnongthouba5864
      @maisnamnongthouba5864 9 лет назад

      It would be so nice of you sister if you share your ideas on that.

    • @RegisteredNurseRN
      @RegisteredNurseRN  9 лет назад +3

      +Maisnam Nongthouba My response to that question would vary. Every company has a "mission" statement. So, I would look up their mission statement and see how that statement represents who I am as a nurse and formulate that into a response. For instances, say a company's mission statement was "Giving quality patient care one patient at a time"....I would give a response that has something to do with providing and excelling in patient care. I hope that helps.

      Hello Linda :) Most med tests will test you on IV drip rates, weight-based medications, oral solutions etc. I actually have a whole dosage and calculation lecture series that includes free review quizzes to help you study. You can access them here: ruclips.net/p/PLQrdx7rRsKfUYdl0TZQ0Tc2-hLlXlHNXq (the links to the quizzes are found in the RUclips description along with their worksheets). Best wishes :)
